Received a letter from Readers Digest Seattle, Wa. informing me that I have won $117,052.00 from their recent sweeptakes drawing on 02-05-09. Enclosed was a check for $3,967.00 from AIG Annuity Insurance Co. drawn on Melon Trust of Delaware. This letter was signed by "Ben Hainsworth" prize disbursement. You are required to call Brian Gibson or Brenda Pendleton @604-537-4542 to activate the claim before depositing the $3,967.00. Called the number and was asked for a reference #, whether I wanted a lump sum or annuity, whether I wanted to be announced publicly or privately, and was told that I will get a call on Friday (today is Wednesday). Out of curiousity I had my bank verified the validity of the check and was informed that it was no good. When I informed Brian Gibson about his activity scamming people, he just hang up the phone. I kept calling him back and he kept transferring my call to an answering machine. I did not loose anything but wants everyone to know that the check looks good that even my bank was impressed about it.
