QVC QVC computer Tec Support Plishing sceme Bakersfield California Nationwide

Today I received a call from a foreign gentlemen identifying himself as the computer Tech for QVC.  He stated my computer was sending infomtion to them that something was wrong and QVC wanted to take care of it.  I told him there was nothing wrong with my computer but he insisted and said you probably would not know about it.  I told him I had an extended warrenty with HP on my computer but he insisted that QVC wanted to fix it for a small fee.  I ask him how much and he said he did not know. That they would take control of my computer and fix it and I would be charged by the hour. 

I ask him for his name but could not understand it as he spoke very little english.  I had the telephone number on my caller ID and it was 661-748-0240 which is Bakersfield California. 

I told him I would contact HP and have it fixed for free but he insisted that it was QVC's responsibility since I had purchased the computer from them and they wanted me to be satisfied.

I told him again I was not interested and he then ask me for the telephone number the computer was conected too.  I told him that I had said no three times and I was not interested.  He continued to insist and at that time I told him "Sir, I'm sorry but I did not purchase my computer from QVC but from Walmart."  He responded NO!, you buy from QVC.  at that point I hung up on him. 

I did a search to see if there had been complaints filed against this number and found that there had been 379 complaints filed recently. 

My wife has an account with QVC and it appears your data based has been hacked.  I do not believe you have a dedicated computer support team and that would come from the manufacture of the computer.  Within the last two weeks we did purchase a long printer cable for the computer and this may have triggered the call.

This person is prying on the uneducated and ederly who are scared to standup for themselves.  This number and call should be investigated and legal action taken against this person.
