Protect Your Home ADT, Defender Security Horrible Service, Major Rip-Off - Indianapolis, Indiana
SHORT STORY:  Bad equipment/terrible service - After cancelling my contract  within the 3-day period it has been almost a month and I have not received my money back or had the equipment removed from my home.  Cancellation contract states any payments will be refunded within 10 business days and any goods (equipment) must be made available to remove from residence.  If goods are made available to seller and seller does not pick them up within 20 days of the date of notice of cancellation, you may retain or dispose of goods without further obligation. FULL STORY:  I was contacted by ADT/Protect Your Home after having DISH Satellite installed (when asked about home security, I told DISH I might be interested).  I scheduled an appointment for the evening of May 1st   I proceeded with installation and at the strong suggestion of the installer/sales person added additional equipment.  Total investment of $403.75 (installation, 2 months upfront monitoring charge, & equipment). On the morning of May 3rd (approximately 36 hours after installation), I received a call from ADT stating there was a problem with my system.  They walked me through checking equipment and concluded it was a module issue and a technician would need to repair it. I called the technician (Bryan) who had installed the system (he had said to call him if there were any problems or questions).  He said he couldn't do anything without a job number.  So I called ADT and received a job number.  I called and left a voicemail on the Bryan's phone, telling him I had a job number and would he please call me back.  He never returned my call. Within the next hour my husband received a call on his cell phone from ADT saying we had a fire alarm.  He told them he was not home and had they tried contacting our home through the 2-way monitor since I was at home.  He was told we did not have 2-way (which we did because Bryan had tested it during installation).  My husband then called me at home to ask if there was a fire alarm going off.  I told him no, but explained that ADT said there was a problem with the system. I then proceeded to call ADT to let them know our system was sending out false alarms (even though no alarm was sounding in the house), however,  I was interrupted by the fire department at my door.  After explaining to them it was a system error, I called ADT.  They recommended an ignore all alarms until my system was fixed, however, it would be 24-48 hours before a scheduler would call to set up a service call. On May 4th around noon I was called by the scheduler who told me it would be May 7th before a technician could fix the equipment.  I told him this was unacceptable and that if they could schedule an installer within 24 hours for new service, they should be able to get my service fixed within the same time period.  He told me he would put in a call to a couple of techs to see if he could get someone out sooner.  He called me back and told me he had left voicemails for two techs and would call me back when he heard back from them.  He never called back.  At approximately 5:00 pm on May 4th, I called ADT and told them I wanted to speak with a supervisor because I was ready to cancel my contract.  They transferred me to someone from Protect Your Home.  I explained to the woman that I wanted my service repaired no later than the next day and if I did not have an appointment scheduled by 7:30 pm, I would take my cancellation contract to the post office that evening.  She apologized for the service I was receiving and gave me her word that I would hear from someone within the next hour as they did not want a customer to cancel.  No one ever called back and my cancellation notice was postmarked that evening and sent certified mail. The cancellation notice was received by ADT on May 7th.  The same day I received a call from Jeff, a service tech, who said he was going to come out today to fix my equipment.  I told him instead of repairing it, he needed to remove it as I had cancelled my contract.  He said he would try to come by that evening, but if he couldn't make it he would call me in the morning and would come remove the equipment.  I never heard from him again. By May 15th I had still not heard from ADT or Protect Your Home, so I called them.  The rep confirmed the cancellation was noted in their system.  When I asked about my refund, she told me that it would be approx. mid June before I received my money back.  I explained to her the contract stated 10 working days from receipt of the cancellation, however, she insisted that it took 30 days for the cancellation to become effective and then it would be 10 working days after that. On May 31st I once again called ADT to inquire about getting my money back.  The customer service rep told me that the cancellation had just been noted in their system on May 25th.  I told her that it had been confirmed on May 15th the cancellation was in their system and that I wanted my money back.  She told me she would expedite my refund and asked me to hold.  When she came back on the phone she told me I would be refunded approximately $74 within 48 hours.  I told her the amount was $403.75.  She said I would need to contact the authorized dealer (Protect Your Home) to get the money back for installation & equipment.  I then told her we had paid $81.98 for the monthly service (2 months), not $74.  