We rented with this company for a year.  From the very beginning, they were rude and unprofessional.  The woman showing the property was late, and then blamed us for her lateness (saying we requested a showing at an inconvenient time for her).  However, the market in Boulder is tight (it's a college town).  We had several maintenance issues, which took weeks to resolve, and repeated phone calls.  After a year, we received notice that rents were going up, and we decided to move.  We submitted the proper written notice, and then settled down to clean the place-carpets, appliances, the works. 

Now, we signed this gigantic lease in the beginning, which means we agreed to forfeit some of the security deposit in order for them to rekey the locks, and mandatory steam cleaning.  Ok, it's not that customary, but we accepted.  No problem.

That said, on move-out, we left the house clean and in good condition.  We've rented in several other apartments, and this has never, ever been an issue.  We waited the customary 60 days (the maximum amount of time allowed by law) to receive our security deposit from them, and when we got it (on the 60th day), it was half of what it should have been.  We were charged for the following repairs: a leak in the bathtub (I'd been calling to have them fix it for months), re-grouting and caulking, and painting the entire apartment, which they declared was "not normal wear and tear".  We didn't hang things with nails, we didn't paint anything, and the apartment was in great condition. 

We're beginning the process of a lawsuit. This was the worst rental experience of my life.
