Wachovia Bank beware opening accounts with wachovia if you don't want a credit card St Albemarle North Carolina
When opening a checking account with wachovia, I was pleased with everything when all was said and done. No big deal right? Boy was I wrong. About 2 weeks later I recieved a letter from Wachovia. Inside was a credit card from Wachovia and the letter thanked me for applying for it. Interestingly enough I NEVER applied for any credit card. I immediately called the 800 number on the back of the card and spoke with a customer service rep from MBNA (supposedly a partner of wachovia) and the rep told me they recieved my information electronically from a wachovia branch 2 weeks prior. The only thing I could link it to was when I opened my checking account. I immediately closed the credit card account and went to the wachovia branch the following day. When I entered the branch I asked to speak with the person with whom I opened my account with. I explained the situation and the response I received was, This is a great credit card. You must have great credit. I don't see the problem. The problem was you violated my rights and applied for a credit card for me without my consent. According to her the computer automatically does it sometimes and it is in Wachovia's terms and conditions. I searched and searched for this clause and found nothing. I was unaware that you no longer need an application nor a signature anymore to apply for credit cards for people. Now I must deal with a closed account on my credit report. If I wanted a credit card from Wachovia, I would have applied for one!!! All I wanted was a checking account. K philadelphia, PennsylvaniaU.S.A.

WACHOVIA BANK , COLUMBIA, SC WATCH YOUR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS WITH WACHOVIA COLUMBIA RIPOFF South Carolina
Pleasefor all those having business accounts please be careful with wachovia. They have funny charges and fees. We had a returned check from one of our customers and the customer had 14 days to pay the returned check amount and the fee. But Wachovia decides to freeze our 4 accounts that we have with them cause of this one check that messed up one account. We could not transfer funds to cover that account online only throught the bank and with cash only. We could use the funds we already have in the other account to purchase inventory or use our check cards. They are very inconsiderable. Even though only one account had a problem which was not our fault we have to suffer with no accounts till we pay them which will be after 2 weeks when the customer pays us . I still have my other business account with Bank of america. Had no problems at all! George COLUMBIA, South CarolinaU.S.A.

Wachovia Bank Wachovia charges 3465.35% intrest. Government rushes to award them multi 100 billion dollar bailout? Lehigh Acres Florida
Copy of letter sent to Florida Attorney General please keep on file. I believe it is my duty to inform you of what appears to be an unfair (legal or not) banking charge by Wachovia bank account # xxxxxxxxxxxxx I was charged $140 for a shortfall of $4.04. this appears to be 3465.35% interest or fee or whatever it may be called. My question is: 1) Is 3465.35% an acceptable amount for anyone to charge for anything, anywhere? Please answer yes or no as I am testing equal protection under the law. My intent is to open the door for myself and others to be afforded the same opportunities presently allowed to Wachovia by state law without fear of government intervention. I am posting this letter on a public forum on the Internet and will post your response if any on that forum. Joseph Corbett lehigh Acres, FloridaU.S.A.

First Union National Bank / Wachovia Corporation Mistreated and ripped off: The business that doesnt give a d**n National
My husband, who has worked all of his life, recently became disabled. We have had a difficult road, and he fights daily to recover from a devastating illness. Of course, we suffered financially when this happened, and it became difficult to pay our bills. We had two outstanding loans with First Union National Bank/Wachovia: One was a personal loan, and one is a second mortgage. We fell behind on the first loan, and although they did not hold title on our car, through there clout they were able to get the state of Florida to just Put them on as the new title holder Then they repossessed the car. Of course, they sold the car: But said we owed them more money, including attorneys fees. We had begun filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, when much to our surprise, FU/Wachovia reached into our Social Security Benefit account, without benefit of a court ordered judgment and stole $1595.00 (SSD Benefits are protected, and are supposed to be assessed only by the IRS/Federal Government in order to collect a debt) Their reasoning for reaching into an account supposedly protected from general indebtedness? It was because, as they say, their cashier processed the deposit incorrectly, did not process it as checks, but processed it as 'cash,' so that means it is not protected We are still jumping through hoops to get this money back: which we desperately need to pay our mortgage so that we do not lose our house. This Albatross Corporation thinks they are above every law in this country, and guess what, they get away with it: They also have no respect for decent moral law, as their fellow man is a slave to exploit, procured for use by their precious Money Master. I know this, because I have many other unbelievable dealings with this mammoth den of materialism; and will post more later. First Union/Wachovia would lie, steal, cheat, and sell their collective mothers if it made them one dime: They are users and abusers of people. It will be the sight of their own evil reflection which will bring an end to their corporate reign: Savor the thought! Carrick Jacksonville, FloridaU.S.A.

