While on the web, a Windows Network Defender window popped up with a Message from Webpage, dialogue box that does not allow you to exit even if you click “OK”. It says "A browser lock is in place to prevent further infection of your network and the networks of others. Call +1 844 710 0803 (TOLL FREE) for immediate assistance.

When I called a foreigner asks a few questions about what you were doing and what type of computer you have. Then asks if he can login with you to clean up the errors. After walking you through various screens, showing network errors (btw, he showed me my Norton Antivirus was working and up to date) he tried to sell me on the cleanup package for $99. Or for longer periods of protection it would be $149 for 2 years and another higher options for 3 years.

I convinced him to remove the screen that was blocking me (without charge) and he said it would only last for a few days. Amit, his name was Amit, gave me his phone number to call him back before it happened again to pay him for the protection. The number he gave me was: 8775146954. My fear now is that he may have deceived me by putting a "program" on my computer that may put my whole life at risk. All of my personal information (financial, medical, pictures, etc.) are on that computer. I don't know what to do or where to get help.?.? My computer is fairly new; to buy a new computer, and scrap the one I have would be costly. That may be my only option for total security.

I was searching job boards when the popup block my screen. I wish I knew which job site Ratchet is in cahoots with.
