In August, my husband and I signed up online at RealtyTrac.com for their 7 day free trial. We had to provide a credit card for verification. We cancelled within the 7 days but our card was charged on 8/9 for a month's service. We had to file a dispute with the credit card company, which we won.

We thought that was the end of it, but on 9/9 a mysterious charge for $39.99 appeared on our statement from REAL ESTATE PROMOTER. I've tried to call the number on my credit card statement but just get a recording. I filed a dispute and again we were credited for the charge. They charged us again on 10/9 - now we have no choice but to cancel our credit card. I will also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for both companies in both cities. (Lotta good that will do.)