Wachovia Bank Wachovia experiences massive safety deposit box theft in Bethesda MD
I need some help responding to what may be the biggest bank theft in US history. In March 2007, Wachovia drilled my safety deposit box located in its branch on 7901 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD. The loss was incredible. Worse, about 100 other customers suffered the same fate. The total loss? My ball park estimate: About $50,000,000 (million) stolen. This loss would be about 10 X the size of the previous largest theft in US history. But even if I am wrong by a factor of 10, it would still be the largest theft in US history. Why did Wachovia drill my box? Was my rent unpaid? No. What Wachovia said was they did not know who owned the box(!) Apparently they knew when they billed me for the rent but forgot sometime after that. Interestingly, when Wachovia inventoried the contents, my name was on the inventory X 4. Presumably, they forgot who rented the box after they wrote that information down X 4. When I came to the bank to sign the log, I discovered that Wachovia had no record of that box or my card in their sign in log. They tried to convince me that I was confused and must have that box at another branch. Then I discovered that my card in the required sign in file mysteriously disappeared, and I am guessing that the same thing probably happened to 100 other customers. After a lengthy search, Wachovia discovered that my box had been drilled, inventoried, the contents dumped into clear plastic bags and piled into a corner of the basement along with what had been contained in 100 other bank boxes. How do I know that a theft had occurred? What Wachovia put on their inventory did not correspond with what was in the plastic bags on which the inventory was stapled. The contents evaporated after the inventory! Put in simple English, I would surmise that all the 100 boxes, more or less, were drilled and looted. Except for some papers and low value whatnot that the thieves did not want. Despite my name being prominently written by Wachovia on two plastic bags that held the last vestiges of my possessions, and despite the fact that my name was also written prominently on 4 pages of inventory done by Wachovia, the bank claimed they had no idea who had rented the box and therefore could not contact me despite their best efforts. But they declined to elaborate on what they did. Nor, by the way, did they contact me after the unannounced and unauthorized drill when they clearly knew my name. I discovered the theft approximately 11 months after my box was drilled. Just by coincidence, the other 100 box drill victims had not come in to check their boxes during the intervening 11 months. I happened to be the first. And so I need your help. Do you know anyone who has a safety deposit box at 7901 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD? Would you contact them and urge them to check their box? Do YOU have a safety deposit box with Wachovia? When is the last time you checked your box? This may be part of a more general trend with Wachovialoss of records and unauthorized drilling. Do any of you have contacts in the FBI or the Comptroller of the Currency or the Wall Street Journal who might be interested in this case? My inference at this point is that there was an inside bank robbery at Wachovia which they appear to be covering up. But perhaps there is something even more sinister. In the interim, I would humbly suggest that you check your safety deposit box...if you still have one...and anything left in it. A R xxxxx Chevy Chase, MarylandU.S.A. Wachovia Bank N.A. Wells Cargo Bank Bank Fraud in NSF Fees and Online Checking Accounts- Venice, Florida
Class Action Attorneys Please Call!!!  This is the third time Wachovia Bank has stolen money from our personal checking account by using timed withdrawals and incorrect data shown on our online checking account. The first time this happened we complained and the fees were removed. The second time it happened, it took a call to the bank manager to get the fees removed. She enlightended us by telling us that this was happening to other customers and it must be a glitch in the system. This is now the third time this odd event has occured and we are furious as to how the OCC and all the hardworking account holders would allow this to continue rampadly. Here is the short story- we have three checking accounts with Wachovia (business and personal) when our personal gets a low balance we transfer money from one account to the next. What is taking place is that they bank is holding the transfer, even though it is showing it has been debited from the other account and is posted to the low balance account, just long enough for a few small charges to go through to allow them to create a insuffiecient fund fee. This time it was $175.00 Our check book was balanced, our online account was showing realtime what was available, we made the transfer of funds, it showed it was in the other account- THEN BOOM, insufficent funds. We have an oline print out showing the balance of over $350 when the so called account was insufficent. IT IS ILLEGAL..I KNOW IT. IF there are any good, hungry attorneys out there, please put my name on a class action lawsuit. I have the documents to prove thier misshandling of our funds in a way to create proifts. Shame on the greedy who pray on hardworking, honest families. And don't give me a rebutal of oh you should have more money in your account , we just ran over $150,000 through Wachovia business accounts in the last 6 months. We are filing a formal complaint with the Comptroller of Currency today and will put this matter on record. Please do the same so the case can build.               Office of the Comptroller of the Currency Customer Assistance Group 1301 McKinney Street, Suite 3450 Houston, TX 77010-9050 1-713-336-4301 (Fax)