She again put me on hold and then came back and said the total amount would be refunded. I then called Protect Your Home to find out about getting my money back for the installation & equipment charge.  I was told they were not notified of my cancellation.  I explained to the customer service rep the cancellation notice was received by certified mail on May 7th.  In addition, I had told the rep I spoke to on May 4th I was going to cancel and had also told their service technician on May7th I had cancelled.  He then told me he saw in their system where the cancellation notice was received on May 7th.  I asked about getting my money back and was told I would need to speak with a Cancellation Manager.  I asked to be transferred and was then told by the rep the Cancellation Manager would not discuss the matter with me because only my husband's name was on the account.  I told him I had 3-way calling on my phone and could get my husband on the phone so would he please transfer me.  I was then told the Cancellation Manager was out of the office and would call us back within 24-48 hours. The Cancellation Manager called back this evening and left a message on our voice mail stating he was just notified of our cancellation and that we could call back on the main number and schedule an appointment to remove the equipment from our house.  No mention of our money being refunded. I would strongly urge anyone considering using ADT/Protect Your Home/Defender Security to stay away from this company or companies.  Their service is absolutely horrible!  Unfortunately, I anticipate the need for legal involvement in order to get my money back.

Defender Direct ADT Shady Company provided by ADT Indianapolis Indiana
This company is shady and so is ADT.  First, I answered an email about a 90 dollar installation if I installed an alarm from ADT. I spoke to a rep from ADT on the phone who told me a bunch of lies but never mentioned that I should prepare myself for an hours worth of extreamly high payment options or that I will never see the 99 dollar installation that was advertised. Instead he insisted that he send an ADT rep out to my home to install the alarm. Me, not knowing what to expect let the guy install the alarm and then afterwards he set down to give me the truth behind the screen.  He brings out all of these boxes of gadgits. I'm talking boxes upon boxes of stuff. He begins thowing out numbers like, this package is 700 a month for 3 months, this one is 500 for three months and so on. 500 for 3 months? I can't do that. And here comes the hard sell protect your family speech. After an hour of me saying no, no, no, no, no. I want the 99 dollar installation that doesn't exist, we finally settled on a package very very much higher than 99 dollars but at least it was one payment. So between Defender and ADT, I got the monthly payment I had to pay + the first month that ADT takes up front + and additional installation cost when I thought is was 99 dollars + I just got another bill in the mail for 78.00 from Defender for a permit fee that wasn't explained to me.  I would caution people, if you are going to ADT because you think you're gonna get an alarm for 99.00 plus a 50 dollar monthly fee you may want to do some research because it's going to run you alot more than that.

ADT authorized dealer for defender direct ADTDefender DirectAuthorized Dealer Run! Scam! No one is on the same page!!!!! gilbert Arizona
ADT, or so I thought? I had ADT for nearly 20 years. When I moved, the tech on the phone said that there would be no charge for installation fees for new home....hmmmm, loooong story short. I'm in my new home, I call ADT to set up an appointment, tech came out and that was and is another story but one that would take pages to dictate to you. After having the equipment taken out of my home 3 days later, certified letters send to there company, faxes, emails, phones calls after phone calls, I just want to jump out the window! WATCH for AUTHORIZED DEALERS....It took me a while to learn all about that...the middle guy! The tech has docusign here. I stated for 20 years I have manually paid my bills and prefer it that way. He walked me through the docs, I signed and assumed I'd be paying old school method....hence, NOT! They say you get certain type of equipment on the phone, then they get here and they have no idea what your talking about. they then try and sell you cameras, lights, etc.....they then claim you get all this equipment for FREE. Let's think, is anything free in this world? If it sounds too good to be true, is it? Yes sir...we know the equipment isn't free and that your monthly costs pay slowly out for that stuff, right? Anyway I could bore you with a novel here, do your home work, ask yourself if your gone alot maybe I do need a service provider to let me know someone just broke in, right? Or I work at home and I'm home alot, do I need a service provider or can I just order the same type of equipment from costco, walmart, alibaba, or any wholesale company? Yes you can! Afterall, what we truly care about is someone breaking in while WE ARE there, our family is important, right? Our stuff is insured with our home owners policy or our renters policy. Oh and the discounts you receive for having a company monitor is no different then you having your equipment installed to monitor, and with todays technology, you can have a signal sent to your iphone that an intruder is in your home...you then call the police. Please don't call ADT or authorize dealers, especially ADT authorized defender direct dealer!

