This is a fantasy league football site, and I have been a part of it for the better part of 9 years, and I have never had a problem. Matt Dougherty took over the league, and that's changed. Customer service is poor, and the commissioner (Matt) has baited me on multiple occasions to renew leagues during the process of a trade only to let the trade fall through after payment was made. The team’s competitiveness hinges on the trade. The other team doesn’t get penalized, but my money is gone and I don’t get the trade. When I complain about it, Matt states if I complain I will be locked out. He locked me out of my leagues anyway, and I tried to make another trade in another league, and after he stated there was no refunds, he told my trade partner he refunded my money and the trade was cancelled. My money had not been refunded at that time. I have yet to receive any payment, and I have received no compensation for losing a team I have spent 8 years building. At one point I made a payment, and he stated in an email that I, in fact did not make a payment. I had the transaction record in hand and sent it back to him in the email. I paid close to $1000 for my leagues and he has barred me from making changes to my teams rendering them useless. I lost all the money and time over the years I spent building those teams simply because of Mr. Dougherty's pride.

No restraining order and quest has a policy of  not allowing teams without owners the ability to compete for money  that should be interesting at the end of the year, and I haven't been in contact since he locked me out last weekend. My end is complete he returned the money for 2016 and 2015 despite a policy not to.

No Money Received

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, November 09, 2015

Below is a summary of the emails that transpired between us, and a small narration to provide clarity to some of them. It needs to be noted I have received no money back, and I was removed from 7 leagues that I paid $630, and I paid for 4 leagues that haven't started yet, so I am out $990. I simply complained about the league taking 90 dollars for trades that were accepted then the other party backs out. I have already paid up for next year, but without that trade I wouldn't pay up for next year because my team wouldn't be competitive. Second I show that the commissioner not only disregarded any concern with this he tried to make me pay twice when I entered into another trade. Prior to that he sent me an email confirming my payment only to ask for it again, so in the emails that follow I question his competence. Furthermore, I am no longer in contact with him I am filing a legal claim.

(past history has been paying for a league because of a trade and the other doesn’t pay and I am stuck with a team that I don’t want because I am not able to make a trade, and no one is held accountable in the league) The email trail is the accounts I have involving this.

(I have documentation of other botched trades that I pay for and the other team decides not to after sitting on the trade for several days allowing other trades to go though and take the best one.)

Commish wrote: Other team needs to renew as well. I have not heard from him.

(You acknowledge above I am paid up but you insist on trying to get more money from me in later emails for the same team, and I asked for a refund on all of them and still haven’t gotten any. Furthermore, no service was received for any of that money. My money was simply taken, and I have not received anything for it, so what does that make it in the eyes of the law?) You do the math. Let me further elaborate, If I were to purchase a book from you in person, and I pay you $90 dollars for said book, and you take my money and book with you and deny me my merchandise it’s theft.

11/5/2015

You sent me a message to re-up and the trade would go through ( this was for league 16 (already paid) and a new trade to try and get something for paying for a team I didn’t want unless I could get some future help.

Email from me that day 11/4/2015

I renewed so what happened to the trade. These leagues are screwy. I have more trouble getting these trades through than anything. (Note right here I was paid up for league 16 and the whole disagreement centered around it, but you still further in our email chain ask me to pay again in later emails for this team)

Nov 4 Commish emailed:

I sent you a message earlier that the other team is not renewing so it

cannot be processed.

Later that day I emailed:

Commish,
That is being abused in these leagues. I understand the situation with the trade, but in the future can there be an adjustment to the rule, so this doesn't happen? I can think of a few ways I can use that to my advantage.

Commish writes

Nov 4: I do not plan on changing the renewal requirement. It is a pretty standard

in dynasty leagues.

I write on Nov 5: (the latter part referring to what you’re allowing in your leagues)
Your leagues suck. And you’re worse than the guy before. So from now on I’m going to make trades and sit on them and for a week and if something else pans out or someone gets hurt I am not going to pay and let it fall through

Commish wrote:

Not sure what your problem is but I don't appreciate the attitude.  I'm always open to constructive comments on how to improve the site which you have not given but I do not plan on changing the renewal policy.

My actions after that: I make another trade and pay my league fees like a good customer should do in league 74. The time of the transaction is noted, and this was paid, but you still sent me an email to pay for the next trade in the same league, but you get angry when I question your competence.

Commish wrote: (after you already knew I paid for league 16 during the first botched trade that was the whole reason I was upset as a customer).

Requires Renewal (you wrote this) at 21:34 on Nov 5

Order Confirmation

Thank you for your order, David Kintner.

Your order number is: 5131

Date of order: 11/4/2015 3:54 AM

I attached a copy of my payment on the 4th which was when the trade occurred. You might want to think about another line of work.

Commish wrote on Nov 5 5:02 PM

I do not show you as renewed.

I wrote on Nov 5

Are you F'n serious. I paid already. That is why I was adamant about the trade that fell through. WTF

I wrote on Nove 6:40 PM.

In fact I have renewed two leagues since Oct 23 and both times you almost screwed me on the trade and now you can't keep up with your finances. You parents would be proud.