Wachovia Securities Aka Wachovia Bank Incompetent/non-existent advice on NYSE trading restrictions; false statements of broker and manager; unilateral busting of trades without explanation Indian Wells California
I was recently declared to be a patterned day trader per NYSE trading rules. This is not my problem. I trade almost entirely on-line through Wachovia's 'service'. Although I trade every day, generated sometimes more than a dozen trades, I imagine my broker received very little of it and was ultimately not interested in my account or too distracted by the market's recent gyrations in light of the extremely shallow investment advice it provides the elderly (i.e., the meltdown of the financials), and so when he informed me that trading restrictions had been imposed on my brokerage account, he could tell me how to apply them or even what they were. All he could say is in 20 years I've never seen someone trade as actively as you. These rules are very complicated. After several weeks and numerous requests for some guidelines, I received no specific information. Consequently, I placed a short trade about 10 days ago that netted me an $18,000 profit. Two days later I was informed the trade violated the rules which no one could, or had bothered to try to, explain to me. Wachovia unilaterally swept the money out of my account. They refuse to tell me how much they took. I have asked where I can find the amounts of brokerage commissions they have charged over the past year on my on-line account, but that request has been utterly ignored. To add insult to injury, after I fired off a couple of snippy pissed off emails, the broker responded by claiming he had told me what the rules were over a dozen times. This is an outright lie; he never told me once, nor could he. Then, following a vanilla call about 2 weeks ago from the branch manager asking me if there was anything he could do for me, and my responding that I was unhappy with the broker, and that no one seemed able to interpret the NYSE rules for me, and during which I advised I was moving over to Fidelity, the branch manager wrote me a letter I received Friday stating that he had gone over these restrictions with me, with is an ABSOLUTE LIE. The letter made it very plain that Wachovia would like me to take my accounts elsewhere. Interestingly, I spoke to this same manager last Friday before I returned to my office and found his (undated) 'confirmation' [fabrication] letter, when he asked not to contact the NASD until 'up north' responded to my complaints. Since I am a day trader, and evidently therefor a scoundrel of some unknown sort, I don't take losses hard but instead move on the next trade. For me, this is not about the $18,000 busted trade, but about Wachovia's utter dishonesty. I have sent them elderly clients and friends in the past, and now recognize what a disservice I might have done. Twarnold palm Springs, CaliforniaU.S.A.

WACHOVIA BANK BANK CHARGES OVERDRAFT FEES WITH EXISTING FUNDS AND I AM WORKING ON A CLASS SUIT AGAINST THEM READ AND CONTACT ME CHARLOTTE North Carolina
On January 19 2008 the bank charged my account $490.00 in overdraft fees but I had more than enough funds to cover the transactions. As I found out what had happened I contacted the bank several times by phone and in person at a couple of local branches. Every person I spoke to said the same thing: the best we can do is give youa a courtesy refund of $150.00. Which I did not accept as I dont need their courtesy. They have to accept their wrong doing, offer their appology and give me back my money in full. It gets even better. At one of the branches I visited, particularly the one located at the corner of Airport Pulling Road and Radio Rd in Naples Florida, I was talking to the branch manager about the problem when suddenly she rudely ordered me to leave the branch and threatened me in calling the police. Unbeleivable!!! I bank with Wachovia since late 2004 but had my account innactive the past year and a half or so and had forgotten the reason that made me do so. In a letter I received last December the bank gave me until February 2008 to start using my account or otherwise close it. So I started using my account as of January 2008. Thinking about what has happened I remebered that what motivated my innactivity with the bank was that I had been hit by these charges many other times and was so upset about it I decided not use my account and close it. As it happens, time went by and I did not do so. If I go back to my statements I am positive will find over $500.00 more in these absurd charges; which means I will be close to $1,000.00 altogether. Now that I see how many people are in the same situation I can imagine how much money the bank is making this way. Not a good clean way to make money in my humble opinion. Now, imagine one million people been charged $1,000.00 each year. Wow!!!. This has to stop right now!!!!! I have spoken with an attorney about it and have been told that if I can find other people with the same problem and willing to be part of a class law suit against the bank, we will have a good solid case. So to all current and previous bank customers who feel they have been wrongfully charged overdraft fees and have real proof of it, please contact me as soon as possible we might be able to not only get our money back, but to have the bank fined as well. Most importantly we will stop this abuse. Rick from naples, florida Naples, FloridaU.S.A.

