My husband, David M called Qwest to check on prices of their newest and lowest prices if you signed up for their broadband service. After David got the information, the lady on the phone said there would be a $75.00 processing charge. David told her that we were just getting information for comparison purposes. The next thing we know, there is a debit on our bank account from Qwest for $75.00. That was about six weeks ago.

Several telehone calls later with their assurances that the money would be refunded, and we still do not have our money back. We have the banking statements showing the debited amount, but we show nothing has been credited back to our account as of this date, April 3, 2009.

#2 UPDATE Employee

Was a vendor

Qwest does do business with a multitude of vendors. It reminds me of a processing fee in which one of Qwest's vendors by the name of "White Fence" requests. They are local to Colorado Springs, so that may be a good possiblity. They charge a processing fee regardless of credit. it is always best to call to Qwest directly than going through third parties if that was the case. I work at the main office in Denver and have been with Qwest for several years and have seen these situations to arise primarily only when dealing with outside companies that are authorized resellers of Qwest.

Hi there ma'am I am a former Qwest employee and to say I am intrigued is an understatement. There is no such thing as a 75 dollar processing fee for ANYTHING. The ONLY thing that could have been was a deposit for possible bad credit history and even then the lady in question would have had to get the credit card info from your husband. IF that credit was issued to you it will be on your bill or in check form. The credit usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for it to come. I like to say the first billing cycle afterwards but it is usually the second. My suggestion to you is if u do not see it on this billing cycle or if it has not come in check form because Qwest does not redirect to a bank account or credit card account is call 1 800 244 1111 on Monday and when you do tell the prompt system to disconnect. Keep doing so til the call goes through. Now when the rep answers ask if it is the Sioux Falls office and then ask the rep to look at the notes and see if there has been a credit issued. They will ask for a history of what is going on and please tell them it is merely their job to ask this. :) If this does not work email my wife at pam.todd@qwest.com with the account info and she would LOVE to dig into it for you and get a resolution. I hope this info helps you out.
