This place was great when the previous owner had it, changed ownership about a year ago and things have gone down hill.

Current owner (Joe) has a attitude problem when it comes to transfers or anything not purchased from him, the gun smithing work is nothing special and is below average (another local I know who is a LEO had the same negative experience with this shop)....

Back around December/January I called asking about AR's and told him I was looking for a Colt Target Match (one of the few NJ compliant Colt AR rifles) and found one myself on Bud's, Bud's wouldn't ship it to NJ since it had a 20 or 30 rd mag and wouldn't pull the mag from the box so I asked Joe if he could find one and for what price.

I get a call back that the Target Match is XXXX amount from his supplier (Bud's, go figure), I told him to give me a day to think it over (this was over a grand) and called him back the next day and asked if he would take a credit card, told me no so I said okay let me see if I can free up some cash by selling something else and I'll call you back IF I can afford to proceed with the transaction.

Well, this guy takes the cake for being a hot headed pushy shop owner...I ended up getting barraged with calls the same day from him swearing at me and saying "If you want the ******* rifle call me the **** back I need to know by the end of the ******* day", after listening to 3 voice mails like this (all left minutes apart from each other) I called him back and flat out told him I did not want the rifle, simple.

Nope, nothing is simple with Joe at R & R, instead he accused me of wasting his time....really? I was about to purchase a rifle from his establishment and he originally agreed with me about giving me a day to think it over and free up some funds for it (remember, no credit cards and no deal/promise was made).

This guy is on a power trip...or on a trip from something else, I called today and asked about transfers rates (I purchased two SKS rifles from Classic Firearms and a Mosin)...he says "after you ****** me over the transfer cost is $145 per gun. REALLY? I "****** him over" how? I asked him what he meant and to explain:

"I see you re-sell guns on gunbroker after you buy them" to which I replied "so what?" he replies "You are ******* using me to make money!" and it mushroomed into a dispute, finally he said he would do the transfer as a "favor", no I do not need "favors".

Yes, I sell firearms from time to time on gunbroker when I'm done with them and want to buy something else. I DO NOT sell for a profit and usually take a loss.

I called the BATFE and they said no law prohibits me from selling some of my collection as a non FFL (as I enjoy buying something, shooting it a bit and moving on to something else).

I'm taking my business elsewhere, this guy is crude, rude, pushy and arrogant.

Joe Goldberg: Liar

AUTHOR: Mike - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, June 28, 2015

You, Joe Goldberg, are a disgrace to gun owners in South Jersey. I should have followed the advice given to me by other SJ gun owners to AVOID R&R after hearing how others were treated.

You have no right to disclose my full name on this website, the only way you would have access to my full (given) name is from ATF form 4473 or the New Jersey State Police COE form. Disclosing this information and the contents of those forms is illegal. I will peruse civil damages should I be harmed by the release of my personal information in blatant violation of Federal Law.

As a business owner having your name disclosed shouldn't come as a surprise as it is printed on business cards and promotional material (online, ie FaceBook), available from the tax office (Somers Point City Hall), etc. but disclosing a clients personal information from Federal/State forms is ILLEGAL and you are contributing to identity theft.

What did I lie to you about? nothing, that's what.

I am sure you have many happy customers, Joe, since you threaten customers who have anything negative to say about R&R and publish the customers information online as an act of retaliation.

Also, you really shouldn't write reviews for your own business, that's being a shill. I have seen the FaceBook page and find your reviews (as the owner) distasteful, some might say it is also false advertising.

I NEVER purchased/sold firearms for a profit, I had purchased many long-arms that I no longer had a desire to shoot, many were in poor condition/Military surplus and I sold them to fund new acquisitions.

You DO NOT require an FFL to sell a firearm, I am not "in business" and sold from my PERSONAL COLLECTION and FOR A LOSS. How is that being "in business"? I actually attended a gunsmith school last year, since then I fix my own firearms and fortunately for me I no longer rely on commercial gun smithing services. I am not a licensed gunsmith (I do not hold a FFL) and perform work on my firearms only and not on firearms owned by others. I am in compliance with State/Federal Law.

Joe, I speak the truth and you hate that. Why? I have given detailed information about our business encounter and even have recordings of the crude voice-mail messages you left me. Real professional of you.

It's a real shame you lost out on my business and I had to take it elsewhere, since our last encounter I have had many transfers done of long-arms/pistols to further enhance my collection and I'm glad to see that money going to someone who is mature enough to run a business, know the laws, and value the customer.

False Report Should be retracted.

Yes  I get that this guy Mike Michael James is upset He didn't get his way.

His treatment was not as stated.

Much more is missing and when he lied  to me about something I stopped it by pulling the plug on him.

This is my business and I have many many Happy customers but you cannot satisfy everyone.

Check out R&R's Facebook page.

I don't want to go in to it but the kid may have been walking a very thin legal line which I told him I was uncomfortable with.

He stated to me that (He was fixing up the guns he was buying on gun broker and selling them back on gun broker for a profit.)  He could have ben bragging but he is not a gunsmith or gun dealer and he was creating considerable liability for himself.

Almost all his post is inaccurate entirely unverified and libelous.
