 I received a check (with watermark, disappearing/reappearing fingerprint inc. & all kinds of fancy "security guards") for $1,998.65 from Walmart Inc. with a letter offering me a secret shopper job. They have an active phone number & website. It seemed so close to being legit, but there were a couple of hints to help me see this as fraudulent, other than obviously being too good to be true. 1. The check is supposedly write from a Wachovia bank account. Wachovia is no longer in business. 2. The letter is mostly well written, but there are a few grammatical errors & typos toward the end. 3. The letter claims to be from a secret shopper company that contracts with various retail businesses, including Walmart, The Gap, & Pizza Hut, but the check is lists Walmart Inc. as the originator. 4. There are four other reports on this matter that match the description I have just provided. Interestingly enough, they are all from 2014 (around October, if I remember correctly) so it seems this scam was shut down for a while, but they're now back up & running again. My letter is dated 3/16/16
