P.T.T. AUTO SALES LOCATED AT 1380 N Nova Rd, Holly Hill, FL 32117 SELLS LEMONS!

AND NOT THE ONES THAT GROW ON TREES!

RECENTLY MY WIFE AND I WERE IN THE MARKET FOR A USED CAR.

BEING LONGTIME USERS OF FACEBOOK WE HAVE GROWN TO FREQUENT THE

LOCAL SWIP-SWAP GROUP'S PAGE TO FIND BARGAINS ON THE THINGS WE NEED

THAT DO NOT HAVE TO BE NEW FROM A STORE.

SO IT WAS THAT WHEN WE WERE IN THE MARKET FOR A USED AUTOMOBILE

WE FOUND THE POSTINGS OF A LOCAL AUTO DEALERSHIP NAMED:

                                                                 P. [continued below]....

.....T.T. AUTO SALES

OR AS THE OFFICIAL BUSINESS IS CALLED, PUTTING THINGS TOGETHER, LLC.

AFTER EXCHANGING SEVERAL MESSAGES WITH THE AGENT FROM P.T.T.

ESTABLISHING THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF FUNDS WE WERE WILLING TO SPEND ON A USED CAR,

THE AGENT CONTACTED ME WHILE HE WAS AT THE LOCAL AUTOMOBILE

AUCTION FACILITY TO INFORM ME THAT HE WAS PURCHASING THE PERFECT

VEHICLE FOR OUR BUDGET, AND THAT HE WOULD SEND PICTURES A.S.A.P. SO

THAT WE COULD SEE HIS WONDERFUL NEW PURCHASE.

SOON THE PICTURES ARRIVED OF AN 2008 CHEVY IMPALA LS

IT APPEARED TO BE A NICE LOOKING VEHICLE AND WE AGREED TO COME TO THE DEALERSHIP LOCATED OFF OF NOVA RD. IN HOLLY HILL, FL. THE NEXT MORNING TO GET A BETTER LOOK AT THE IMPALA.

THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE AND I MADE OUR WAY TO EXAMINE THE CAR.

BESIDES SOME EXTERIOR BLEMISHES THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE ROAD WORTHY WITH A STRONG RUNNING ENGINE.

THE AGENT FROM THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT HIS MECHANIC WAS REPLACING THE FRONT HUBS BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT ON THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THAT IF WE WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE IT WOULD BE READY FOR US THE NEXT MORNING FOR THE PRICE OF $2400

I ASKED FOR UNEQUIVOCAL CLARIFICATION THAT THE $2400 WAS THE FINAL COST FOR THE VEHICLE, TAX, TAG, TITLE AND DEALER'S FEE'S TO WHICH THE AGENT ASSURED ME REPEATEDLY THAT THE COST OF $2400 WOULD COVER EVERYTHING!

THE NEXT DAY WE ARRIVED TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE AND CONCLUDE OUR BUSINESS WITH P.T.T. AUTO SALES.

WE PAID THE $2400 AND DROVE FROM THE  DEALERSHIP IN OUR IMPALA.

FOR THE MOST PART THE VEHICLE RAN FAIRLY WELL BUT A GROWING CONCERN BEGAN TO DEVELOP WITHIN MY WIFE AND I BECAUSE THE CAR WAS INCREASINGLY STARTING TO PULL TO THE RIGHT AND A NASTY VIBRATION WAS BECOMING EVIDENT AND WORSE IN THE VEHICLE.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT IS WHERE THE DISHONEST DEALERSHIP BEGAN TO BECOME EVIDENT TO US!

I CONTACTED THE AGENT FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER WE HAD NOT RECEIVED OUR TAG OR REGISTRATION FOR ALMOST 30 DAYS AFTER OUR PURCHASE TO INQUIRE AS TO WHEN THE ITEMS WOULD BE ARRIVING?

THAT'S WHEN I KNEW WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT I HAD BEEN SCREWED ROYALLY!

HIS RESPONSE WAS THAT IF I HAD SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE DOLLARS HE WOULD FILE THE APPROPRIATE TITLE PAPERWORK FOR MY VEHICLE TITLE AND SO FORTH!

HOLD THE FU$# ON!

I MIGHT HAVE BEEN BORN AT NIGHT BUT IT WAS NOT LAST NIGHT SO THAT'S WHEN ALL THIS AIRING OUT OF THE TRUTH BEGAN.

I NOT ONLY GOT THE VOLUSIA COUNTY  SHERIFF'S INVOLVED BUT TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED BY A PROFESSIONAL AND THE RESULTS OF THE INSPECTION WERE ANYTHING BUT PRETTY.

IT SEEMS THAT THE VEHICLE HAS SUFFERED SEVERE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE EXTENT THAT THE COST TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WILL BE WELL OVER $1000, NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THE AGENT FROM THE DEALERSHIP HAD KNOWLEDGE OF THE DAMAGE AS EVIDENCED FROM THE FULL DISCLOSURE PROVIDED BY THE AUTOMOBILE AUCTION FACILITY WHICH HAS THE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE LISTED; AS LAWFULLY REQUIRED, ON THE VEHICLE STATUS REPORT AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS AUCTIONED OFF TO P.T.T. AUTO SALES.

AND THE DEALERSHIP KNOWINGLY AND INTENTIONALLY WITHHELD THIS INFORMATION

FROM MYSELF AND MY WIFE AT THE TIME OF OUR PURCHASE.

IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA

AS DEFINED IN F.S. 501.976 (5) WHICH PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING,

"Actionable, unfair, or deceptive acts or practices. It is an unfair or deceptive act or practice, actionable under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, for a dealer to:(5) Represent orally or in writing that a particular vehicle has not sustained structural or substantial skin damage unless the statement is made in good faith and the vehicle has been inspected by the dealer or his or her agent to determine whether the vehicle has incurred such damage."

You incorrectly interpreted the statute

AUTHOR: coast - (United States)

Does the Bill of Sale indicate the tag and title transfer are included with the cost of the car?

The Florida statute that you quoted states that the dealer may not represent orally or in writing that a particular vehicle has not sustained structural or substantial skin damage. Nowhere in your report did you claim that the dealer stated the vehicle does not have any structural damage. The statute does not require the dealer to inform the buyer of structural damage.
