Pro Quo Books International Books Pro Quo Books... deceptive practices or just incompetent?  Internet

Pro Quo Books is a company that sells through the AbeBooks.com and amazon.com storefronts. 

They listed a newly reprinted version of a guide book I wanted at a very low price. This was apparently incorrect, they'd clearly intended to list the older printing at that price. When they realized their error they simply cancelled the order and responded with their reason as "bookseller accepted order in error".

I work in retail. If my company makes an error we will simply honor the pricing we gave. If we don't have the item in stock, we will buy it from another company and have it drop-shipped to the customer. It's about integrity and making good on the deal we've offered - this is not the case with Pro Quo Books. 

Pro Quo Books never responded to my emails.

AbeBooks.com responded by suggesting, not once, but twice, that I should just buy the item elsewhere. As of the second and final time that they contacted me, they claimed that Pro Quo Books had not responded to them yet either - and yet they allow Pro Quo Books to continue to sell through their internet storefront? 

Pro Quo Books gives a black-eye to both AbeBooks and Amazon (why do they let their reputation be tarnished in this way?). Irregardless, the fact that AbeBooks.com will not lift a finger to right the wrongs done by their sellers is akin to being an accomplice in crime.
