Quibid is an auction site that you pay for each bids ($.60 per bid) for increments of $0.01, $0.02, or $0.05).  Most products are sold well below the retail price, however, underneath these costs, you have to multiply the sell price @ 60.

For instance, if an item was sold at $5.00 for a $50 Gift Card, the actual final value of the Gift Card would be $300.00  One winner represents several hundred loosers that had contributed to the auction.  Unless, of course you practice "Buy It Now" option.  This enables the loosing bidder to just buy the item.

With Buy it now Option, if you lose on the auction, you can actually spend the money you spent on bids towards the final value of the product.  For example, if you spent $50 on bid for an item that cost $55.00, you can just pay the $5.00 (plus highly inflated shipping cost) to have the item sent to you.

This is what I actually did.  I had participated on an auction for Nintendo Dsi XL for my son's 7th birthday gift.  I thought that even if I didn't win, it, I can just buy it using the "Buy it Now" option.

Ethan, my son's birth day is in late June, and the auction for the DSi XL was on May 6th, which would have given enough time to have it delivered to me before his party.  I had used the option for Buy it Now, and paid the difference of $98.18 along with $120 I had spent on bids which came out to be around $220.

By early June, when I didn't receive the Dsi, I contacted support and was told that to "look" for it in mail any days now.  I called again, when I didn't have it by mid June.  I contacted support and they stated that they had to "investigate" this further.  By end of June,  and ZERO returned calls or emails, I was able to get hold of their rep and had asked to have the sales cancelled and have the FULL refunds sent back to me including the money that I had spent on bids.  She had agreed to this after speeking with her "boss" and I would see the refund credited to my Credit Card.  Few days later, I received an email that they only credited the amount that I had spent on differences only ($98) since they do not refund the amount that I had spent on bids.  I had sent dozens of emails about this to support and did not receive any call backs from them.  We are currently playing silly game of hide and seek.

There is a clear statement that the bids used on items will not be refunded when the order is cancelled on their site which I clearly understand.

However, the mistake came from them for not processing the order.

Let's just use common sense.  After not receiving an item for 2 months after the item had been fully paid for, Quibids is only issuing a credit of $98 for an item that I had paid $220 to have the order cancelled????  I must be living in a very different world from employees and owners of Quibid.  Why didn't I think of this scam for my own business??  I'll take your order and get paid, and not ship out the items and only issue 50% refund back to you...  Wow. Excellent business plan, eh?

Oh, they are totally denying of any agreement that I had with them over the phone on the condition of return which they had promised me a FULL refund.  I guess their difination of FUll is "half"....  It must be in a new Webster dictionary that I seemed to have overlooked.

Sorry for the grammatical errors and spellings.  Writing from my netbook.

Quibids support is a JOKE!!!

I have to take exception with the company's rep that says that it always talks with it's customers, because that is patently false, couldn't be any further from the truth!  The only way that you can talk to the company is if you look up its telephone number using a search engine (because it isn't displayed on its website anywhere prominently or even inconspicuously) and make a long distance call.  I did this and got bounced around so many times over 25+ minutes that I was on the phone with them, that I was even more angry than before.

This company only pays lip service to the term customer service and the only thing that gets its attention are disputes filed with your credit card issuer.  That forces them to deal with the issue or lose money on the transaction.  Sadly, if this company only delivered what it promised, then it wouldn't have so many complaints.

Also, don't be fooled by the 'BBB Accreditation' that it touts because that only means that it has paid a fee to the BBB for the accreditation, not that it has a stellar record with the BBB.  How's that for a conflict of interest?  Consumer Reports has long recognized the BBB accreditation/conflict of interest and if the Consumer's Union ever did a piece on Quibids, it would get an unsatisfactory rating and would be out of business in no time.

Buyer beware of this company!  Better to save yourself time and aggravation and shop locally or buy from a reliable online company like Amazon, who has OUTSTANDING customer service!

Also bit by Quibids

I've also had several bad experiences with this company and am developing serious doubts about its integrity. Currently, I have two outstanding issues with the company, one for a gift card that was never received and another regarding a flat screen TV where I was shipped an item of lesser quality (120 Hz vs 240 Hz that was advertised in the auction).

Quibids support is not reliable, I don't know what metrics it uses because it appears that it only responds to support inquiries that it wants to, dismissing others. It claims to respond within 24-48 hours but I've had to follow up on open cases that have been dropped. Either way, this company has SERIOUS quality issues, not just an occasional slip here and there.

Also, this company 'inflates' its value pricing, pricing items well above the MSRP, e.g. just look at the pricing it uses for Apple iPads, each and every model that it auctions is much higher than what you can buy it from Apple. This is a scam!!

Lost Shipment

AUTHOR: J4me - (United States of America)

We apologize for that bad experience.  We will always talk with our customers and resolve any issues that may arise.  In your case, we believe the situation has been discussed with you and that the issue is resolved because the order can be re-processed.

As you had been informed, the item had in fact been ordered, but somehow got lost in shipping.  This is not an excuse, but rather an explanation for why the item did not reach your home in time.  We ship thousands of products every day and rarely have issues due to our great relationships with our vendors.  Feel free to always reach us via our support.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
