I am a Real Estate agent. I signed up with RealEstate.com (a service of Lending Tree, LLC) to receive real estate leads in my area for 6 months. Services were to include auto respond email, text messaging/phone call when a lead came up in my area. I was to be billed $199.95 between 18-20th of each month for the duration of my membership.

The leads have all been junk. I understand that you have to work your leads, but there should be some kind of filter from those internet surfers just entering junk info to move through the website. 60+ leads, phone msgsemails-- mailings and ---6 months and $1,200.00 later, not one valid lead.

They had a major over-haul of their computer systems. The website where I managed my leads and account drastically changed, my email and auto responder changed, as well as my billing. Billing became more and more inconsistent, I was over charged for leads that I did not receive and in the month of February 2006, Lending Tree accessed my American Express account 5 times on 5 different days.

Over the past 2 1/2 months, I have spent over 6 hours on the phone with their "Customer Care" reps. When decided that I wanted to cancel my account after the 6 months. (really way before, but I was stuck under a contract) You can't cancel over the phone, you can't cancel via snail mail or emailit MUST be a faxed cancellation request. I did that.

They continue to bill me, $50-80 more the last two times. I have written them numerous emails --I have sent several faxes...and re-faxed, because they are quick claim they did not receive them. I have been disputing a charge to my credit card for over two months now. I was told by an account rep that she saw where the problem was, and that it would be submitted and resolve. That was mid-February. Today, I called to check on the status of my "refund" and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, was told that the people that were that were handling my claim no longer work with the company.

Today, again I was asked to send copies of "confirmation" of faxes--emails--make phone calls. I did all that was requested of me. Before even receiving and reviewing the proof that they had asked for today, CASE CLOSED! They wrote that they regret there is nothing that they can do.

THE WORST AND MOST COSTLY MISTAKE I'VE MADE IN A LONG TIME WAS DEALING WITH THESE FOLKS.
