I inquired on the internet about refinancing our home upon my husbands return from Iraq. The object was to get all the information so that my husband could decide if he wanted to do it or not. I was contacted by a Quicken Loans Rep. named Ryan Stevenson. He used a very hard selling approach. He said that I could do the refinancing while my husband was away and that that was the best option.

He convinced me to give a $350 good faith deposit that would be refunded if for any reason the loan fell through. They sent out an appraiser who appraised our home for $36,000. May I mention that our home is 1 and 1/2 years old. The appraiser had the owner of the home wrong as well as alot of other information in the appraisal. The comps he used were two mobile homes, a 40 year old house, 11 year old house and a 7 year old house.

Although I provided Quicken Loans with Fanie Mae's appraisal quidelines whick clearly shows he did not follow the guidelines they refuse to refund the money.

Did I mention that my husband was furious when he returned from Iraq that they conducted all of this in his name with out ever obtaining a power of attorney.

For everyone elese taken for a ride file a complaint with the better business bureau. It can be done online and for free at bbbonline.com.

Dear Mrs.xxxxx

Please don't waste too much with the BBB. Quicken pays them off. Go to your Attorney General, have your husband talk to his legal office through the military. Call your local newspaper, keep calling the "banker" and his director, call client relations and ask to speak directly to Bill Emerson, CEO. Wear these scumbags down and get your money. They do not care whatsoever that they took advantage of a family protecting our country. As long as the billionaires at the top get a few more bucks! The BBB will do nothing and does not care. If a company pays them their dues, they will leave them alone.
