public storage Public Storage a big rip off, where they made me pay for their mistakes. I went and got a storage unit they gave me the wrong one they allow me to move in then after I moved everything in they told me they gave me the wrong unit and I had to move or pay the much higher fee, WOW. i oak lawn Illinois

I am a disable veteran, just getting out of the military after 14yrs, was making a move and went to the closest storage place, thinking I'm going to pick a place thats been around for a while and hopefully trustworthy. August 2013 I went to the storage unit in Oaklawn, IL and rented a unit, I moved in right on the first floor. I came in often , waved and talked to the sales people ALL the time, they WATCHED ME move into  this unit for  weeks until one day they tell me they gave me the wrong unit,  they made a big mistake! wow I say I can't move out now I don't have the money or the manpower to move out of that unit.

They said I would have to move or they would have to charge me that amount for that unit for that larger unit. I have a fit I tell them no I'm not going to move that's not going to happen and I'm not paying more either. Of course they don't like that but THEY DEFINITELY DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBLY AND THEY REALLY WANTED THAT EXTRA MONEY, SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, THEY WERE VERY UPSET. so one day I go in there the same girl they gave me the wrong unit talk to the district manager, let's see you there was a guy named Jeff, another guy but can't remember his name and his supervisor and I talked with customer service to try to fix this mess.

finally there was a manager that said to keep the price the same but they tricked me into the dead another contract but didn't write down the amount in front of me, because it was supposed to be the same. my bill was $206 with insurance $9 insurance, they jumped it up to $227 and they kept charging me this same amount every month and when I was late they put on $43 dollars worth of charges plus $60 worth of charges,l they did that all the way up until the date of a possible auction which they threaten me with auctioning off my property EVERY month.

I tried to get in touch with and go up the chain and talk to everyone from the customer service to the managers to the district managers to the regional manager the last person I talked to was some woman named Maria THEY ALL SAID THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP ME, THEY WERE NOT GOING TO TAKE ANY THING OFF and im four "4" days AWAY FROM THEM AUCTIONING OFF ME AND MY FAMILY'S BELONGINGS. I SWEAR TO GOD IF I HAD THE MEANS TO SUE THEM I WOULD. I AM going to contact a lawyer, Legal Aid or somebody. This is terrible customer service, terrible management etc...I DO not want them to GET away WITH this.
