Received a letter stating my name was drawn for lump sum award. It included a check for $4000 to cover expenses to claim my award. It was a very legitimate looking check from AIG Annuity Insurance Company. The bank it was drawn on, BNY Mellon of De. is legitimate however the check was fake.
I was instructed to call Peter Gilane or Nancy Brown before depositing. When I did and told them of the scam, they hung up or transferred me to a dead line.
