This company began to call me almost daily after I purchased my truck, all times of the day and the operators cannot speak very good english and when you ask for someone else they said there was no one else to talk too.  I lost my job and explained that to them they said if you don't pay your note we will repossess your truck however they did not I got two months behind and I was able to make two payments in one month to catch it up.  Well I work on a rig and got very tired of them calling me and on the last call they made they told me to pay $425.00 and to change my insurance coverage to what they wanted.

I was coming back home and had my dad change my insurance coverage and it shows they were faxed the paperwork however they say they did not so I sent it again and again it showed they received the fax.  I received a call from them on Thursday saying they were going to repossess if I didn't give them the $425.00 so I sent the money order on Friday and on Monday at 3 in the morning they repossessed my truck.  One interesting note is I sent them a fax that ask for my rental contract showing how late fees are charged and also to stop calling me almost daily and then 4 days later my truck is repossessed interesting.

I had to call and threaten them will a lawyer and I received only the sheet showing my payments and I noticed that the man who signed the letter a Wayne Carson is the same guy who sent me letters telling my about late payments or insurance issues and I also noticed every time I got a letter from Wayne Carson there was a charge on my loan of $50.00 so now I wonder is Wayne Carson a lawyer or not and why was I charged $50.00 for the letter it was sent regular mail not registered just an envelope and a stamp.  Ripoff.  I was unable to work out a deal they actually refused to talk to me but I find it interesting that they did not repo my truck when it was 2 months behind no no they repo'ed after I sent my fax to them and I was only 15 days late strange.  These guys are crooks and they know it and it is shameful business practices but they are preying on folks who can't get financed at the banks.  I learned a lesson, so anyone who reads this refuse to use this company or you too will learn a hard lesson.

Exactly the Opposite Experience...

AUTHOR: Lisa M. C - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Yes, they do seem like a mom and pop organization, I was a little nervous when I was filling out my auto loan application to get financing from them.  But the terms were excellent considering I have just come out of the gigantic hole created by the recession and my subsequent layoff.

They gave me a payment schedule and stuck to it.  No extra fees or wierdness I was not expecting.  They have been nothing but lovely throughout my experience even if I have been a couple of days late.

I think it is a bit unfair to say that they ripped you off when you indicated in your complaint that you did not pay them for several months.  No finance company from the largest to the smallest is going to allow you to not pay them without giving you some static.  Also, you have to have insurance if your vehicle is being financed - even if it is a laughable peice of junk (as mine is - it really sucks, but it gets me from point a to point b).  So complaining about that and ignoring their attorney who is trying to make sure that you are keeping to the terms of your fininance agreement is not fair either.

There are lots of companies on this website that really are dirtbags and do the working class a great disservice. But I think that Prospect Finance is not one of them.  They are a little one-horse operation but they are pretty decent and do what they set out to do  - which is to finance people who have sketchy credit and who need a car to start over again - at a fairly reasonable rate.

And no, I don't work for them nor have I ever been asked to sing their praises.  My dealings with them have been confined to being greeted by some friendly, pretty receptionist who takes my payments and gives me a receipt.

You seem to know a lot about my account.  So let's get the facts straight I didn't have any credit at all this was my first car and I had only been on my job 2 months so I had to use your company and the used car lot I used sent my account to you I did not choose you.  As you well know and I can prove I did get the required insurance information to your company and in a timely manner but you said over and over you did not you see my insurance company had to send it to you not me.

The final letter I emailed to you you stated that you had gotten the fax from my insurance company do you want to admit that  or do you want  to continue bashing your former customers.  I wonder why the BBB list your company with an F rating it wasn't because of me it was because of your company practices, hey guys take the time to look for yourself.  Hey where is my last check I send after your company repo'd the truck?

Typical Wailing Deadbeat!

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 20, 2013

Oh yes...they screwed you so, so much.  You are with them because YOU screwed other creditors by NOT paying YOUR bills on time.  (Otherwise you'd be with a low APR bank!)  Then what do you do???  You CONTINUE to not pay them on time and don't even have the required insurance coverage.  They do a repo because YOU failed to keep to the contract provisions YOU agreed to.  Oh, poor, poor baby!  Typical crying, whining, wailing serial deadbeat.
