I signed with Dip Publishing on March 19, 2012 to publish my book, The Diary of the D.C. Sniper.  The book can be found online in hardcover, paperback, nook, kindle and on Itunes.  However, to date, I have not received a penny since its publication in August, 2012.

Argus O. Milton is the CEO of Proxvoice Management, the alleged "parent" company to Dip Publishing.  This company is non-compliant even as of this moment in Georgia.  Their registered agent, is Douglas Martin.  When contacted, Mr. Martin knew nothing of this company and wanted nothing to do with Argus Milton, his former partner.

Dip Publishing, which is the name that appears on the back of my book, is not a publishing company at all.  In fact their address is a tiny post office box in Marietta, GA.  The box is the smallest one you can rent.  You cannot even fit my book inside their PO BOX, which is 367 if you wanted to know.

Mr. Milton has been contacted over 100 times regarding his inability to reimburse me for an interview CD mastering job which was supposed to be paid by August 1, 2012.  That never happened either.  He breached that contract as well.  So the Interview with the D.C. Sniper, available online as well, I have never received a nickel from any sales or been reimbursed for my time in mastering it.

Dip Publishing has a "set schedule" to pay its authors royalties, yet at least 3 known authors have not received any royalties.  I am one of them.  The others will remain nameless for various reasons, but the song is still the same.  Argus Milton pretends that his Keller (Devry University) MBA will prove him to be a legitimate businessman, but right now all he amounts to is a conniving crook.  He has taken money from me, amounting to several thousand dollars and breached at least 2 agreements.

What I do not like is that Proxvoice Mgmt and/or Dip Publishing is using my name, brand, reputation and title to lure other authors into this scheme.  They have little out of pocket costs since they only order from Engram (sic) publishers when a sale is taken.  They do not actually publish the book, they are a middle man operation with 3 employees.

According to the Secretary of State's own website, Argus Milton is the CEO, his sister, Audra Milton (or some relative to him) is the Secretary and Christy Covington is the CFO.  I have never seen any of these people.  When you call the number on www.dippub.com's website, you get an answering machine most of the time.  Argus says the reason that my royalties have not been paid is because of issues with "accounts receivable or payable."

Really?  How can the CEO of a company that is actually a first floor apartment building where Argus Milton lives, run by a relative and one other person, not have money to pay me?  What is worse, this is dragging on and on.

Some would say, "Take them to court!"  Well, it costs lots of money to take a broke company to court and even if you won, you'd lose even more money.

So in conclusion, avoid this company at all costs!  I am the co-author to a book that took 7 years of research, writing, correspondence and interviews to get and they ruined it all.  They never did any marketing, never even got one book signing, never promoted the book to "their best efforts" and are a sham of a company.

I have held out as long as I could but I don't want others to fall into this trap of Dip Publishing.  What does any author gain by telling the world that their own "publisher" is a scam artist?  Nothing, exactly.  So avoid Argus O. Milton, his MBA, his non-compliant company, his registered agent who wants nothing to do with him and his "legal team" at legal@dippub.com - yeah right.

This company is in business alright, it is in the business of embezzling funds and scamming its authors out of thousands of dollars.  It also breaches contracts, does not return phone calls and admits to wrong doings in emails only to never rectify them - rather making ridiculous excuses.

Lawsuit Filed Against Proxvoice Management

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Proxvoice Management was served on June 11, 2013, via its registered agent, Mr. Douglas Eugene Martin, for failure to pay royalties and numerous other allegations. It can be found at Cobb County Magistrate Court, case # 13-J-05148. Sheriff served Mr. Martin who had no idea he was even registered as the agent, but he is... There is no building to serve Argus Milton, in fact the Sheriff could not even find a known address for him. Argus Milton avoids paying almost as well as he avoided SERVICE OF PROCESS, but he could not avoid his own feet on this one. Mr. Martin was served at Proxvoice Mgmt's "corporate address" (again, Mr. Martin is the registered agent and there is no formal building for Dip Publishing), which is 75 Height Street, Marietta, GA 30060 - all of which can be found on Georgia's corporations website. This is public information. So, I will update this information as I move forward with this lawsuit against Mr. Argus O. Milton, his corporate officers and Proxvoice Mgmt (a/k/a Dip Publishing).

Dip Publishing Rebuttal

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 07, 2013

You are correct, you do not know me, so please keep your opinion to yourself. If you are an author with Dip Publishing, why don't you tell us your name, your book and when the last confirmed royalty check was received? I received my royalty statement from Argus Milton, but I have not been paid yet, and my book was released nearly a year ago. To date, I have not received a penny, as I had stated previously and which is confirmed by Mr. Milton's own responses. Why don't you enter Dip Publishing into Google and let me know what pops up on that first page. That's right, at least 5 solicitation reports, fraudulent accusations by dozens of writers, this Ripoff Report and oddly - nothing good. Show yourself mystery writer, who are you and what is your book? Or are you just working for the "company." There is nothing GOOD about Dip Publishing.

