Radio Shack purchased $200.00 Phone (AT&T) from Radio Shack, purchased a $60.00 2 yr. insurance policy for phone, clerk told me it was better than AT&T could offer, had phone 5 months, it was defective, slider broke off. They told me that was not covered. At&T also told me the same thing. Ft. Worth Texas
*Consumer Suggestion: Insurance vs. Warranties
purchased a LG Slider Phone, supposed to be heavy duty, from Radio Shack in the Sams Club. paid $200.00. Also purchased at the same time an insurance policy which I was told would cover the phone for anything that was wrong with it, that was $60.00 for 2 yrs. coverage.
5 months after the purchase, the slider broke on the phone. Now they told me that was not covered. As well as At&T said they had nothing to do with it, altho I have been an At&T customer for 12 years. I will never buy another thing from Radio Shack or and insurance policy for a cell phone.

Radio Shack does not sell "insurance policies" for cell phones. Radio Shack sells "service plans" (also sometimes referred to as "extended warranties"), some of which do not cover physical damage.
They provide brochures which detail what the warranties do and do not cover at the time of purchase. It is also available on their service plans web site (RSServicePlans.com).
