My husband battled colon cancer for the first 10 months of 2001. A 2nd metastisis was then found in 2003. He was unable to work during this time due to extremely harsh chemotherapy treatments. As a result we fell behind on taxes and other bills, and were still catching up some 4 years later.

Quantum Financial solicited us in December 2007 with a "guarantee" that they would help to solve our back tax problems. (This guarantee is on their web site by the way). They said they could cut the total back tax amount, and had other "strategies" to help resolve the $9000+ back taxes we owed.

They indicated that they normally work with larger cases than this, so I said okay, I'll get someone else. But they said no, we want to help anyway, you've had such a rough time. I gave them $750, part of which I had to put on a credit card, but figured it was worth it if they could save me thousands in the long run.

I have numerous emails and documents indicating that Quantum would work with the IRS on my behalf, calling this a "resolution project". The first letter I received from Judd Kalush said "We are looking forward to working with you to achieve the successful resolution that you seek."

Judd Kalush 1) set us up with a payment plan with the IRS starting Jan '08, 2) in Feb of '08, had us write a letter about our struggles for an "Abatement of Penalties" to be filed, and 3) indicated he was going to refile a missing tax return on our behalf.

I detailed our struggle with cancer and finances in the Abatement letter and forwarded to Judd. I then found the lost W-2 form for the missing tax return he was going to file for us.

In April of '08, after almost hitting the 5 year mark, my husband's cancer returned in a lymph node above his clavicle bone. Once again, he could not work, and in fact, they did not expect him to survive this 3rd metastisis. I informed Quantum, and asked for an update on the "resolution project".

In May of 08 Judd's assistant emailed me "I' m sorry to hear about your husbands condition. Your abatement narrative was received and almost ready to be submitted to the IRS. Judd is out all this week. We will call you next week to see if there is anything we can do to lower your monthly payment."

Then in August '08, I was informed that Judd was no longer at Quantum and that I would need to sign new documents to work with Mike Wallen. He wanted more money to go forward in doing anything more than what had already been done, which was to set up the payment plan. The Abatement was never filed, nor was the missing tax return.

I told Mike that my husband was dying and could not work, that we didn't have more money, and that I needed their help more than ever. I asked him repeatedly to explain what service they had performed for $750, but got the run-around.

My husband had experimental, life-threatening surgery in Nov. 08 to remove the "inoperable" tumor on his neck. About this time, I received an email from Mike that he was "closing my case" since I didn't send in more money. I can't believe any person or company could be this heartless.

The only thing that Quantum accomplished was to set up with a payment plan with the IRS, something I easily could have done myself. I want my $750 back, I desperately need it.

I will definitely be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH QUANTUM FINANCIAL!

Thanks to Judd Kalush for his impeccable integrity

AUTHOR: Lyne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Judd Kalush is professional and trustworthy and should not be associated with this report in a negative way. He was the reason that we ever trusted Quantum Financial initially. After encountering their unethical practices, he left there and started his own company. He has since gone out of his way to make things right with former Quantum clients, myself included, though it is not ultimately his responsibility to do so. His integrity is impeccible, and I would highly recommend that you contact him at www.frontrangetax.com for your IRS resolution.

Response to Complaint

AUTHOR: Mike Wallen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 16, 2009

The client referenced in the complaint above hired us to complete an installment agreement and abatement of penalty on the client's behalf. The client retained our services in January of 2008.

The initial retainer fee requested was $1250.00 as indicated by the work agreement signed by Quantum Financial and our client Thomas and Evelyn Perdue. Secondly, the client paid $750.00 of the retainer fee. We have the abatement narrative in the file and cannot complete it until the remaining fees are paid.

After we informed the client the initial fees have not been paid in full and we needed to take care of this issue to move forward the client advised us she did not have the money to continue. We gave the client alternate resolution strategies that would help reduce the debt or put the debt on hold until the health of the client had returned to normal. In either case additional work would be required on top of what was already completed and not covered by our initial work agreement.

Therefore, we had a conversation that until she had the fees to continue moving forward we could not further assist her at the time. The client asked us to close her case file.