So let's go over the basics, shall we. 1. Is Dip Publishing, the company that actually has a website, a registered company in the State of Georgia? No. 2. Is Argus Milton the Officer of Dip Publishing? No. 3. What name is Argus Milton affiliated with in the state of Georgia as a registered officer? Proxvoice Management. That's it. 4. Is Proxvoice management even compliant as far as a business for the last 2 years? No. 5. Does Argus Milton pay his authors on time? No. 3 confirmed so far. 6. Have Argus Milton and his "company" received money and failed to pay out royalties? Yes. 7. Has the company exceeded the statutory minimum for committing fraud, felony embezzlement, and possibly larceny? Yes.

8. Has Argus Milton repeatedly contacted me, making excuses about when he is expecting to pay? Yes. 9. Has Argus Milton suggested that I wait until September 2013, 13 months after the release of my book, for even the first hint of my royalties due to me? Yes. In writing and over the phone. 10. Why are there so many solicitation alerts and writer's blogs warning against this company if it is so legitimate? 11. Why is his brother, Aric Milton, also involved in publishing? Is it coincidence? "PAPER MONEY" Publishing. Really? That's a great name, because Argus takes in money, he just doesn't pay out. What a great business model.

Southwest Mgmt?

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 25, 2013

Why would you name a company that is based on the opposite side if the country you are located. Even in Atlanta, Southwest is the opposite of Marietta, the alleged home base of Dip Publishing.

An F rating pretty much speaks for itself. The BBB doesn't just hand those out, you need to earn such a terrible distinction.

Argus Milton, now rated an F by the BBB!

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 25, 2013

This company literally cannot get any lower. The BBB just lowered Proxvoice Mgmt, a/k/a Southwest Mgmt, from a D- to an F. Why?

Look at all the company names in just 4 years associated with Argus Milton. Click on the link for www.proxvoice.com, it's still an error message.

Like Houdini, Milton tries to escape by changing names and addresses. Even books published on April 2012 had new addresses listed by August 2012. Now it's a PO Box? Southwest mgmt traces to an apartment complex. Impressive.

Proxvoice has even changed their name!

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 23, 2013

In order to avoid even more damaging press, the company is now hiding from the BBB and authors. Here is their current name and an unrelated complaint from just 2 weeks ago.

Again, all talk, no money. This is a sham company and it will be brought down, legally.

Emails speak louder than words

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 14, 2013

Dear Mystery Writer:

You didn't provide a name, your book's title, any info about when you were last paid or anything remotely convincing. To that end, here are 2 emails.

One is not only admitting I've not been paid, the other is trying to sell off my book so they won't have to pay me what's due.

So mind your own business, Proxvoice isn't.

Dear Mystery Writer

AUTHOR: 4NZix - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 14, 2013

Well, it's nice to see an unnamed author, with no title listed, sticking up for this great company. However, have you stopped to think what I gain from this?

I've included two nice pieces of genuine, dated, emails to confirm my complaint.

Do you even see my name or book anymore? No, because they'd rather make me just disappear off their site than face the reality that they cannot pay me or worse, are purposely not paying me.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

AUTHOR: 1ladyblue - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 14, 2013

I've been a DIP Author since 2011, and this just is not true. I have always been paid on time. They
publish all kinds of people, famous and not famous, and I have never heard anyone say they were not paid or ripped off.  The people I have met there have all been pretty cool.  When I first signed on I drove all the way from Tennessee (was so excited!) and as a female I wasn't sure how things would go at first, but I met with a couple members of their team and they were beyond professional, and that has not changed. We talked for two hours in a cozy conference room about how things would work.

I personally do not know Anthony Meoli, and surely not wanting to underestimate his concerns, but his complaint is the complete opposite of what I have experienced as a DIP Author. I do on the other hand keep in touch with two other Authors who are both writers for DIP Publishing (I met both at DIP), and they feel the same way I do from what we talk about. I personally hope to stay on board after my contract is up.

As an author with DIP, I am personally offended by these claims.  Im sure the company will be just fine, but this is just WRONG! I guess its true that you cannot please everyone..  When I saw this report in the search engine, I was shocked and had to say something.  This post sounds more like a discruntled rant than a real claim, especially for me being that I know better.  I am going to tell everyone else I know, who has a story of their own to stop by and set the record straight! And if you are reading this please take 10 minutes to do it yourself. Opinions are fine but when they are the opposite of the truth and put online for the world to see its JUST WRONG! I hope this helps someone out there!
