First, they made me lose my existing long distance carrier so that I could never get my discounted rate again.
Second, they slammed me with some weird long distance company on my home phone that charged me several times the normal rate for toll and long distance, making my phone bill several hundreds of dollars (at least $300) where normally it should only be much less than $100. Only after finding out this was against the law and that they were at fault, I was able to get them to change the long distance carrier to what "I" wanted (not what they "slammed" me with) and get a refund.
Third, I called them to stop charging me for the $5 in-house repair charge that I absolutely DID NOT need. They kept arguing with me about it until I got upset and insisted that they remove it by repeating my demand every time they tried to argue against the change. For the next two months, they started charging me for TWO phone lines instead of the one that I had! This was the final straw. After being hung up on after waiting for them several times for anywhere from half an hour to more than an hour on hold, I finally got cell phones and cable internet and told QWEST a.k.a., "QWORST" to completely close my phone account and discontinue absolutely ALL service with them.
After making me lose my original discounted long distance rates, making my life horrible with the threat of unwarranted bills I could not afford, charging me double for two months, doing everything in so-called customer service to make me frustrated with long hold times and arguing incessantly, to do the most possible to make my life hell, I paid my last bill and they STILL SENT ME A ANOTHER BILL for over six dollars. Then mysteriously, they never contacted me again. THANK GOD! They probably owed me close to a hundred dollars in false charges already not to mention the loss of time, loss of previous arrangements with the other long distance carrier and emotionally abusive frustration they antagonized me with.
They should NOT be in business! I was not surprised to see the $1.5 million fine from FCC for slamming, and other fines from different states not to mention the fines on the CEO Nacchio and how he ripped off the employees, customers and the public! QWORST and its evil can go to h*ll where they belong!

Can't add Long Distance
AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

Qwest does not have the ability to add other companies for Long Distance, as there would be no benefit to Qwest. Any company that shows up on your Qwest bill that is not Qwest, Qwest has to pay those charges to the company, and then has to seek reimbursement by the customer by billing those charges on the phone bill. Only one of three things could have happened: This other (non-Qwest) company either slammed you, you were mislead into switching into this company by marketing, or your original Long Distance company went out of business, which automatically routes your long distance calls through the primary third party Long Distance provider which owns the Long Distance rights in your area thus creating a higher rate. So, if your bill got to $600, that means Qwest foot the $600 bill on your behalf to get things sorted out with this other company. Qwest can only add a Qwest Long Distance plan, and when we do, we have to send the customer over to another company, who is hired by Qwest to gain customer authorization. We have to have verbal authorization including name, triple confirmation in the form of a verbal "yes," through the automated recorded process just to add our Long Distance. I would look at that Long Distance bill and call the company on that part of the bill to dispute those charges
