I had found this company Protect America online through a security referral service.

I spoke with a couple companies before going with Protect America on 07/31/07.

A representative named Jacob Cantu called my home and talked me into getting their GE Simon 3 Wireless Security System for my home.

The representative emailed me a link and rushed me through filling out and signing an electronic contract.
While taking the time to read it, he stated for me to just click accept and read it later, if I wanted to receive the security system for the "special" price of $99. Going against my better judgment, I did as he asked.
Mr Cantu lead me to believe someone was going to install the equipment and I would be contacted in 3 to 5 days.
About 7 days later I received the alarm equipment in the mail.

I called them the same day to inquire when someone was going to come to install the alarm, I was then told if I wanted someone to come and install it it would cost me another $100 to send a tech out.

They also said that the salesman was new and should not have told me that someone was going to come to install it.

They told me that they could walk ME through the installation.

I was on the phone with Thomas more than an hour doing the set up.

At that time he could not get my code to program into the alarm and said sometimes it takes a little while to go through.

Then he sold me 2 key chain controllers and said I had to get them before my 5 day trial was up for the special price.

I finally got them about 3 days later,so I called to have them programmed.

At that time I was told that the alarm was not sending the signal to them so all this time I was not being monitored.
The Tech Randy said he would credit me the first month since there was a problem with the system, probably due to shipping, and he would send out a technician ASAP free of charge. 3-4 days later I received a call that a tech can not come until the 29th of Aug.

That would be a week and a half later.

Today I got my credit card bill with a charge of 200.67 and another charge for 116.63, so I called the billing dept to inquire about the 200.67 since it was suppose to be $99 for the alarm with no installation fee.
I was the told that I had an upgraded system(which I never knew about) and first and last month monitoring plus shipping.

I then stated that Randy had agreed to credit my first month because of faulty equipment, I was then told no I was not getting a credit because there were sending a Tech out.

Here it is a month later, I still am not being monitored and still am expected to pay for this.
I was then told that it was my phone line that was bad,..... funny my phones work fine as well as my computer.

This being before anyone even came out.
I am not being treated fairly and told them I would just send the stuff back and get my money back and to cancel my contract.

The lady then went off saying I would have had to return it within 3 days unopened (I did not receive it for 7 days).....unopened would not tell me I was going to have such a headache dealing with Protect America and not be able to get the equipment to work.
It seems to me they are not concerned about their customers only about how they can keep them hooked in a contract and get their money.

Needless to say I am very unhappy with Protect America.
Any other place where you buy a product that does not work you can return it and get your money back.
I this point I which I never heard about Protect America.

Aug 29, 2007
Today the Tech Chris came out and after almost 4 hours the alarm is still not working.
He was on the phone back and forth with his office trying to get it to work.

Then he told me his office said I could change to a radio transmitted system and wanted me to buy this for another $199 plus $10 more a month for monitoring.
I told him absolutely not, I was not paying anything more.

Chris told me to call the customer service because he can not do anything about canceling my contract only a manager could do that.

I called and spoke with a manager a Mr. McCoy there in customer service and he refused to cancel my contract.
He told me to call my phone company out to do a diagnosis on my phone line and they would send another tech out.

They are still charging me for the month of August even though the alarm is now just sitting here not hooked up.