You wrote on Nov 5 18:41

Anymore emails like this and you will be removed from your leagues immediately.

November 5 at around 7:11 PM I wrote:

You need to figure things out and get me credited correctly. I would like you to refund the 90 dollars I will figure out a trade that doesn't involve picks, and it would be nice if you refunded the other league as well. I will play out this year, and will not renew.  The one below is for NOV 4, and the one below that is for Oct 23. Please refund these and I will not renew my leagues. I have been in these leagues for years and they truly have become a joke.

I also sent visuals of the payments made.

The very next message you sent was: A couple of minutes later.

I wrote: Nov 5

Well it looks like you’re stuck with me. Hey I bought the domain questfantasy.com andquestfantasyleagues.com. I plan on having more than football in my leagues; probably basketball, baseball, among others.

November 6 I pay for league 74 because I did a trade that involved picks, because you already told me as aforementioned, NO REFUNDS!!

Then you reject the trade and tell the other party I asked for a refund and so I can’t make trades with picks anymore which is in complete contradiction of the your policy I have recorded in our email. I had no choice but to conduct my affairs as usual in the leagues such as 74 making a trade and paying. Your records list above you readily accepted it, and I have not received a refund although I didn’t want it at that time.

I wrote after you rejected the trade which I have documentation of:

Nov 6 email:

This is what I stated below; no insult there simply the truth. You were wrong about my renewal and someone with good customer service skills would admit there mistake, but you couldn't. Then you stated in another part of my email there were no refunds. That's in an electronic email, but today you note there are refunds and I am going to get one, but that's not what I want. I am going to keep my league as is shown with the purchase of next year. Please complete the trade in league 74, because the other team members are waiting on it.

This is my next email after you began blocking me in all my leagues with no reason because you never had any cause, and after you’re warning (this signifies your acceptance of me to continue as I was with my leagues) in earlier emails:

I wrote on Nov 6

If you are going to block trades from every one of my leagues I want all the money from my leagues back. I want you to process my trades or refund all of my money. There is no reason to block my trades. This is a formal request to please process my trades and accept my payment. I have paid a lot of money for the teams I have, and I have been apart of this league for years with no issues. I will sue your fantasy league, and you will end up paying me a lot more money than this. This is my formal request, and I will submit complaints to your vendor provider, your associations, along with the other governing bodies. You will not get away with ripping me off. If I file a libel suit here where I live you will be forced to attend the venue here. You will have to travel from Burke Virginia all the way to Michigan. I will go to my local courthouse and my attorney and file suit. I will ask for attorney fees.

My next email I wrote on Nov 6 in response to blocking me from using the fantasy teams I paid for without any cause because I asked you for a refund and you denied me because it is policy.

I wrote on Nov 6

So you essentially owe me close to $1000 I have 7 teams and I have paid 3 renewals. Please refund my money, because I refuse to be ripped off, and I will fight this with everything in me. I will not be taken advantage of by an online business.

In my opinion I have never threatened I simply attempted to get resolution to my issues as a customer, but for conversation sake you noted in your next email that “you can play out the year and leave or you can continue to threaten me and you will be removed immediately.” You have no cause here, because you issued some sort of warning prior and I have not been vulgar or threatening in any email. I am simply explaining to you my rights and what I plan to do if you take my money and run with it.

Commish writes next on Nov 6:

Trades involving future draft picks will not be processed. You can play out the year and leave or you can continue to threaten me and you will be removed immediately.  I am doing absolutely nothing wrong or illegal and I have a right to refuse service to anyone.

My next email is not threatening simply attempting to resolve a situation where you took my money and have not resolved anything r given me any service for my money. You owe me for the entire season and the fees you took from me for 2016. I have received no service for 2015 because you took control of my teams before they even made it to the playoffs and so I have no ability to receive any service which is winnings from the team. In fact, I had winnings from a few high scores as well.

My next email I wrote on Nov 6

I am not threatening you I am simply telling you I will file a lawsuit and file the appropriate complaints with the appropriate authorities. You obviously don't understand the law very well. You can refuse service to anyone but that doesn't mean you didn't do anything illegal. I am entitled to my teams and you have my money for those teams. I will file a suit and file claims against you. No threat just following the channels of the law.

I wrote on Nov 6:

You do know I have had these leagues for years, and I have no complaints with anyone. I made my request, and you have taken my money. I have also received no money from the renewals.

So from this point my leagues were worthless and I couldn’t compete. End of story. I asked to have my trade, free agent  pick up and drop restored, and allow me to trade draft picks but you decided to say you issued a refund, and I have not received it, but beyond that you have no basis for rejecting my last payment, because you already issued a warning, and nothing transpired after that whatsoever. Your pride got the best of you and now you are attempting to keep my money. Look at this communication log and see you blocked me and never once attempted to help me with my situation. To further complicate this is the fact that these are teams I have had for 7 + years with no other issues until this very moment. I have had issues with these trades where I pay and the other party doesn’t, but I chose to take the high road and not fight it. I chose to communicate it this time.

Nov 8: I simply want all of my money back because I never want to have an experience with an online service like this again. Again you need to look into a different career. Customer service or financial accountability isn’t your thing.
