Pure Fitness Gym Using Unfair Business Practices Unauthorized Charges Fraudulent Cancellation Policy Chandler Arizona

I signed a contract with Pure Fitness at their Chandler location, My contract was supposed to be for 12months & my payments if I did not go in and pay were to be automatically withdrawn from my boyfriends checking account(because at the time I had no debit/credit card and in order to sign up I had to have one to put on file).
So in June I went to make a payment & asked the gal when my contract was up, she told me June so this was my last payment & said nothing more. So the next month, July 24th they charged his account again. So that same day I went into the gym & a lady told me I had not signed a cancelation form, I told her no one had ever mentioned to me I needed to & that I would like to be reimbursed my money as my contract only said 12 months and I had not even used the gym two months prior to that. She said they could not do that.

Then when I got home I noticed the cancellation form doesnt even take effect until 60 days after the NEXT billing date. Which means they are going to get about another three payments out of me plus the one that they just took for the month of July.

What should I do?!?! My contract does not say anything about this and clearly states 12 months. The part where my boyfriend signed says that he gives them permission to pull money from his account for what the contract is written for which is only 12 months.

Later today We are going to ask them why they allowed them to pull another month out as they should be protecting his money and to have his bank block Pure Fitness or there partner ABC Finanical from pulling from his account. If they turn him or I over to Collections then so be it.

But if anyone has tips on similar situations or steps I should take or What I am up agaisnt please let me know as
Pure fitness is a shady unethical so called business. They care nothing about the people who are commited to their gym. I would advise anyone who is looking for a gym to look elsewhere!!
