When I put my house on the market, I hired Dandelion Moving and Storage in Fort Collins,CO ,and they required a $1000 moving deposit to 'guarantee availability' when I had confirmed moving dates.

I was unable to sell the house and removed it from the market.

Dandelion has not refunded my deposit, despite my having gotton a judgement against them in small claims court(deposit + costs).

Bret Lamperes, the owner of Dandelion, has been jerking me around for over a year now with promises he will pay the money he owes me. Every month it's a different story !

This guy now sells real estate for Remax in Fort Collins and offers a 'Buy with me ,move for Free' deal to his clients. He tells me that he is liquidating the moving company , but his business card has his moving offer on it, and a picture of a Dandelion box. His current voice mail message reiterates the 'free move 'offer.

I want to warn people not to do business with this man.

Daughters Input

AUTHOR: Riley Lamperes - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 03, 2013

My name is Ryleigh Lamperes I am 20 years old and I am currently working with my father, Bret Lamperes, as his assistant for Adroit Realty. Although I was not involved with the claims Susan holds against my father I can inform anyone that has read these claims that she has a false judgment of his character. Bret is a great owner, father, boss, and best friend. Bret Lamperes is a hardworking man that will do whatever he needs to to make ends meet and in an honorable way.

I was always young when my father owned Dandelion Moving and Storage but it didn’t take a lot to see that owning a business was never easy. Being responsible for running a company was super stressful and it was not any easier running a hard labor required company. The responsibility and stress never kept Bret from being a great boss or owner. Growing up I remember my father being upset a few times because a crew damaged furniture but my father was always the man to make everything right even if it meant paying for the damage right out of his own pocket. Almost all customers left happy. A few would even show up for the BBQs we would have in the parking lots and play a few rounds of basketball. We would hold Christmas Parties every year. A christmas tree with envelopes clipped to the branches held large bonuses for the employees. Everyone would leave would a full stomach, full pockets, and a happy holiday.

Although Bret has always been a busy business man he has never been too busy to fulfill his part as a father. Growing up he has always made time to watch me sing and encouraged me to take the higher road when I was in tough situations. Growing up I had some issues in school and he never failed to help pull me back on my feet when I fell down or lost hope. Bret has always made time to even coach for all three of my brothers in almost all the sports they participate in. in 2006 Bret was in a serious accident. He severed his colon, lost half the blood in his body, and was in ICU for some time. Not too long before he had decided to sell Dandelion and Storage. With piled up debt from the Dandelion, medical bills, and a constant need to feed 6 mouths.. my dad didn’t get much time to heal from his accident. Going right back into the battle field he was working to get his license in Real Estate which isn’t easy to start up in and with no income we had our fingers crossed! My dad REFUSED to file bankruptcy because he wanted to do the honorable thing and pay everyone off that he owed money to. When a law suit was filed against us forcing us to use the last of our money we were keeping to tread on water we were forced to file. My dad was upset but he still made ends meet in the end.

Currently being employed for Bret, I can inform anyone that questions his ability to get a job done and make you a happy client that he is a man of his word. Before leaving my job at the Island Grill as a server I discussed the position with my father. He has followed through with every promise he has made to me. Our agreement was that I would have a flexible schedule, get paid every other week, and that he will pay for my license. Bret has also always reimbursed me when I run to get things for the office. As a Real Estate Agent he has always gone out of his way to meet clients for showings, search all sites to find them more home opportunities, written and terminated contracts with no complaint over and over for the same customer. His genuine goal is to place his clients into a home they can call their dream home and see themselves living comfortably in. If you search his name on Zillow he has nothing but positive reviews from his clients.

My dad is my best friend and I don’t take kindly to anyone talking bad about him for any reason. We all make mistakes and regardless of my dad’s mistakes, my dad is superman in my eyes and always will be. Maybe Susan’s accusations are true? But he certainly doesn’t deserve to be bashed by anyone over the internet. Out of the many lessons he has taught me the one that stuck most was that being bitter and holding on to the past will do nothing for you. This is mainly for Susan because maybe you can learn to let this go and move on with your life instead of bashing Bret publicly which is trashy and has done nothing for you except lead you to vent your feeling on this website like a little girl. Keep it classy and handle your business with him personally and if you can't get results well you’re a big girl and I am sure you can go on with your life without falling into the same silly internet journal everyone my generation is falling into. God Bless.

Dandelion Moving - Still no refund-Contempt motion pending

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 16, 2007

Mr. Lamperes is angry about this posting and has threatened not to pay me unless I redact it. I will update it when he pays me.

He has stated that he has no "legal" obligation to repay the deposit.I believe the court's judgement constitutes a "legal" obligation, and his (Dandelion is incorporated and he is the CEO) failure to refund the money is equivalent to theft.

I am sorry for his accident, but that was about two years ago. he now works as a realtor ,and currently advertises a moving deal with Dandelion .

Bad time to move

AUTHOR: Bret Lamperes - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 19, 2007

In September of 2006, I was in an accident and sustained serious internal injuries. I had tried to sell the moving company two years prior, but the buyers failed, and I ended up getting the business back. The accident was the last straw, so I shut the company down. This was my primary source of income, but due to the nature of my injury and the fact I was unable to perform the neccessary duties required as the business owner, we shut the doors.

Closing a business is harder than starting one. Loose ends are everywhere. Susan called and I explained the situation and she explained hers. I personnally did not have the capital to take care of corporate debt, and the corporation had no money. She went to court and got a judgment against the corporation. Knowing this was somewhat worthless, I told her that I would take care of the matter out of my own pocket. The judgment was in May I believe, and I am just getting healthy phsically and financially. I had to borrow over $50k just to survive over the past 10 months. I have almost repaid the friends and family that kept me and my family alive during our crisis.

I sympathize with Susan for this long, drawn-out process. I have integrity and honor. I will take care of this matter, but it can't be at the expense of not putting food on the table for my 4 kids. We are blessed to have personal assets that we are liquidating, and from this liquidation Susan will get her deposit back.

I think I am going above and beyond by covering a debt of an old corporation that I am not personally liable for, but I feel it is the right thing to do. I don't want to take part in taking money from someone that did not get the services they were paying for. I anticiapate having this resolved in the next few weeks. I only wish Susan would have called me before posting this complaint. There are two sides to every story, and Susan has a right to be upset, but I am going out of my way to personally resolve the matter of a dead corporation.