Wachovia Bank speculative fees Sarasota Florida *EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back into your bank account!
First off, I do agree in principle with the know your balance advocates. That said, any intelligent observer can see the hammerlock the big institutions have on rule writing through the legislatures and comptroller of the currency. It's a water-tight, my-way-or-the-highway scenario. My grievance has to do with the extortionate theft of $490 from my checking account. I did know my balance. It was enough to pay all of the outstanding items I had authorized, as they were presented for payment in the daily clearing process. This included a phantom item for an annual subscription which I had stupidly paid a year ago with the Visa check card, not noting the fine print for an automatic renewal this year. This brings up a point which I have not seen discussed in the hundreds of related posts in this and other complaint forums. I apologize for being long-winded, but, the self-serving bank settlement manipulation goes even deeper than most people realize. In the old days, when a paper check was issued, that item made it's way back to the payer's bank through a constantly evolving system of physical transport of that paper from hand to hand. Banks and the federal reserve operate a network of clearing facilities which add and subtract deposits and checks each night. This physical handling and cross-country transport added cost to the banks' account, in the sense that they could not invest this float for their own benefit. The issued but not yet settled items represented potential earning power for the customer's account, not for the banks. When the check arrived at the issuing bank's home clearinghouse, the order of settlement would be: balance, plus deposits, minus checks, minus fees equals new balance. Long story short, with the advent of massive computing power, new electronically logged transactions and a subservient rule making apparatus, the banks have managed to turn the clearing process on it's head, to their sole advantage. The new clearing sequence is now: balance, minus fees, minus checks and electronic items, plus deposits equals new balance. Be aware: when you authorize a purchase with your Visa checkcard, that amount becomes encumbered/sequestered/appropriated. You no longer have the benefit of use of that amount in your account. It may still show in the balance, but the extortionists have declared that amount to be available in the bank's investable funds. The ownership of the float now goes to the bank. The exquisite irony of this change rests in the fact that many of these electronic items still are not immediately presented for payment in the clearing process. You may buy something from a vendor on the 1st of the month. The item may not be presented for payment until a few days later. Even though your balance may be sufficient to cover the item when it is presented for payment, if it wasn't covered when the charge was authorized, an overdraft fee is charged to your account. Be aware: Again, the overdraft fees are applied first in the clearing sequence. Even if you made a deposit that day, and the deposit would have been sufficient to cover the paid items and fee, the fee takes precedence and causes the overdraft. Net effect, banks are allowed, by law, to prospectively and speculatively apply fees to your account. The fact that fees are applied when the phantom charge appears, not when the actual item is presented for payment, represents a massive shift of advantage to the banks. This is the gist of my specific complaint. My account was charged $245 on two successive days even though the balance was enough to pay all the items presented for payment, ON THE DAY THEY WERE PRESENTED. The overdraft fees caused the carnage by sucking out all of the available funds before paying the items and before applying deposits. The branch manager told me she could not do anything about this as their authority to refund fees was curtailed. Why? Because they had been refunding too much! I asked her to please request to a higher authority on my behalf. No response was forthcoming. A note to their Overdraft Resolution Team did not elicit a response. A second, delivery confirmed note to the ORT and branch manager went unanswered. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. No reponse yet. The whole thing galls me. Caveat Emptor. Ralph Sarasota, FloridaU.S.A. Click here to read other Rip Off Reports on Wachovia Bank EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back! HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO: Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E. According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days. If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges. Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent! DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get. And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state. Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth. If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form. CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here. All The Big Banks: Bank Of America, Citibank, JPMorgan, Wachovia Bank of America Scammed me! Internet
I had sufficient funds to pay my bills, and Bank of America charged me 4 times for over draft. Stating I had a negative balance. I went spoke with them about it and they told me that it was not the Bank's error and they will not refund me for the charges. They directed me to call they 1-800 number and speak with a supervisor. Conveniently, None were available. I get a strong feeling that they will continue to tell me that it was not their problem and never refund me. So beware of Bank of America's over drafting scam.

