Today was a real eye-opener!!! I went to my credit union to deposit my "economic stimulus" check. While I was there, I decided to get online banking. I came home and immediately logged on to see how it worked. Imagine my surprise at seeing $39.90 removed from my account every month since December!!! That is $239.40!!! I had no idea who the company was, so I tried calling them. Apparently I ordered a "free" CD from them and paid $1.90 for shipping. I remember it well. My husband was out of the state and I was being harassed at all times of day and night on both my home and cell phones, so I finally said "yes" to get the stupid company off my back. As soon as I got the CD, I threw it away, unopened. Little did I know that the "terms and conditions" were all hidden in tiny print on the inside of the CD case.

I was charged $39.90 for six months before I got online banking. Yesterday I racked my chemo-brain for a company that was taking so much money from me (I do have charities that I give to on a regular basis), but I couldn't think of one, so today I Googled "Passive Profits." I'm sure most of you have tried that, as well. They're horrible!!! I have never seen so many negative things written about a business before!!! I called my credit union, and a sweet gal there told me to go to the police station and file a fraud report.

I decided to call Passive Profits one last time. After about 15 different menus, I was speaking to a real, live person. She explained to me that my ordering the CD was the beginning of a business relationship, as outlined in the CD packaging. She couldn't refund any of my money, and she wasn't sorry! I told her thank you very much, I needed to go so I could get to the police station before they closed so that I could file a claim against her super-stellar company.

Suddenly I was talking to her supervisor, who offered me $118 back. I took it, and now, a half hour later, I am ashamed. My children have suffered from this. When my daughter wanted to go to a slumber party, I told her no, because we had no money to buy a birthday gift. Well, we would have if Passive Profits hadn't been STEALING from us!!! If I had just pressed a little harder about how difficult it is to raise two children, alone, on $1023 a month, plus a house payment I can't get out of because we're upside down on the mortgage, plus a car, PLUS my medical bills, for which my insurance co. hasn't reimbursed me in 6 months, maybe I could have gotten my other $122 back. Don't make my mistake! They were dishonest and evasive with me, so I say, let's treat them how they obviously think we deserve to be treated!!!
