I bought a Proscan combo DVD/21" Flat screen TV in December 2012.   By May 2012 it experienced a horizontial line on the screen on all channels.  It cuts through the picture showing on the screen.  I contacted Proscan and they had no one who could speak a word of recognizable English.  They wanted me to pay the shipping to them and back (Roughly $40.00) to me first before they would look at it.  I told them I had a extended warranty from Walmart that included all shipping costs.  They said contact Walmart then.  I did, and Walmart took on the problem.  I shipped it to them in September 2013, for free and they shipped it back a week later saying they could not work on the TV because it is under original warranty to Proscan.

To pay shipping for a obvious defect in the product is bad enough.  To pay when the extended warranty says I should not is a rip off.  No one at Proscan or Walmart tells you the same story twice and they both keep you on hold for a half hour or better when you do contact them.

I will never buy a product from Proscan or Walmart again.

The rest of the story Ken

When Proscan would not take delivery at their cost, I contacted the Customer Service Department of Walmart's Extended Warranty Service.  They indicated they would take the TV or repair it and to only ship it to them and they would handle from there.  Now I gave all the information I had on the set.  They responded by sending me a pre-shipped box from UPS and pre-labeled with the exact information and serial number of the set attached.

They knew...or someone knew exactly what they were getting at Walmart to go through these actions.  They knew before they shipped the box the set was less than a year old and were "stepping in" for Proscan.  Gets to the repair center and the head does not know what the hand is doing...it got sent back.  So when you say....Walmart is probably right...which section or department or person Ken.  They wasted my time, as you are wasting it now.

I think it's time for you to read your warranty papers...

I would believe Walmart is right in this, as most extended warranties don't kick in until the manufacturer's warranty expires.