Protect Your Home, ADT, Defender Security Left Security System disconnected New Orleans Louisiana
Beware of ADT installers in South Louisiana who work with Defenders Security / Protect Your Home out of Indianapolis , they are dishonest and not trustworthy. Breon Route was the one who came for the first visit. She came to see if my current wiring (which worked fine) would work on their system. I told her that if she couldn't make it work i wanted her to plug the system back in the way it was, I was assured she would. Instead of taking a picture before unplugging my wires, she tried to make their system work. When it didn't work, she sent someone else to try. He couldn't get it to work. When I ask him to plug it back in, he couldn't because the prior tech (Breon Route ADT representative out of New Orleans) didn't take notes or pictures. They now have taken their equipment and now my system that was working before doesn't even have power going to my control panels. When I put the power on it isn't working because the second tech attempted to figure it out and apparently wasn't able to accomplish what Breon should have recorded in the first place. Once they figure they can't make any money off of you they don't care if they fix what they have taken apart they aren't trained to install other systems..... really, well maybe they should train the Installers to take a snapshot before they unplug a working system... a quick photo snap would have saved me and the second tech a lot of headache. All they had to do is plug the wires into the board just as they were before. Breon Route is someone who will tell you what you want to hear even if it isn't the truth, I learned that the hard way. I had to pay out of pocket to get someone to reconnect my wires in my security control panel.

Protect Your Home, ADT, Defender Security Deceptive sales/promotion practices Indianapolis, Indiana
Part of the promotion offered to me over the phone was a $100 visa gift card.  The agent did not explain to me that I would have to take the time and expense to get a $5 money order to receive this gift card - nor would I expect that since all other companies who offer such promotions do not require a shipping and handling fee.  The agents I spoke to said this was noted in my welcome letter, but as I explained to them multilpe times, I authorized my contract and paid my install fee over the phone after being offered this promotion, so by the time I was signed up and paid, I had not been told or sent this information.   Protect your home sent me to the company who processes the claims, as they claimed it was their fee.  This was a lie.  The company that processes their via gift cards informed it is indeed a fee that Protect Your Home has chosen to charge its customers in order to receive a visa gift card.  The processing company simply collects this money on behalf of Protect Your Home.  It doesn't matter if the fee is $5 or $50 - they left out financial information when I purchased a system, gave false information after the fact, & refused to do anything to rectify the situation.   Also , I was overcharged on my first bill b/c Protect Your Home's records showed I ordered a mobile uplink, which I did not have installed. They 1. told me it would take at least 30 days to get reimbursed and 2. could not even tell me what my bill should have been.