Homeq - Wachovia Bank - First Union ripoff Loosing my home due to poor loan servicing North Highlands California
Homeq erroneously foreclosed on my property in 2001-13 months later sale was void. However, late charges, attorney fees, administrative costs and miscellaneous unexplained charges have been accuring on my account ever since. now they have foreclosed again, and the demand amount for right to cure default that they even used to foreclose is ludicris. I have all of my reciepts for payment/cancelled checks, etc for over the last 4 years. Due to the circumstances of the foreclosure (fraudulent loan servicing)we have found a compationate lender that is willing to try to provide funding if Homeq will cooperate and allow us time to complete the paper work. My attorney called thier attorney and the basically refused to negotiate any kind of terms and as much as said they would even let us buy the house back anyway. Well it isnt over yet-I have lots of options, and intend to research everyone of them. They have to be stopped. Cheryl Pacific, MissouriU.S.A.

WACHOVIA BANK Finally FEED ME TO DEATH! Bogus fees this generates, it boggles the mind! Charlotte North Carolina
Well, they finally did it to me. I am usually VERY careful and don't bounce checks, in fact, I haven't bounced a check in almost 25 years. So, the other day my wife makes some small purchases. We had checked the AVAILABLE BALANCE, not the posted balance, looked for any check card holds, everything is fine. The next day I check my balance and I am -250.00, included is a $120.00 Unavailable Funds Fee. Now, according to my online bank statement, I was perfectly fine until that 120.00 posted. But what I didn't see was an electronic check come in, which according to the bank, came in the previous day and overdrew the account, even though the AVAILABLE BALANCE showed positive. The check in question was supposed to be deposited on May 16, not May 11, (which isn't the bank's fault). What I am pissed about is that there were 4 DEBIT transactions that day. The monies were deducted immediately. Now the bank is saying that the money for DEBIT transactions do not come out right away, they are pending until midnight, then everything is proccessed. So, the aforementioned check is pending as well, sitting in limbo, waiting for the debit transactions to come in. Then, of course, the CHECK IS PROCCESSED first, not leaving enough for the 4 DEBITS that have ALREADY BEEN DEDUCTED from my account. $120.00 Fee BOOM! Those bastards do this to everyone, and if you think of the fees this generates, it boggles the mind. Bob Jacksonville, FloridaU.S.A.

Wachovia Bank, VISABUXX, in Breach of Own Contract, Subject to NYS General Business Law 349 ripoff Highlands Ranch Colorado
Please duly note Wachovia VisaBuxx Organization's willful breach of contract in regard to Section III.C by steadfastly refusing to issue the required PIN number for the Wachovia VisaBuxx card they issued my daughter Holly Dykstra. Furthermore, by issuing VisaBuxx cards in New York State, Wachovia VisaBuxx is subject to New York State General Business Law 349 which provides a private right to sue and provides for triple damages, minimum statutory damages as well as reasonable Attorney fees for those engaged in fraudulent and/or deceptive practices. Case in point: Weeks after acquiring Wachovia's VisaBuxx card for the express purpose of enabling my 15 year-old to travel through Germany for over half a month with her High School German Club - with their express written agreement and multiple verbal reassurances from various Wachovia VisaBuxx representatives that my daughter would have full access to all European ATMs as needed - suffice it to say that my daughter and I have NOT yet received the much requested and desperately needed PIN number to even test the viability of Wachovia's ATM claims! Consequently, my underage daughter is currently stuck in Europe with an entirely useless piece of Wachovia-stamped plastic and surviving on her own wits. Naturally, I have continued to phone and email the Wachovia VisaBuxx organization multiple times on a daily basis - an exercise in futility if ever there was one. They have consistently maintained the PIN is in the mail and have steadfastly refused to give my near-starving daughter the PIN number required to use her Wachovia VisaBuxx card. In fact, the last Wachovia VisaBuxx representative I spoke with (named Doug at 1-888-738-1697) had the unmitigated gall to blame Wachovia's inability to provide the necessary PIN number over the phone - or by email - or by any overnight service and/or even U.S.P.S. express mail (which I offered to pay any price for) - DUE TO THE PATRIOT ACT! This makes one wonder how the other (non-Wachovia) VisaBuxx cardholders traveling with my daughter managed to obtain their respective PIN numbers over the phone by other (non-Wachovia) banks just a few days prior to leaving. Does this mean that Homeland Security should be notified because such great, good, common-sense, service-oriented banking is in direct violation of THE PATRIOT ACT?! Better yet, why is Wachovia making the same exact (albeit entirely fraudulent claim) in Section III.C. on my agreement with them: obtain a PIN by calling us at 888-738-1697 and, by doing so, entering into an obviously fraudulent agreement? More importantly, why is Wachovia being allowed to perpetuate this extremely public deception in the State of New York?! Parents, you would all be much better off giving your children hens' teeth to barter with whenever they travel as opposed to a Wachovia VisaBuxx card! Wachovia definitely gets an A+ for creative lying and passing the buck (to themselves) - and a big fat F- in regard to effort and virtually everything else. If Caveat Emptor Awards were given to the most heinous organizations on an annual basis - Wachovia would be able to boast the longest winning streak in the history of banking. In other words, if you've literally got money to burn - give it to Wachovia - who'll rid you of it quicker than you can flick a Bic lighter. Otherwise, avoid Wachovia like the plague to banking and human decency that they have proved themselves to be! Cheryl Niskayuna, New YorkU.S.A.

