PSL Motors STOLE 1000 cash from me. Port Saint Lucie Florida

I am a 20 y/o college student just trying to make it by. I work FULL time, and go to school FULL time. I make enough to pay my bills and save every little penny I get. After a year of no car i finally saved up enough to make a down payment on one. I went to PSL MOTORS. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! I was told the car ran perfect with no problems. He told me the mechanic checked it out and said it was great! I drove it and it seemed to run fine with no major problems. So i said okay, i need a car and this is only 1988. I put the 1000 down on the car and he let me drive it off the lot.

NO longer then 4 minutes after driving it off the lot, the car started smoking. I called them back and told them that it was smoking way to bad for me to make it anywhere. He(charlie the OWNER) told me to park it at their shop and it would get fixed. So, even though I needed a car that day I was patient and said ok. I called the next day and he said it wasnt ready. So i said fine call me tomorrow. Well 2 pm rolled around on wednesday and still no call. So i called him. He tells me the car isnt finished. I said ok, i dont have time like this to wait, so i want my money back. He says, "no, i dont give money back."

I said well then give me the car, and he says, "no, I want 1800 cash for the rest of the car today, or I am going to start charging you $25 a day until you have the money." I asked what happened to the financing, and he said "I told the finance company i NO longer wanted to conduct business with you." So i drove back down to port saint lucie from palm bay to figure out what was going on. I walked in and said where did i sign saying that if you kept the car I didnt get my money back? he said "thats just my policy." I said just give me my money back and he told me no, and then threatened to have me arrested if i didnt leave.

So i left and went to the police. They confronted him about the car, and said he wasnt going to give me the car unless i handed over 1800 cash for the car. I showed them the bill of sale I had that said i only needed 577 for the car and they told me to take him to court. So now i am without a car, AGAIN, and dont even have any money to get one.. I WALK OVER 4 MILES HOME FROM SCHOOL AND 4 MILES THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO SCHOOL. BUT i have contacted the legal aid office and they are going to take my case.

They(psl motors) have already relisted the car for sale, less then a day after this happened. Watch out for this company. I stress you conduct business else where. I am only 20 years old, and cant believe i have been screwed like this. LOOK AT THE OTHER TWO PEOPLE THIS GUY HAS MESSED UP TOO!