Protect Your Home, ADT, Defender Security Home Defenders DAMAGES TO MY HOME TAMPA, WESLEY CHAPEL Nationwide
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Stay as far away from this company as possible. I normally do not do this and I would love to spend my time doing something more productive than to write about how horrible this company is, but I will take the time and express what happened to me by DEFENDERS so that I may help someone in making a better decision and that is to avoid DEFENDERS. I’m in the military and I travel often so I wanted the peace of mind of knowing that my family will be protected in some way while I was gone. I scheduled to have someone come and install the ADT security system in my home which I never once would question the competence of the individual performing the install because I ‘assumed’ they would know how to do their job. Well, he didn’t. Prior to confirming proper signal this individual made a gaping hole in my wall to install the security panel. Unfortunately for him, he made the hole without testing for the signal in my brand new home. No big deal, just move the security panel where it would best have signal, except now I have a gaping hole in my wall. By the way, this installation took him and his partner over 8 hours to perform which they didn’t even finish, so they had to send someone else out at a later date. This next guy was smart enough to find the signal and eventually install the security panel. Great now my security system is installed except I still have the gaping hole, 5 x 6 inches in size just staring at me. The last individual who came and installed the security system gives a call back to me and says that he spoke to his manager and that he will call me directly about having a different company to fix the wall, and I said wonderful I will wait for such a call because he said it will only take about a week. That phone call never came and I waited an additional week giving them the benefit of the doubt, but still no phone call so I took it upon myself to call this individual who told me that someone would be calling me. I called, left voicemails, text messages and this guy I knew was purposely dodging my calls because he picked up and then hung up and when I tried calling again he sent me straight to voicemail. So as one would expect, I got upset and I let him know how I felt via text. I called the company for answers about damages done to my home. I took 4 days of continuous phone calls to finally reach this person that is supposed to help me. Emily ID# 15998, she tells me that I have to pay someone to come out and appraise the damages for my wall even though I did not cause the damages to my home it was my responsibility to initiate that process and that at a later date I would be refunded the money, do you know how inconvenient that is for someone, to have something done to them and they are expecting you to fix the issue on your own dime. I think it’s great they are willing to pay you for the damages on the back end but for you to front load that entire BS because of their mistake is unacceptable. Well, I explained to her that I’m not in the position to be paying for such services and asked her why should I pay for damages that were done to my property when it was one of her fellow incompetent employees that caused that damage to begin with. I was furious and not happy with the circumstances. Had I known it was going to be such terrible service from the start I would have simply found other means to protect my loved ones. So for those of you who are thinking about purchasing any services from this company, just for your information you are responsible for any initial damage done to your property if any is done. I would not have taken the time to write all this if it weren’t true. If possible I will include a picture to show the damages done.

ADT Defender Security Ran Credit when specifically told not to! Unknown Nationwide
Received a mail solicitation for a home alarm system. I already have one but was considering an upgrade. Specifically told a Supervisor and a salesperson (I have the names) not to run a credit report. I refused to give them my DOB or Social Security Number. I have credit monitoring. I received an alert. I discoved that Defender Security of Indianapolis ran my report as a result of my speaking with what I thought was ADT. Told me they would send someone out but needed a refundable $99. Used an American Express card. Said the only way I would be charged is if I purchased. I have the names and the flyer, date and time. Want to sue them.

