Consumer First ripoff Tampa Florida
Contacted by regular mail with credit card offer -- supposedly pre-approved for 5,000 dollars. I did not send any fee ($45.00) which was requested because I was suspect of a fraudulent scheme. I find this website on the internet and decided to complete this report. I hope I have been helpful to potential and past victims. Thank you. Alphonso Harrisburg, PennsylvaniaU.S.A.

I unfortunatelly have dealt with Consumer First. I cannot find any information on them and ofcourse I feel it is going to be next to impossible to get my money back, because I as well as many Americans am trying to fix my credit. I took the bait (boy do I feel stupid). I guess in part some of it is my fault for not doing any research first, but I was so excited about fixing my credit, and I thought this would an awesome opportunity but I let my emotions get in the way. It has only been one month since this happened, and I am trying to contact them and find out everything I can about them, but it's like there not there. I have called 411, looked on the internet, and even had a friend that was in the Tampa area for a couple of days try and find it, and he couldn't. Personally I don't think he could find a horse in a sheep herd but its not the point, the point is, I feel like I got screwed. I have so many questions for these people and they're nowhere to be found. Do NOT get a Consumer First Card Sander Boise, IdahoU.S.A.

A few days ago I received an acceptance certificate stating that I was approved for a $5,000 credit limit. I read over the letter and was curious why there wasn't an 800 number or any fine print on the back. I had my husband read the letter and he said that it had to be a scam because the letter stated that You may use your platinum card immediately upon receipt for all purchases FROM CREDIT PROVIDER. So I went to this site and found that it really was a scam. I hope those people burn!:( Eval Tucson, Arizona

Received a certifate in the mail from Consumer First. Their Card Processing Center was listed on the envelope as PO Box 15386, Tampa, Florida 33684-5386. They required a one time $45.00 membership and $49.00 for the card to be sent immediately, for a platinum card with O% APR 1st 12 months etc. The approval was signed by a Robert Stevens. Normally being, what I thought was a smart and careful consumer, I sent a $49.00 money order. Ran across this site and now I know I was scammed. Have received absolutely nothing. The only contact information was the return address on the envelope. Called information today (November 29th, 2002) and found that there is no Card Processing Center in Tampa, Florida listed. What really ticks me off, my mother worked for the Better Business Bureau and has many contacts with the Federal Trade Commission. I feel really stupid. I will be going after these people. Hope you can HELP me. Linda Washington, District of Columbia

On October 7 I send them a check for $45.00 to cover a yearly cost of a platinum Visa card. It thought it would help me with Christmas shopping. The credit limiet was $5,000.00. Late November I received a catalog and a phony card indicating I could only order from the catalog. Tried to enter online - no results. Tried to call - no results. Sure would like my money back since I'm a senior citizen on social security with limited income. Ann Shoshone, Idaho

i was sent a certificate in the mail about a month ago that stated that i was guaranteed a card with a limit of $5000 and 12 month no apr. i have yet not recieved my card and just started looking on-line for there buisiness when i found this site. i really want to do something about it but i don't know where to start maybe if someone could help me. this company is ripping people off left and right and i want justice. i can't see how anyone can stand for this. i am going to a lawyer on monday and going to try to file suit against them for fraud. it is possible to sue them into oblivion. everyone should try to do the same. i live in missouri and i doubt that someone from there company is gonna come all the way up here to court so that is automatic verdict in my favor. then we will see what happens. trevor carthage, Missouri

I, like others, recieved in the mail a $5,000.00 credit limit for a credit card. They charged 49.95 to process it. I recieved it today and it is only good for their catalog. What a rip off! They never specified this and led you to believe it was for all credit card purchases anywhere. I can't believe they can get away with this....This is Fraud. Debbie Scranton, Pennsylvania

I have recently sent money for a Platinum card and was trying to find a number to get a hold of them about why my card was taking so long to get to me and there was nothing. SO I got on the internet and found a site that told me about how they ripoff people with no credit, and this is my first time ever applying for a card. Well comes to find out that they have a history of ripping people off, I want my money back. Erin Osseo, MichiganU.S.A.

I recieved an approved certificate also. This is the 2nd one I have recieved. I was leary the last time I recieved one because there is no phone number and no info on the back about the card. Most companies also have an e-mail or web address. Also the fact that they are willing to give $5,000 credit to someone without any credit check or application. They didn't even ask for your social security number which is a must for credit cards. Anyway I looked them up and this is what I found. Allot of riped of people. I think they should be stopped. I too was a reciepant of the approved credit platinum card with a $5,000.00 limit. I too am attempting to rebuild my credit and it is Christmas time. I wanted to have a new credit card with a limit that was reasonable and its processing time quickly so I could rent a car upon my visit to my son (whom I have not seen or spent a holiday with for over 3 years) in Tampa Florida. I also reconized that there was no way of contacting this corporation, there was not a visa or master card choice and I wanted to know more about this so called package, interest rates after the first year etc. When I logged onto the computer the only site that surfaced upon my initial search was this one. I read the contents of it and several of the letters here on this site and was very blessed that I was suspicious. I almost sent them a check. I thank God for this site and its content for I would have been one of the victims. I may not be able to visit my son, but that is a small price compared to getting caught up in a scam such as this.
