How can I start?  Well,  let's say that my poor 82 year old father hired this idiot for a divorce.  He jerked my dad around more than I care to admit.  He charged him just about every time he could:  if Grimm sent an e-mail there was a charge of $50 to $80,  a quick phone call would be anywhere from $150 to $200, if Grimm sent a letter a charge of $60 to $100,  if he inadvertently picked up the phone this joker would charge $250 to $300.  My dad always paid him too.

Grimm did everything he possibly could to pad fees.  I think it was because he was such a lousy lawyer that had such a small client base that padding a bill was the only way to make a living.  He openly mocked people who make a six figure salary,  which really pissed me off because I was making that type of salary 15 years ago.  Too bad he could not acheive that status at his age.  Charging for this and that was the only way this clown could make any type of living.  His office is disorganized.  Nothing gets filed in the right place.  On top of that,  every "legal" thing he told us turned out to be untrue.  This is the way he operates.  Darn,  if you go to law school you should know a little something about law don't you think?  Not so with the Grimm reaper.

I did not want to make it harder for my dad,  so I hung in there for his sake.  Until,  I could not take it anymore.  How did I get rid of this incompetent fool you ask?  Simple, I faxed him a l letter stating that my father would be running out of money (told him my dad only had $6k in credit left) and the idiot took the bait.  Next thing I know,  I get a fax that he was dropping my father!  Yes,  there is a God!  This loser dropped my father citing that my dad did not pay his bill and that the "client-attorney" relationship was so deteriorated and he had to drop this case.  What a lie and joke.

All I can say is stay clear of this idiot.  He will take your money and run.

I assured my father all would be right and got him the best lawyer money could buy.  My dad is still having problems with the divorce as Grimm has not complied with getting all the records to my dad.  But this will,  hopefully,  be setteled in a few days.  Get This:  my dad's new lawyer has to go to his office to pick up the file.  Grimm is a real loser and no one knows that better than my dad who unfortunately forked  $12,000 over to Grimm.

Response to the Grimm Report

AUTHOR: Elicia - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, February 19, 2014

I, as an employee of Mr. Raymond Grimm, would like to address some of these False allegations. First, Mr. Grimm is a highly competent attorney who would never "jerk" someone around.

Second, Mr. Grimm is a professional and being an attorney is his business. He charges for representation, as all attorneys do. His rate is 250$ an hour, which is extremely reasonable for an attorney as some can go upwards of 400$ an hour. Mr. Grimm has been working as an attorney for 22 years and instead of charging outrageous fees for his experience and expertise, offers affordable representation. I personally have seen him work PRO-BONO on multiple cases as well as work with clients who are struggling financially and can not afford to make payments. No Attorney will work all cases for free, otherwise how would they continue to run a business? You can Not just walk into a THERAPISTS or "DOCTORS" office and expect continued free advice or counseling. Mr. Grimm even continues to offer a free intial consultation, which many attorneys do not anymore.

Third, I can guarantee your statement that "every legal thing he told us turned out to be untrue" is a completely FALSE accusation. I personally have seen him do extreme legal research and demonstrate exemplary knowledge in the legal field. While there is no guarantee of any legal outcome ( as Mr.Grimm informs all clients), Mr Grimm continues to stay informed of changing laws as well as using his 22 years of expirience and will offer the different secnarios available and decide With the client which option is best for them individually.

Finally, I believe I know who this is and am shocked, appalled and very disappointed in the actions taken by you. We treat our clients with courtesy and respect and I have worked very closely with many people in sensitive situations. And if you are who I think you are, it would include your father. Whom I showed almost daily personal attention as you were not here with him and I treated him like he was my own father, guiding him through the painful process. Some clients are extremely emotional and or lonely during times of divorce and require/ take more personal attention then others. This unfortunately will incur extra legal fees as it is time spent with the client. Reviewing or requesting the same documents with a client multiple times will incur additional legal fees, as will sitting and providing daily emotional support. Clients are well aware of the hourly rate and Mr. Grimm works avidly to avoid any additional fees. Including employing services of a paralegal at a reduced rate for clients. I love my job and will never stop providing emotional as well as legal support. I can say that not all time is billed to the client. I have spent a great deal of time with many clients who were emotionally upset due to circumstances and they were NEVER charged for it. Such will continue, as Mr. Grimm is a human being with a large heart, who's goal is to help people. As I initially stated, Mr. Grimm is a highly competant attorney who strives to provide the best to all of his clients.

I am sorry you felt so inclined to write such a nasty report. I hope your father was able to conclude his divorce positively and is doing well.

A Grimm Joke

I interviewed around 6 very promininet lawyers in order to find a replacement for Grimm.  Every one of those lawyers said that a divorce should cost around $10k - Grimm charged way over that with no end in sight for a divorce settlement.,,,what he charged was highway robbery!  AND all of the lawyers I interviewed said that Grimm moves around a lot...a sign of instability and dwindling client base. Keep your eyes open..the guy is scamming you wth a :).

Competence and Integrity

Mr Grimm has represented my family's estate for the past 7 years. I was quite disturbed to read the complaint on your website and would like to file a rebuttal and explain the relationship I have had with Mr Grimm. Mr Grimm was referred to me by the Florida Bar 7 years ago. I was told that he was a competent attorney in good standing. After meeting with Mr Grimm, I felt he was easy to talk to and he had my best interest at heart. He has represented my family's estate for the past 7 years and continues to offer assistance with family and civil law matters. I can honestly say that he is very competent in the practice of law. His rates are very comparable to other attorneys in the North Port/Sarasota FL region. In speaking with Mr Grimm, I have asked why does he continue to practice in the small community of North Port and not a larger city like nearby Sarasota or Tampa and he simply replies that he prefers to practice in North Port to assist residents in the very community that he has been a part of for the past 11 years. He relocated his office from Sarasota to North Port to provide his prospective clients assistance in their very own neighborhood. Personally, I am very happy Mr Grimm relocated to the North Port area. I believe if Mr Grimm's sole purpose of practicing law was to charge enormous fees, he would have continued to practice in Sarasota were clients' income are substantially higher than those in the North Port area. I don't believe one client's experience should tarnished a well-respected attorney's reputation and this is the reason I was so compelled to provide another opinion.
