LifeVantage is a multilevel marketing company that sells 'health' supplement products. Their flagship product is called Protandim and they claim it will provide you with all sorts of health benefits. Frankly after using Protandim for over a year I have yet to notice any difference in my health. However, at $50 a bottle, I have noticed my wallet getting lighter and lighter every month.

My cousin asked me to start using Protandim over a year ago because he got involved in the MLM part of the program. So to help him out I've been a 'Preferred Customer' (auto-ship every 30 days) for over a year now (since Oct. 2011).

Last December I got the first email and snail mail letter about the 1st Protandim recall. The letter claimed that there's nothing really wrong with the Protandim bottles affected but they want you to throw out any unused product and then apply for a free replacement. Nothing in either the email or the letter spells out exactly what the problem is with the effected bottles. But you basically have to sign away your rights and promise not to sue them to get another free bottle.  Seems like a lot of trouble for a voluntary recall and really makes you wonder about the companies motives. It also gives you pause to think what happened with their quality control department. I mean, how did the product get tainted in the first place? And if there's 'nothing really wrong' with the tainted product, why did they want me to throw the remainder away?

But I figure 'whatever, everyone makes mistakes sometimes' and I go for the free replacement bottle. After that I get one more auto ship bottle and I start to have second thoughts and I think 'maybe I should just cancel with this company because if their quality control let this happen once, it could happen again'.  Well I was right, it did.

A week after I canceled my auto ship with them here comes recall email #2. It seems that the company found out there are other batches of this supplement that are not fit for human consumption as well. Now I'm a little worried because both of the last two bottles they shipped me were listed in the recall and I had ingested one of them. Yikes!

Please note: LifeVantage replaced the first tainted bottle with another tainted one!! Are you kidding me??? WTF? I mean who's running the show there at LifeVantage anyways. How in the world does a company selling a product people put in their bodies allow that to happen? Then they sent me a second one on their auto ship program. Really?

And then they have the audacity to ask me to throw out any unused product again and then sign up for two more replacement bottles. Really? So they think I should trust them to not try and poison me a third time.  Hmmm.... let me think about that.

So I call customer 'No Service' (Stephanie) repeatedly to ask for my money back. Of course I get the run a round and get sent off to managers voice mails where I leave messages that never get returned. I sent them email after email with no response. Finally a month later, I get an email back that says: "Thank you for your inquiry to LifeVantage. Your product affected by the recall does not qualify for a refund under our refund policy." And then this priceless line: "If you would like to replace your product affected by the recall, please complete the online form located at: (weblink)". So my only option with this outfit is to give them the opportunity to try and poison me again. Wow, that's great!

Well LiveVantage, I think I'm going to take another route this time. LifeVantage doesn't want to refund my $100 (for 2 bottles) and I'm sure as heck not going to take anymore of their poison pills. So I filled a complaint/report with the FDA, and the CA and UT Attorney Generals. My goal with this Rip Off Report complaint is to get as many new LifeVantage customers or MLM members to reconsider joining or remaining with LifeVantage as I can.

Think about this for a minute: do you really want to be involved with a company so poorly run that their quality control dept. allows products to be shipped to it's customers that can cause them to be poisoned? And then is so negligent that they replace their tainted product with even more tainted product? And then to add insult to injury won't even refund money to clients who dont want to take their supplements anymore.

Consider this: as a MLM member of LifeVantage, you could be personable liable if one of your customers or MLM bases gets sick from taking Protandim. Are you going to let your kids take this product or sell it to friends who have children who may end up taking it? How about giving it to your parents or other relatives. Is it worth the risk? Think about it.

Its hard for me to believe that the management at LifeVantage is so callused and stupid to believe that hiding behind a No Refund Company Policy is going to work with everyone involved with these recalls. You morons at LifeVantage should have paid me back my $100 bucks and said were sorry and good bye.