Defender Direct ADT ripoff money they didn't earn Indianapolis Indiana
Defender direct poses as ADT when they installed my security system. They gave me a 36 month contract that I kept 48 months. I was told after I honored me 36 months that I would become month to month and could end my services when I wanted to. I decided not to keep the services because I fell on hard times when my job closed at Kraft foods. I thought everything was fine until I look at my credit report and found them on there. I called to find out what it was. When I finally talk with someone they told me I ole them for breaching a contract and I had to pay for equipment of ADT. I told them I completed my contract. I ask for a copy of the contract that they never sent me. I spoke with someone today August 11,2015. I explained I completed my contract. The man told me I was entered into an automatic lifetime contract. Who says that stupid statement. Who can enter you in lifetime contract without your permission. I told him I was going to get a lawyer needless to say he got upset. When I told him I have a family member that works for ADT and he wasn't being truthful he got furious and said he wasn't going to argue with me. I wasn't arguing I was stating a fact. Defender Direct Security Slow and stupid ADT reseller -- save yourself the trouble, just call ADT themselves Syracuse New York
As a happy ADT customer who moved recently, I called the nearest office (Syracuse NY) of ADT's authorized dealer Defender Direct (HQ @ Indianapolis IN) for a new system. Well, for 3 months it was like a Three Stooges film here -- trainees who pointed sensors at the ceiling, technicians sent to fix those sensors who left glue-strips on the walls, their supervisor who was texting his friends the whole time, etc etc. Finally I got ADT to take my account itself. Here's the best part: ***ADT made Defender sent me a refund -- then Defender called to threaten me with collections if I didn't return their money!*** Save yourself the agony of dealing with these twits, just call ADT directly. I found out that ADT generally has a local office, no matter how small your town, and you may have to hunt around to get their (unadvertised) number, but just skip the resellers / dealers and go straight to ADT. ADT Home Security ADT protect your home,ADT Mandy Direct,ADT Defender out of Texas. Fl.,In.,Wa. Sales rep lie, malfunction equipment no response, customer service bogus, been on hold now for over an hour 10 min. and still waiting Indianapolis In.,Tx.,Fl.,Wa
Purchaced ADT Home Security as sales rep. stated that if the phone line is cut or unpluged it will alert monitors and police will be called. LIE!  Then they offer for 600.00 dollars more to install cellular connection. After signing contract they got you. I then find out they are rated buy thier customers as very bad, wish I had know about ripoff report before. They show a good rating on line with home security systems as after thier subcontractors sucker you, the corporate office cuts ties with you if a problem arises and refers you to the lier contractor. Now ADT claims no responibility. You think you are dealing with one Co. and find out you are dealing with at least two. ADT rating looks very good on line but after they ditch you and blame it on thier subcontractor they are out of the picture.  Now they have no connection with the problem they caused. I have been on the phone over 2 hour 20 min. now with no responce. Still on hold listening to music!  So much for thier emerency services! Then ADT protect your home changes it name to defender as the complaints pile up.1600.00+ dollars plus another 600.00 for cell connect, for the same equipment thier compeditors claim they charge less than 400.00 for.  No response to equipment failure 1st time. 2nd time equipment failed police showed up when there was no alarm set off. They claimed the panic button was pushed but no way. 3rd equipment failure, alarm went off by itself and it is deafening. They said they could not shut it off. Now I have hearing damage with rinking in my ears and have to wear hearing aids. After I filled a report on line the alarm went off by itself.ADT has a perfect buisness model on scamming thier customers. They use the laws to protect themselfs and screw you for big bucks. And the Attorney Generals, Consumer Protection People, and BBB are guilty of not doing thier jobs. BBB rates A+ and shows 1 positive review, 1 neutral, and 99 negitive. How does that get an A+ ? ADT is the worse home security I know. For the longest peroid of time I was not able to arm the system but was still getting charged and told I was being monitored. Lie! Lie! Lie! Bait and switch, scam , lie, they and thier accomplists are one of the lowest forms of thiefery on the earth.

ADT Defender And Protect Your Home 9 hour install and the security system still does not work!!! Trying to cancel but im getting the run around. Aurora Colorado
I'd like to say ADT is the biggest rip off artist out there. We just bought our new house in Midland TX and wanted to install a security system to help on the insurance costs. We decided to go with ADT since the name is pretty well know. To bad we didn't do any real research into them. We called the 800 number for ADT told them what we wanted and they set up installer to come the next week since there are no local distributers here in Midland. No problem I said. The Instal Manager was suppossed to arrive between 5 and 6pm on a Thursday evening for a two hour install. He arrived shortly after 6pm and was here until 12:30am!!! When he left he told me he was not finished and asked if I could meet him Friday evening so he could finsh up. Friday came and went. No ADT guy. So we started making phone calls. Two weeks passed. During this time the alarm was going off at odd hours of the day and night for no reason. ADT never called about it because we were not even being monitored. Finally we got in touch with Defender and I told them I do not want this thing in my home anymore and to come get it. She told me that I would be charged 70% of a 3 year contract. Funny thing is, I never signed a contract or saw any paperwork what so ever. I explained the story to her and she informed me that the day we called ADT we entered a Verbal Contract and only had three days to get out of it. Well by this time two weeks had gone by so we had no choisce but to say come fix the thing and refund our first month. A week later the same guy came back to my home to fix the system. When he left he produced a contract from his back pocket for us to sign. Atached to this contract is a Notice of Cancellation that states in bold print, You may cancel this transaction, without penalty or obligation, within three business day from the date above. Our transaction date is 5/07/08. I just got off the phone with ADT and have been told We will work on it and call you back. Has anyone ever sued these guys? I urge everyone to stay away from ADT and spread the word to your friends and neighbors. Find someone local. Joe C. Midland, TexasU.S.A.

