Here is my account with these scam artists called RD Group International:

On the week of December 3rd, 2007 I received an email from a certain Mr. Nicolas Martin and he informed me that he worked with an agency and asked my permission to forward my resume to this agency, RD Group International. I said yes and forwarded Mr. Martin my resume. A few days later a woman by the name of Susan called me and asked if I would be interested in an interview. I said yes so a day or two later Mr. Morgan Shaw, Senior Director called me and asked if I could visit them. After having some previous bad experience with a so called 'Executive Search' company, I immediately asked him whether the client (company) or the candidate (job searcher) pays for their services. Mr. Morgan Shaw did not give me a definitive answer, and he mentioned that some fee may have to be paid by the candidate (that is me). I told him as well that I had bad experience before a company and I also mentioned Haldane in Toronto in the past, telling him that they were not in business anymore since they were scamming candidates. Mr. Morgan Shaw seemed to be surprised at this 'revelation' and said something like that his company would not operate that way. We agreed on an interview.

Two days prior to the interview I called Mr. Morgan Shaw and told him that I wanted to ask more questions. He did not want to get into that type of conversation and told me that all my questions will be answered when I go in. I told him if he does not give me answers then I will cancel my interview. Interestingly, at this point he said that he, himself, gave a second thought and, since I had some bad prior experience, he would cancel the interview as well. This is what we agreed on.

My comment: do not fall into the trap to go in without asking a few tough questions, such as:

1, Can you explain the process to me?
2. What are your deliverables? What are your fees? Who pays your fees? If they ask you (the candidate) to pay the fee. forget it, they are scamming.
3. How do you operate - please tell me step by step what will happen after the first interview
4. Never make a decision on the spot - if their services is so good, they should be able to explain to you in every detail and then most likely you would go back. Never pay the $5,000 on the spot.
