I ordered from Pro Flowers online for Valentine's day and when the checkout page came up, all the extra charges shocked me and there was no area where these could be edited or a choice made. For two orders, the shipping, special shipping and handling was $45.94 That's 28% of my order. It would be less expensive to look up a floral shop online in the area you want delivery, and order direct. I think these excessive charges are a big ripoff!!

We do apologize if one of your gifts was late

AUTHOR: ProFlowers - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, February 25, 2012

If one of your gifts was delivered late, we do apologize.  We guarantee the deliveries and we'll make it right for you.  Deliveries to businesses are between 9AM and 5PM and it isn't acceptable if the package was not delivered on time.  For standard delivery on a weekday, it is stated on the website during the order process that delivery is between 9AM-8PM to residential addresses.  Because of the volume of shipments our partners were delivering on Valentine's Day, locations closer to the end of a driver's route could have arrived closer to 8PM.  We understand that often people would want delivery earlier in the day, which is why we can offer guaranteed morning delivery, but because these orders have to be processed ahead of others and placed on special trucks, there is a surcharge for that service.  It is unfortunate that the recipient of one of your gifts was leaving the next day, and only had a limited amount of time to enjoy their gift, and we understand that you might be disappointed with delivery at the later end of our delivery window.   We do offer florist delivered flower services on our sister site ProFlowers Florist Express which can be accessed from the ProFlowers home page.  However, because we obtain the flowers directly from the growers and hand pack them, the flowers offered on ProFlowers.com will be more fresh, guaranteed to last at least seven days, and are typically less expensive.  We understand this method isn't preferable to everyone, which is why we have both options available to our customers.  However, orders placed with either of those sites will be filled using the method that was chosen.

rebuttal to your excuses

AUTHOR: Tom - (United States of America)

I paid for guaranteed Valentine's Day shipping. Yes they arrived on Valentine's day. One at 7:40 PM and valentines' day is almost over. The person receiving was going to bed and flying the next day so had to leave the flowers; and the second one arrived after the person had already left work. You should have a florist deliver the flowers, not Fed EX. This is my last time I will use your services. The quality is no different and it didn't matter anyway because the people couldn't enjoy them on the day.

Shipping Charges

AUTHOR: Steve @ ProFlowers - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, February 19, 2012

We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our price structure for shipping.  We understand that shipping adds expense to your gift, and work closely with our carriers to keep the amount passed on to our customers to a minimum.  However, our flowers are obtained directly from the growers, hand packed, and then individually shipped overnight.  This does incur an additional charge, however, it allows us to supply a superior flower product that we can then guarantee to remain fresh for at least seven days.  We're confident that even with the shipping, we offer a competitive price, especially given the quality of flowers we deliver and guarantee.  ProFlowers.com will not always be the cheapest option for you to send flowers, but we always strive to be the best overall value.  You might well find cheaper flowers through a local shop, but they probably won't offer a satisfaction and freshness guarantee like we do.   -Steve
