The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Eli Norton, CEO of Red Auto Protection, Inc, during an on-site inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward Red Auto Protection, Inc.

Red Auto Protection, Inc. is a company specializing in the sale of extended vehicle service contracts. Red sells the contracts to consumers as an agent. They sell these contracts for five different administrators, who are the companies who actually pay the claims. Policies are sold directly to consumers from two call centers or at dealerships as a point of sale.

Red Auto Protection acquires leads through a number of resources. They may be acquired through a dealership or service facilities, or by contacting potential customers from their call centers. “We try to make sure that every customer has an excellent experience… We do go the extra mile to try and take care of whatever issues or problems they may have,” states Eli Norton, a representative of Red Auto Protection. There are two ways the sales process gets started. The first is by selling directly to a customer. This is done by contacting the customer whose vehicle’s manufacturer’s warranty has expired or is about to expire. “We offer the customer the coverage that fits their needs by putting them into the best possible policy at the lowest possible cost,” states Mr. Norton. The second way is through dealerships. “Dealerships will sell our policies out of our digital underwriting system, right there in the shop, and the customer then can view the policy,” states Mr. Norton. Red handles all customer services issues for their dealership partners, and they strive to make sure their customers are provided with the best support possible.



RED AUTO PROTECTION CUSTOMER SUPPORT APPROACH

At times, customers are less than satisfied. “There’s rare instances where the customers are not satisfied with the products or services they receive. There are rare instances where a new sales representative might place a customer in a policy that they shouldn’t have, or they might have left out some things that weren’t covered,” states Mr. Norton. When those situations arise, the team at Red Auto Protection does everything they can to rectify it. Part of this focus on customer service involves all of their phone calls being recorded, so they can go back and pull a call recording and verify what happened. “I wouldn’t say [this complaint] is common. We try to make sure our complaints are very low. In the three years we have been in business, we have had only four complaints to the Better Business Bureau. All of them were responded,” states Mr. Norton. Some other complaints that sometimes arise are related to billing issues. In these instances, depending on the situation, a refund can be offered, or other solutions. Eli Norton, as CEO of Red Auto Protection, personally sees to it that all of her customers are taken care of, especially if they have a complaint.

After a complaint is resolved, a follow-up system is in place. “I will make sure the issue is taken care of and I will talk to the customer. Once the issue is resolved, I will follow up and say were you treated fairly, did you feel like this has been resolved to your satisfaction?” states Mr. Norton. Red Auto Protection feels they are taking every possible step to ensure their customers’ satisfaction. At this time, no new procedures or policies have been put in place to add to their customer service. “We have never had any complaints filed against us on a website that I am aware of, including Ripoff Report,” states Mr. Norton. “In the event a complaint were to arise, our standard practice would be that I would personally try to reach out to the customer and find out why they were frustrated enough to go online to post a complaint.”
