I was contacted by these people offering a $25 HBC gift card to try their service. they advised that i would have access full access to my credit reports and i would be sent a package in the mail detailing other 'perks' included. they gave me a free month and advised that i would be billed $20/ month thereafter. 3 months later, i never receievd the 'package' from them and never received my HBC gift card. when i called to cancel the service, the automated system wouldnt even allow me to be transferrd to an agent, it asked for my account information and gave me ONE option> to cancel my monthly bill and only pay one fee of $29.95 for the whole year. i kept pressing '0' until the line finally transferrd to an agent named Morton. he told me that the package was emaild to me...i told him that that is not professional and should have been mailed out to me in a hard copy as they had advised when i was contacted initially. He preceeded to cancel the service and i hung up.
THEN i rememberd that i never receievd my HBC gift card, so i immediatly called back (i hung up the fone with morton at 8:07am and called back at appx. 8:11am). This time a person by the name of Regis answered. he claimed that because i was 'no longer' a customer, he could not send out the gift card. i exclaimed that my service was only cancelled 5 minits ago, and that was unacceptable as they never sent me the confirmation package to begin with! he told me that he was the supervisor and that there was no one above him i could speak to and HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME! i called right back and spoke to Morton again, Morton said that Regis was his supervisor and that was the only person he could transfer me to...upon Regis picking up, i expressed my anger at his terrible customer service> he then HUNG UP ON ME A SECOND TIME!
i could not believe what was happening so i contacted HBC to see if they had any affiliation with them, HBC said that this is a private company and they only had the same 1800 number that i called. at this point, i wasnt even angry about not receiving the gift card, i was angry because their service was sooo awful and the people seem to all be liars. they insisted that Regis was the only person for me to speak to and would not give me another number to contact i.e. head office. they wouldnt even give me a name of another manager...when i asked Regis who his manager was, he said that he is the supervisor and he is the only one i can speak to> then hiung up.
I will be contacting HBC to report these people again and will continue to search online for further information. if anyone who reads this has had a same situation with this company, please respond, we should keep track of this.
