I am writing this report to warn my fellow brothers and sisters about Rabbi Dr. Baruch Amiri. I am not doing this to attack this rabbi, but simply because I don’t want anyone else to go through what me and my friends have gone through. Perhaps after reading this, he will do some soul searching and change his ways.
There are certain things that manipulative counselors do, that are professionally and ethically unsound. They make guarantees. They're critical of your behavior and use their personal opinions to shame you. They blame you and your family. They try to keep you in therapy against your will.  They put their hands on a female client. Sometimes they even forget your name and mix up sessions. The worst ones will intentionally manipulate you and and your family. Why? Because they’re money-driven. It’s the same reason that perhaps cures don’t get released. Because there is more money in keeping people sick. In this case, there is more money in keeping families and couples torn apart. After all, if the counselor fixes their issue in one session, he’s out of business. With all that said, I believe that Dr. Baruch Amiri, intentionally tried destroying our relationship in order to keep me and my family coming back and paying him.

Here is my story. I lived on the East Coast, but moved to the Los Angeles area last year. I’m a conservative woman who’s in her mid 20’s. My father’s an orthodox Jew and family values mean a lot to me. I recently got married and was excited for my new life. But now my husband is questioning everything and it’s only because of this rabbi. Perhaps he’s interested in me for himself!? I don’t know!

 When I first met him, he seemed nice and fair. Educated. He came from Vienna. I trusted him.  But then something felt off during our first session.  Some of my others friends started to tell me about the immoral things he’s done to them, and warned me to stay away.  I know of 4 couples that broke up because of him. Coincidence? I think not. This guy’s a politician. He infuses fear into parent’s hearts and makes money off of them.

Another thing that manipulative counselors do when they’re working with couples 1-on-1 is they tell the guy one thing and tell he girl something else, in order to create strife and create more drama.  More drama. More money.

As a therapist, he’s not allowed to do that nor tell couples they need to get a divorce. He tells people what to do, and this breaks the code of conduct for this profession.

I even heard of one story where he told a female that she should have sex with another guy to save her marriage. What? Really?

Now personally? I forgive him. Thankfully, he didn’t do anything that horrendous to me. Perhaps because I stopped seeing him very quickly before he sucked me in. I’m glad I followed my intuition; especially with all the other stories I ended up hearing about him. He just gave me a creepy feeling from the beginning and was too touchy-feely with me.

I plead for the Persian community, and really anyone for that matter…Please find someone else. There are plenty of amazing rabbis and counselors out there who are pure in their heart. He’s not one of them.