Protect Your Home, Defender Security, ADT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I am starting to think I have been scammed by a company who is supposed to protect my home!!!!! Nationwide
Up until last night 10/05/15 I have been setting my security system as if everything was fine since I was NOT contacted via telephone or USPS mail to tell me otherwise. Last night on 10/05/15 I received a collection agency letter to inform me that Protect My Home has referred my account to a collection agency to collect a debt. I was absolutely confused and utterly shocked by this and thought that the letter was a scam letter until I started investigating the situation. On 10/05/15 at 7:15 pm (same day/evening), upon receiving this letter from a collection agency of all things, I immediately called the collection agency and left a message to please have someone call me immediately and then I called Protect My Home in hopes that I could get some clarification to this matter after all, I NEVER received a letter, a phone call or anything to inform me of ANY billing issues up until this collection letter. I am still waiting for the collection agency to call me back... AFTER waiting on hold with Protect My Home for 30 mins, then being hung up on due to poor connection on their end, then me having to call back and wait another 30 minutes and jumping through several more hoops just to speak with someone who sort of knew what was going on, but spoke poor English. The lady I spoke to stated that my account was referred to collections for non-payment and they sent me 4 letters to my current address, which is a total lie because I NEVER received a letter from them, let alone a phone call. I asked the lady why a phone call was NOT made to me and she had NO answers to this, all she could say was they sent letters. - I never received one! Furthermore, she would note my account and a Billing Manager would contact me today 10/06/15 - no contact and I am not one to sit around and wait. I called and spoke to another lady today 10/06/15, this time she could not locate my account or look me up by my phone number. After jumping through more hoops, she was able to locate my account and she told me the same thing but added that there was NOTHING that they were willing to do and I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to and she said Yeah, the collection agency. I stated that I have plenty of money in my bank account to cover my monthly service, fulfill my contract and I was not sure why payment was not being taken out via EASY PAY. I also said that I did not understand why a phone call was not made to me before this escalated to this point and I WANT my service. I also asked her what do I need to do in order to get this straightened out and my service where it should have been and where I thought it was and she condescendingly said Ummm, pay your bill EVERY month. I told her I would have been all over this had I known or had they made me aware that there was a problem. Just like I am on the phone with her. She then said, Not our problem and to contact the collection agency. Unbeknownst to me, I am 4 months behind which is roughly over $200 and I asked if I could pay my account in full where I PAID my contract off to avoid any billing issues going forward and where my home and family could feel protected like we felt up until last night and all she could say is pay $1,238.79 to collection agency and then IF we decide to keep you as a customer, I would need to start all over again with forking out 3 years worth of payments with a 3 year contract and re-connection fees etc. - ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! The other ironic part about this, is I keep being told that it is out of their hands and to contact the collection agency, yet on the collection agency letter it clearly states Payments should be made to PROTECT YOUR HOME but wait, I thought it was totally out of their hands??? I am starting to think I have been scammed by a company who is supposed to protect my home!! I have my own company where we provide a service and I would NEVER treat my clients like this and if there are billing issues, I make phone calls!! Resolution wanted: I would like my account to be reinstated, my phone numbers to be updated once and for all and my account out of collections immediately. I am willing to pay the remaining balance of my contract in ADVANCE to avoid further billing issues but I am not willing to pay twice. Thank you, Diane 763-273-1080

Defender Direct Security ADT Bogus company, deceived, lied, said anything to get the contract signed! Indianapolis, Indiana
