Purchased a JVC Mini Dv Digital Camcorder from this company. I placed the order on Friday 5/26/2006 at 9:51 AM EST. An hour later I got a can email saying that they could not process my request because my Billing address is different that what is on file with my financial instituation. They listed three options for me to follow... believe it or not I did two out of the three. 1) I called my bank and made sure I was not going insane and double checked my address, all was good the address they have is the address that I live at and gave to RefurbDepot.com. 2) I completed and faxed to them a credit card autorization form. 3) After completeing the above to steps I called the company at their 800 to re-verify everything. I spoke to a very nice young lady she assured my everything was fine and that my camcorder would be shipped out that day.


About 5 minutes from hanging up the phone with her I got a call from RefurbDepot .... now I wish I could say that this young lady was a nice as the one I just spoke to but I felt like I was in a skit from "In Living Color" to the point where I am almost sure she cracked her gum in my ear !!! Anyway, after speaking with her for about 7 minutes , she said as long as we have the credit card authorzation for we will ship out the item. Well two hours go by I happen to be on my computer and low and behold I got an email from the company basically telling me that the camcorder will not be shipped out because my address is incorrect !!!!!


WHAT !!!!!!????????? So I try to call the company and much to my surprise they are closed. I wait all weekend and decide to just cancel the order. I mean My bank has the money in a hold account and RefurbDepot will not get the funds until they ship me out the Camcorder, right ???? Well Monday (which by the way is labor day) I get a call from RefurDepot.com a nice young man Sammy. Sammy apologizes for all the confusion and tells me my order will go out on Tuesday (Since that day was a holiday)... OK no problem, right ????

Wrong on all the above accounts, the money was released to them from my bank, as of 5 PM EST Tuesday May 30th the camcorder is still being processed and when I tried to call the company back at 3:30 PM EST to cancel the order .... They are closed.

Please if you see what seems to be a great deal from this on-line story do not do it , I have never experienced anything like this , they lie (and seem very sincere) and just tell you what you want to hear.... It really is a disgrace.

I ordered a averatec laptop. It took forever to arrive, but was missing the warranty papers for the warranty i bought at the same time. The company did mail out the papers right away. With this company it seems like they list a bunch of items, but don't seem to have them in stock for whatever reason. You will never know if the item you want is actually in stock, it is a gamble, but if it is in stock you probably will never have an issue with the company. This guy was strung along until they could actually get the product themselves.

This is a horrible customer relations practice, especially to bill you when they can't physically locate the product in inventory, refurb products and open box items can be bought from many sites at similiar prices. I'm not telling you to steer clear of refurbdepot.com, but just be aware that they may string out along for awhile and if you need something soon, there are other places to get the same product. There are other forums with tons of negative reviews on this company. I just want to make a point the I DID recieve the product i paid for, but can't personally recommend a purchase from this site.
