In July of 2004 my husband and I purhased a "New Home" from Quality Craft homes. We did the walk-thru with the inspector and were told the things on the walk-thru would be done before we closed. Well closing came and went and 60 days later the basic items were not yet done. Not to mention we had no gas to cook with on our stove because they failed to connect our gas line to the appliance inside the wall.

Needless to say the wall from the outside had to be torn apart, not only the wall but they built a rock wall with a gate right in front of where the line was to be. So they had to tear down the rock wall and gate to get to the wall so they could tear that out and hook up the line. The wall stayed with a hole for 5 days and was not completely patched for several weeks and took several more weeks for it to be painted. The paint they used on the wall was not the same color as the house and they had to be called out again to rematch the paint!

Well one afternoon we came home and noticed that the house was very hot. We checked the thermostat and it read 98 degrees. We proceeded to check the water line and noticed it was never turned on so my husband turned it on and within a few minutes the entry way of the house began to leak profusely. Turns out the waterline was never hooked up the the second a/c unit and in turned ruined the ceiling, insulation, inner walls and carpeting.

It took the company a month to get this fixed after threatening a law suit. The paint was not completd inside or outside the house. The inside had patches of white all over and the outside trim was lumpy and needed to be completely redone. Well I ended up touching up inside and they sent a crew to do the outside and its worse now. They didnt sand the trim and the paint is flaking off. The grout in the master bath shower is coming off and there is a 2ft crack in my wall behind the toilet that has yet to be fixed. The kitchen counter tops laminate was loose because it was not glued down sufficiently, and the finsh on the cabinets is peeling.

They have sent the same guy over to look at the cabinets and keeps trying to tell me (I say trying because he barely speaks english) that there is nothing wrong with the finish, only two of the doors need to be touched up so they send someone to touch up. Well the guy proceeds to mix paint in an empty gatorade bottle and get this. He put the stain on with his finger!!!

Needless to say the touch up looked really bad. The finish was dull compared to the high gloss on the other cabinets. I was always under the impression that wood needed to be sanded to accept paint and re glossed after paint was dry. Not here didnt happen.

Anyway that's not all, hall bath vanity is crooked, cabinet guy (same guy as the kitchen) says its the vanity top, vanity maker says the wood unit is not level, paint on all the baseboards is chipping off. Baseboards made on MDF. Give me a break.

Spoke with the secretary and finally the owner of company. She keeps passing the buck on the contractors. Well wasn't she the one that hired these contracters. Ive spoken with the BBB. No help. and also spoke with the Homebuilers Association who referred me to the place in Austin who is supposed to be an arbitratior. NO Help!!!!

Seems the builder has the law on their side. Everyone says u have to give them time to fix the problems, but we have been in house 7 months now and not all is fixed. I just want u all to know its too late for us to get out of our contract. But buyer beware.

Do not by from Quality Craft in El Paso. If anyone else has had problems with this company please call me. Maybe we can get enough people together to do something about this company who is ripping off hard working people.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

I am having a similar experience with this company. I wouldn't wish what I'm going through with this builder on anyone! Buyers please be cautious of this builder. It's been nothing but a nightmare to deal with
