Received plain envelope today post marked Canada with no return address. Much to my surprise there was a check enclosed for $3645.00. Attached letter was on cheap copy paper with a ripped off Reader's Digest logo. The address was 1567 Broadway, New York, NY, 10036. Quick Google search put the address near Music City Hall of Fame I think. The phone number 647-994-1534 came back as a cell phone in Toronto, On.

The letter stated that I had won $125,000 and that Reader's Digest was having problems contacting me. It was very important that I contact them regarding my claim. There was a bunch of lotto numbers  with references to drawings and prize slots. Pretty much a bunch of garbage. I was instructed to keep my winning confidential to avoid disqualification.

The last part stats that "the enclosed check for $3645.00 is part your winnings and has been sent to you to help you cover any insurance and processing charges. The total amount is $2981.10 to be paid through Western Union."

The letter then gives office hours and contact information. "Contact Your Agent: Adams Wilson 1-647-994-1534 to activate your claim before you deposit the check at your bank, this is very important." There is then a photo of Tony C. Mino, Vice President, Global Operations.

The check is drawn on BBVA Compass. I have a call into them alerting them to the scam drawing on their bank.

Hope these idiots are sought out and persecuted.
