I received a phone call from Ramada Plaza Resort indicating that I had won a free all inclusive package for myself and 3 other ppl on a 9 days vacation which included 4 days in Orlando, 4 days in Fort Lauderdale, and 3 days Bahamas Cruise, free 7 days car rental, and tickets to Orlando Universal Studio. After giving me this information, they soon tranferred me to another department so that they could take in all of my information. When I spoke to the next agent, they indicated that in order to secure this free package, I had to make a small down payment of $698US. When I told them that I didn't have the credit card to make this deposit, they told me that the prize would move onto another lucky individual unless I was able to provide them with a credit card number. I then decided to give them my mother's credit card information believing that this money was a temporary deposit and that it would be returned to me upon completion of reservation. They then transferred me onto another department in order to obtain my credit card information. The biggest problem was the agent I spoke to next. The lady I spoke to kept mumbling her words and I had no idea what she was saying the whole time I spoke to her. It seemed as though she had verbal disabilities and I did not want to discourage or affend her in any way, so kept asking her her to repeat herself and not being able to clearly understand the information she provided for me, I went ahead and gave her my mother's credit card information. After a month, I received my package and little did I know that this package was a ripoff of the century. Nothing that was promised to me was included in the package! As you might've guessed, $698US wasn't a a deposit money that would be returned to me but it was the cost of this trip. Basically, what I received for the $698 US I paid for was 3 nights hotel stay in Orlando & 3 nights hotel stay in Fort Lauderdale...and both hotels are these rundown, 1 star hotels with worst ratings which costs average of $49 per night. Here is one of the address they gave me for the hotel where we would stay. Ramada Maingate West: 7491 Irlo Bronson Memorial HWY 192, Kissimmee, FL 34747. Of course I kept calling them to get my money back but by the time I called them, a month had gone by and there was no way for me to get my money back. I kept calling them for refund but whenever I spoke to an agent, the phone either got "disconnected" or if they had enough of your complaining, they would rudely hang up on me. I did manage to get a letter that indicated that if I am not satified with the trip, I would receive 100% money back but this probably is another one of their scam and I am too scared to waste any money to get down to Florida. I have until the end of July, 08 to use up this package... I don't know what I should do!!

In reference to the consumer from Canada about the cost for the vacation offered:
The travel coordinator notified the consumer that they had won one of our complimentary cruises in their participation in a survey. The travel agent gave their presentation of the complimentary cruise awarded. They were also offered an OPTIONAL extended vacation package to go with their cruise because of the distance they were traveling for their cruise. The cost of the package is clearly stated at the time it was offered. It is then confirmed by the verifir whom produces an audio receipt for the consumer.

At no time, was the package offered free. The consumer must agree to the total cost at the time of the verification process in order for it to be processed. Most of the resorts have since been remodeled. In addition, our cruise ship was most recently voted #1 by Port Magazine for quality in service and best cruise to Nassau Bahamas.
