I recently purchased a Ford truck on December 27, 2012 from Red McCombs Ford located at 8333 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX  78230.  The vehicle is a Ford F-150 Super Crew, Blue Jeans in color.

I began having problems with my vehicle beginning April 2013; I had three issues with the truck:

  1. Noise When Shifting Gears – When I move the gear from park to drive, it makes a clicking sound.  I took the vehicle to the shop and they could not identify the problem.
  2. Air Condition Not Cooling and Making a Loud Noise – The air condition was not cooling enough, so I took the vehicle on April 29, 2013 to Red McCombs Ford and they made some repairs to the truck and thereafter the truck started making a noise from the front.  I took the vehicle back and they insisted that the air conditioner not cooling is normal.
  3. Panel Illuminates By Itself – The interior panel lights illuminate without reason, the Ford dealer could not decipher what is causing the problem.

On June 25, 2013, I dropped the vehicle off at Red McCombs to see if they could fix the problems, I advised the Service Technician that I was not going to take the vehicle in that condition.  Three days after on June 28, 2013, Red McCombs called me and said the truck was ready to be picked up.  When I arrived and started the engine, the first thing I heard was a loud noise apparently emitting from the Electric Fan; it was making a sound like an old compressor.  I spoke with the Service Manager Jesse Zuniga, and informed him I was not going to take the truck home until the problem is solved, the noise coming from the front was worse than when I dropped the vehicle at Red McCombs.  I also spoke with one of the Managers, his name was Mike, he sent me back to talk to Jesse Zuniga and thereafter I spoke with a Salesman, Danny Joseph, and we both agreed to return to the dealer the following day.

On June 29, 2013, I returned to the dealership and again spoke with Danny Joseph, he was busy with a customer, so I was referred to yet another Red McCombs employee, Jesse Sosa.  We told Mr. Sosa about the three issues and he went out to see the F-150, even he admitted something was amiss while shaking his head.  I left the vehicle at Red McCombs yet again and later spoke by phone with Danny Joseph, he assured me the truck was ready and I told him I will go by to pick it up again on July 8, 2013.  That day, I went to check the F-150 and nothing was done on the invoice, nothing was repaired, they merely changed the oil as a courtesy.  Mr. Joseph insisted we take the truck and to speak with a Manager, he informed me that I was compelled to take the vehicle as Red McCombs is not responsible if something should happen.  Out of frustration, I refused and even left the keys at the front desk and walked out of the dealership.

I felt humiliated and think it is outrageous how I purchased this vehicle with all kinds of warranties and yet Red McCombs was unable to do anything for me on a truck that had only 5,400 miles.  That afternoon, I decided to return to Red McCombs and cancel an insurance coverage that cost over $3,000 dollars.

While I was waiting, another Manager, Ray Zuniga, noticed how frustrated I was and offered to help and advised me I could do a trade-in.  I came the next day and was offered by Mr. Zuniga $24,000 for a vehicle I paid $39,000 for merely six months ago.  He tried to convince me to take this low-ball offer by claiming Mechanics from Ford will need to be called in, the process will take too much time, and the truck will only lose more in value.

Feeling more frustrated than ever, I balked at their offer of $15,000 less than my vehicle’s value merely five months ago and made the decision that since Ford refused to take responsibility to repair my vehicle, I would instead trade my truck at a local Chevrolet dealer.  I went to Vara Chevrolet, located at 8011 IH-35 South, San Antonio, TX  78224.  The vehicle was traded for only $25,000 and I originally paid $39,000, resulting in a loss of over $13,000 dollars.  I called the Ford Customer Relations Department and was given a case number, but have still received no response.  I am also going to attach all the invoices from attempts to repair the problems.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE LIARS!

DO NOT BELIVE A WORD THEY SAY, THEY DO NOT HONOR THEY WARRANTIES!
