I answered an ad for a position as an insurance agent with this company that goes by the name of Puritan Financial Group, that promised three set and confirmed appointments Tuesday thru Friday. I spoke to some guy named Rodney Cross, he told me how I would be able to earn a six figure income selling single premium life. He sent me the application and told me the "president" of the company, Sam Thomas (there is no mention of a Sam Thomas on their webste) would would be calling me to conduct a phone interview. Sam called me on Monday and aftet 30 seconds said he had to take another call. I never heard from him but I did hear from Rodney Cross, he apologized and said if I wanted to continue I needed to send the Puritan Financial Group $150.00 for a background check before I could continue my interview with the "president" of the company.

Folks the Puritan Financial Group is nothing but a scam attempting to extort $150.00 from anyone looking for a job. Just beware of this company.

Get the facts right

AUTHOR: Tigibrad - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 04, 2011

Ed, why is this being correlated to Puritan Financial when the posting is about Addison Ins./Gentry Group/Michael McIntyre which are separate companies and ownership? Matt McIntyre and Paul Crooks, own and head up Puritan Financial and are both credible, experienced business people. They provide superior training and support while providing an opportunity for reps to be in front of existing clients of Puritan and have far more opportunity and credibility than cold calling etc. For their existing clients, Puritan provides a full spectrum of financial disciplines that can be brought to point to assist with clients' issues from insurance to securities.  Puritan operates to benefit clients successfully under the oversight of FINRA, SEC and the Texas Department of Insurance.

Ed, I worked with Matt McIntyre in the early nineties and am better for the experience. I don't work with Matt, or Puritan currently, but I have had business dealings with Matt McIntyre and Paul Crooks over the years and found them honest and knowledgeable on all levels.

I am surprised that postings like this are allowed to continue when the reference is Puritanand it is a list of complaints and pleadings on an unrelated company and person, coupled with character assassination of Matt being the brother to Mike
McIntyre. There is no ongoing business relationship between Matt McIntyre, Puritan and any of Mike McIntyre's entities. They are brothers who went their separate ways almost 20 years ago.

I was part of the vetting process of Puritan Financial Group, and an expert witness, for the Federal Government in an acquisition from the Federal Government by Puritan. Their practices and record passed muster with several levels of both state and federal agencies including several State Attorneys General. The management of this discussion board should take note that the previous postings by you, Ed, are intentionally misleading and irrelevant to the subject company.  Ed, good luck with your current and future endeavors and I trust you will apply a different degree of research and vetting before you duplicate this misapplication of your abilities.

Seniors Beware and witness the great con artist in action

AUTHOR: Ed Jones - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, July 08, 2010

Michael, hard to refute such truth isn't it?  So, you take the fifth (like any good criminal)...  I stated a bunch of facts that were either true or false.  Answer the questions so seniors can see who you and your borther truly are!

Blatant disregard for seniors as you rampage around the country with your squad of well trained McItyre goons taking advantage of blue collar families who have worked hard to save what they have.  How many of these annuities that you roll without regards to whether it benefits the family or not, do you place with Puritan?

It must feel real good to you as you hide behind people who do your dirty work.

In Romans (abook in the Bible) , it talks about those who have their conscience seared thru evil doing.  So by your failure to answer these legitimate questions... all of us can take it to mean that you are a scam artist, you do pilfer seniors assets thru the use of deceptive telemarketing and mail-pieces, you practice law without a license thru agents who even say they were sent by the Obama administration-LOL), you put goons in old folks homes under the guise of helping-- when all you really desire to do is score a big commission.  These commissions, you dole out to your agents in pennies, yet you and your cronies (your family) reap the bountiful harvest of deceptively accumulated retirement funds.

God is not mocked and soon you, your brother and the rest of your "family" will be brought down.

I REMAIN EVER DILIGLENT AND ON YOUR TRAIL ACROSS THE US.  SENIORS BEWARE OF THIS GROUP... do the research!

Seniors beware!

AUTHOR: Ed Jones - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Mr. McIntyre, you skated the issues I brought up.  Do you or do you not, go around the country purchasing "Trust Mills" and their client's information?  Do you then sick your marketing goon squad on innocent seniors by calling them or sending them informaiton saying that your compnay has been assigned their account?  How is it, when you have nothing more than an excel database, of generic information feel that you and your company have been assigned their account?  Have Sarbannes OXley notices been sent, have the attorneys been notified about their lclients being transferred... Oh I forgot, you buy them o ff too!   Do you or do you not, say you offer "settlement services" in states such as AZ, CA, PA and OH, where a license to offer such services does not exist for your company?  By the way, are you or are you not related to Michael McIntyre and did you or did you not serve with him when he and you (thru being involved in the miscellaneous companies you and your brother have had over the years) were sues by State Departments of Insurance and Attorney Generals, even the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)?  Mr. McIntyre, do you or do you not use professional telemarketers who deceptively call senior citizens and attempt to get into their homes and rewrite annuity business without any regard whether it is good for the senior or not?  You and your brother have a reputation that you will not and cannot excape, both within and without the industry.  Anyone who types in McIntrye & Trust Mill or Puritan & lawsuit, can finds tons of information on google.  I have spent much more than thrity minutes looking now and have accumulated tons more info on the MCIntyre crime family!  To use the Better Business Bureau in your defense is a joke, for surely, you know like every good scam artist, that the BBB gives favorable ratings to those who pay the "fee."  You know all the techniques, as do I.  My mission in life is to expsoe you and I will not rest until you and your brother are shut down.  STOP ABUSING SENIORS!  I remain vigilent and at His service until you are behind bars!