Wachovia Bank South Carolina Cashed a check on my account that even had another business name and used my routing and account number Ripoff Anderson South Carolina
A check was cashed at a Wachovia branch on my business account on Oct 13, 2005. It was for 357.95. The check was made on a home computer and did not even have our company name or a name even close to it. The signature was not of anyone on the signature card nor did it resemble any signatures. They cashed it and debited my account. On November 7, 2005 I received my statement from them. On November 22,2005 I stared reconciling my previous months bank statement. I discovered the fraudulent check and notified then that day. Wachovia's reply was that since it was over 30 days old they will not refund it under any circumstance. I said what if it was $10,000? They said it does not matter, items over 30 days are not disputable .If a check was cashed on October 1st and I did not get my statement until November 1st the 30 days would be up before I could notify them!! Right? If any attorneys would like to pursue this case please reply to this complaint. We are a fairly large corporation and are currently closing all Wachovia accounts. Wachovia Bank, Dealer Financial Services ripoff - NO MATTER WHEN AND HOW MUCH WE PAY, WE ARE STILL LATE Winterville North Carolina
A '98 GMC Jimmy was purchased in February 2003, financed through Wachovia. The payment for the Jimmyis $312. The first payment was due in March and my fiance paid $326.00. Wachovia did not credit the account until mid April. Another payment was made at the branch. The teller lost one of the money orders. Wachovia called my fiancee. She took the receipt to Wachovia to get the lost money order researched. Needless to say, Wachovia put the $150 in a miscellaneous account, after claiming they knew nothing of the lost money order at the branch. I sent in a payment of $150 to cover the money order. Then two payments were made in May and June 2003, then a payment and a half was made in July 2003. As always, Wachovia would call saying they need this much money and i would send it via my bank electroically just to keep them quiet. Any time a payment was made, my fiancee or i would call and verify the receipt of the payment. We would be told we are caught up and everything is ok, only to be harassed by Wachovia via phone or a letter a few days later. On several ocassions, the Wachovia person..( customer service rep does not fit) she even bad-mouthed my fiancee. Then in August 2003, September 2003, and Ocotber 2003, payments in the amount of $462.00 were made electronically from my bank to Wachovia. They still did not credit the account in a timely manner. Wachovia would wait a week before taking the money out. Therefore, making the payments seem like they were late. In October 2003, my fiancee and i decided to buy a house. Wachovia told the bank handling the house loan that payments have NOT been made. I had to send them a copy of the payment schedule that Wachovia finally sent to me after months of asking for it. I had to explain the situation to the bank. I even sent the bank handling the house loan , a copy of the payment record. I even made a payment to Wachovia last week. Then i found out today, from the bank handling the house, that Wachovia reported that we owe them $460.00. A payment was made last week to Wachovia. According to the payment book, a payment is not due until November 8th, 2003. So i am really upset that they put a blemish on my A1 credit report. And the fact that they flat out lied about being paid when i have receipts showing payments. It bothers me that Wachovia would just lie. The customer service people are rude. They lie as well. They will not admit to being in the wrong. My fiancee and i are trying to seek help legally in dealing with Wachovia. We are to the point of wanting to rid ourselves of the Jimmy at the beginning of the year just so we will not have to deal wtih Wachovia. It is a shame that other businesses will believe Wachovia even with my proof of payments and my credit history. This bank have got to be stopped. It is doing not only us but others wrong. We refuse to let Wachovia win. Harry Wildomar, CaliforniaU.S.A.
