*Consumer Comment: Rebates can be a pain...but I don't believe it is Circuit City's fault
I had purchased a I/O magic dvd writer for thanksgiving.I got all the rebates from CC but this one serviced by rebateservices.com never made it. I have tried contacting them by phone (which always goes to a voice mail) and via the contact us email form but no response.
I tried contacting Circuit City who said they did not control this rebate and i had to contact rebateservices for the rebate. this is a big scam. I have checked a couple of online forums and seems like rebateservices does not send the cheques. Circuit city should stop doing business with these people at i/o magic

I have been dealing with these people for months. They have only 2-3 customer reps who operate the same way. They will place you on hold after taking your info and never answer. They also promise to call back after they"research" your info. They also screen phone #'s to send frequent callers to the automated call line.
Circuit City is liable for this as well, they made the contracts with the company and placed the advertising for the product. I dont believe anyone actually gets their rebate.

Please put all info including contact info for the rebate company regarding the Circuit City IOMagic double $50 rebate from 11-24-2006 (Black Friday)on your complaint. That way we can contact the rebate company and circuit city to register our complaints as well. I currently cannot find my copies with contact info but I was also ripped off on the Circuit City IOMagic rebate!

I have had some similar issues with rebates before. That's why some stores are slowly moving away from them, and giving you the rebates instantly.
Ihave a $50 rebate due to me from I/OMagic from a Hard Drive that I bought on Black Friday 2006. Their records show that it is still in process, 3 months after I sent it in.
Circuit City can't be held responsible for the rebate...you said that you got your rebate from them. You have to contact I/OMagic, and work with them. If you kept coipies of receipts and UPC's, then they may allow you to re-submit it.
It is also a possibility that it got lost in the mail.
I wish you luck with getting your rebate.