Seniors beware!

AUTHOR: Ed Jones - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Just some of the links that you can check out on the McIntyre Crime family and how they have bilked seniors for almost two decades by purchasing the assets of defunct trust mills and going in to conduct financial reviews where their goal is nothing more than to practice law without a license and to rob seniors of the hard earned assets.  They have even gone so far as to purchase an insurance company that was in receivership from the state of Texas to help in their swindling.  SENIORS BEWARE!

Just some of the information I found on the McIntyre crime family in about 30 minutes.

#5 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Chris from Allentown, Pa

AUTHOR: Matthew w mcintyre - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Complaint titled "Puritan is a joke" authored by Chris from Allentown:

In repsonse to Chris's comments,  I am Matthew W. McIntyre, CEO of Puritan Financial Companies, Inc. We own and operate a Broker/Dealer, A Registered Investment Advisory Firm, a multi-state Life Insurance Agency, and a Life Insurance Company.

In response to Chris, we do provide our clients' with thorough fact finders and administrative reviews that focus on the clients health, income, and financial needs.  Your (Chris ) reference to "poor annuities" and "junk life products" is simply without truth or merit.

We have over 50,000 satisfied client households.  We are A+ rated with the BBB in each state, and are in good standing with all jurisdictions and regulators relative to our entities.

Your comment referring to us as "crooks who don't care about our clients", is beyond ridiculous and unsubstantiated.

We do refer our clients to qualified CPA's and/or attorneys to handle thier accounting or legal needs.

As to our commision rates, we offer a great opportunity to representatives of character and who posess a great work ethic.

Chris, in your "15 years in the business," it appears you still haven't found what your looking for.  We wish you successs in your future endeavors, however, your ridiculous allegations regarding Puritan and it's motives, are unfounded and unsubstantiated.

I remain,

Matthew W. McIntyre, CEO

Puritan is a joke

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 30, 2009

I have been in the finacial business for 15 years and the 3 weeks I worked for Puritan was the worst. This company is a joke. They misrepresent themselves so bad. All they do is buy old trust and have their agents go out to review the trust. These people are not going out to help the clients review the trusts, they are going out to sell crappy annuities and junk single premium life insurance.

Their agents are giving legal advice, they say they aren't but they are. Big no no. Then they tie up the clients money into products that they have no idea how they are hurting the clients.

i.e. doing a single premium immediate annuity to pay the premium on a life insurance policy. Wow double commision on the same money. What if the client need to get to the money? Can't do it, it is already annuitized. A money market or muni bond will still pay the premium and is still liquid and has less tax.

These people are crooks, they don't care about their clients. They don't even have a trust department, all that is done in New Jersey by an independent law firm.

And their commision to their agents is a crime, it is about 55-60% lower than a street contarct for the same product.

Puritan Is an excellent company

AUTHOR: Jjh1017 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 27, 2009

My name is John Hamilton and I was with Puritan (off and on) for a number of years. I can assure everyone reading this that Puritan is an honest company with a leader servant attitude towards its clients. I was the Oklahoma Area manager and later, the State Director and we always placed the highest priority on doing the right and suitable thing for our clients. Matt McIntyre (owner) and Sam Thomas (president) are terrific people and I would entrust my mother to them (if I wasn't their competion now).

The training and ethical guidlines I use with my firm today are mirror images of what I learned during my association with Puritan. I can assure everyone that Matt and Sam will personally see to it that any client who feels that they didn't receive competant, ethical and suitable guidance from a Puritan representative will be of the highest priority. In the end, it was always about doing the right thing for the client.

By the way, the "6 figure" income is absolutely acheivable. I had numerous months during which I earned $11,000-16,000! Hard and ethical work is demanded by Puritan but would you want to be associated with a firm that didn't have high standards?

Thanks to you Matt and Sam for giving me the tools to be successful.

John

Puritan is reputable

AUTHOR: Awd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 16, 2009

Puritan Financial is a reputable company and has provided competent reviews of clients' Revocable Living Trusts for many years. I am no longer an agent or employee of Puritan Financial (of my own choosing I might add). While with Puritan, I made money and had appointments set up for me as I requested. One should no work with Puritan if they do not want to work or have something to hide. They have an obligation to verify the backgrounds of those agents they are considering hiring, and to shirk this responsibility invites legal actions against them.

Working for Puritan and agreeing to come under their umbrella is not for the faint of heart. You WILL have to work and travel to towns in your state to make sure that the estate plans are in order and that they are properly funded.

Puritan is not perfect, but they strive to provide a professional environment for the agents and the clients. The person who filed the previous report just did not want to pay for the background check.

There is no free lunch, unfortunately. Puritan pays their agents and tries to give clients the best service available.

Correction

AUTHOR: Matthew W Mcintyre - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 11, 2008

I am Matthew McIntyre CEO of Puritan Financial Companies and it's subsidary Puritan Financial Group.
In response to Mr B's post the truth of the matter is that we do set 2-3 pre set appointments Tuesday through Friday for qualified agents. We do indeed have an opprtunity for qualified representatives to earn 6 figures.
Sam Thomas is clearly listed on our website at www.puritangroup.com as a Regional Vice President(He has since been promoted to President of PFG)
We do not nor will we, ask for money from a prospective agent and we never received any money from Mr Barrington.
We have over 50,000 client households and we are members in good standing with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in all the states that we do business.
We regret that Mr B has a negaive opinion of us, however his statements are less than truthful as to who we are and what we do. Please feel free to contact me or our fantastic people in our client service department at (800)513-3243.
Sincerely, Matthew W McIntyre
