I too, was promised a luxury vacation. I paid $698 for the package including 7 days in Florida with the cruise and several other bonus vacations.

After purchasing, I researched it and found this website. Awful stories of bad hotels, sales pitches, people stranded on islands, etc, quickly changed my mind. Of course, I wanted to cancel. So I called and got a very nasty sales person, who finally promised me half of my money back, after asking me all amounts of personal questions about why I wanted to cancel, and then basically telling me I was stupid for believing a website.

I faxed Dan Lambert my complaint and contacted the Florida Division of Consumer Affairs.

Later on in the day, I called back again, I got a much nicer girl on the phone, who told me that there was a 3-day grace period for a full cancellation. She cancelled my reservation and gave me a no cost 4 day trip to one of locations. I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to use it or not yet.

The point is, I did get my money back, so if you are reading this and you are in the 3 day period, call and tell them. They will not tell you abou the grace period themselves. If you are past 3 days, write a letter and fax it to Dan Lambert; this worked for many people.

Just for fun: A few other things I learned while researching RPR:

The salesperson is required to keep you on the phone for 18 min, or they will lose part of their pay. Keeping you on the line makes you feel comfortable. right

The "tour" of the "development" you have to take is actually a very very pushy sales pitch for you to buy a time share for an outrageous $30 grand. One woman said she was practically cornered by the salesman, and had to say no at least 15 times.

I'm not so sure about this one, but i read it a few different places. Apparently, RPR is not Ramada, the trusted hotel name. It started out that way, by Mr. Lambert somehow fanagled his way out of it. Ramada is now in a dispute with RPR to get back their reputation.

At any rate, something fraudulent is going on.
