Quirky.com is known for copying many people's ideas, this includes copying Jeff Carter's flexible power strip design, in which case it was so similar that people started commenting on his design, asking if he sold the idea to Quirky. One thing you will notice about Quirky is they say they can't handle intellectual property from a legal prospective. I personally have submitted an idea to Quirky which was filed through a patent application a while back and has been online since Early 2011, (late 2010 to be fair). I filed an influence cliam for Quirky which is known as a request that the support staff takes in order to review if an idea is similar, (they publish their influence discussions online for the world to see), what happened is they publically called me a "spammer" and said my idea is pretty vague or they don't know much about it, even when I sent them the schematics, corresponding patent applications, and time stamps, beforehand.

The same company calling my prototyped idea vague, is the same company that gives money to people who make napkin sketches and declare it as an invention. Seems odd to me. I tried contacting them to reconsider, even though that their discussion was pretty one sides and bias. When I filed for a Small Claims court under Net-Arb to let a third party review my claim, they didn't respond to the arbitration claim so I couldn't move further to do a serious litigation against them. They litterally ignored a small claims court claim, not allowing a third party to look at it.

I currently don't have enough to afford an expensive lawyer to go to court with them, and going through court with a company such as this can take many years, and be a tedious task. They know that I don't have enough resources to do much so they just take it out against me. The whole comapany doesn't handle intellectual property properly and reviewed my claim in an unfair manner, leaving me with nothing, and leaving them with royalties for my invention.