I had used ADT Security before and moved without a problem as they understood.   It cost $29.00 per month. I called ADT (thought it was ADT) for a new system.  Defender Direct showed up and pretended to be ADT!  I questioned the guy over and over.  He assured me it was really ADT.  The cost was $39.58 per month.  I could not believe the cost difference.  I signed a contract for 3 yrs. on 8/5/10.  He said if I moved, they would work it out.  Ironically, the real ADT called me a few months later to sell their service.  I found out that I did not have ADT service, and if I did, it would have been $29.00 a month! He said he could not change the service since contracts were involved.    I moved out of state and closed the account, paid to the date.  In March 2012 a collection agency/attorney called me.  He would not tell me anything except that he wanted  Defenders $658.00 and if I did not pay, he would send it to the credit bureau! He spoke in a deep voice and was menacing when he called!  He would not discuss anything except that I should pay up!  He knew my credit score was over 800! He threatened to ruin that and he did!  They sent the debt to Experian!  I thought the court ruled that one could not be charged for services of monitoring not received.  I must be wrong.  How can I resolve this without paying what I should not owe?

ADT Security System Unrelieble, Unresponsive and poor customer service St., Florida
On May 8th 2010 one ADT Sales representative stopped at our home to advertise ADT Security Systems. Under their high-pressure salespeople, I have signed a contract for three years thinking we will be protected and we will have peace of mind. Within the last couple of months we have had major issues with ADT system and have since turned it off: 08/15/2010 - the alarm went off. We were at church when ADT representative called us and left a message that they sent police at our address. We came home and we've found Police Notice of Alarm Violation. It was a false alarm and the technician pointed to a faulty sensor. We were not able to bypass the sensor using the panel and your representative was able to login remotely and do it. The technician that was dispatched replaced the sensor after checking for faulty wiring on 08/18/2010. A couple of days later we had the same problem monitor beeping continuous. This time however, the customer service technician told me that it is not possible to login remotely and I had to shut down the system completely. The dispatched technician found that the board itself was bad on 08/27/2010 and he had to order the part. He spent 3 hours trying to find out what is wrong. I took a day off from work knowing ADT technician will come and fix the issue. After a week, on Friday 09/03/2010, a technician came for the third time in a month to install the new board and after he left we had the same problem. The system is off since 09/03/2010 when it worked 2 hours on that day. This time my husband took a day off from work. For the last couple of weeks we have been trying, unsuccessfully, to cancel our contract per ADT customer satisfaction guarantee customer can break contract within the first 6 months of service if services rendered are not satisfactory. Whats worse is that ADT deplorable customer service representatives from the billing department that keep referring us to Alert Security Services of St. Augustine FL each time we try to call. Its important to point out that weve called that number - (904) 829 5359 - numerous times - left a voicemail, to no avail because no one returns our call. On the two occasions somebody answered, once the CSR assured us that the manager will call us next day first thing in the morning, and the other time that we got the Daytona office and were told to call back after lunch. Nobody called us back. We are completely dissatisfied with ADT service and we are cancelling it. Weve tried three times to fix the issue, we took two days off from work and nothing was resolved. I have written a letter to Mr. John Kock, ADT President and ADT Billing explaining all the facts and asking to cancel ADT service as of 09/03/2010. We have attached a copy of the Police report on 08/15/2010 and ADT Money-Back Service Guarantee certificate received where it states: Full Instalation & Monitor Refund - Refunds the installation and pays all monitoring fees if, after we have attempted to resolve your concerns, you are not satisfied within six months of installation. On 10/07/2010 we have received an ADT Invoice with charges for Technician two Trips fee of $53.50. This is outrageous due the fact that technician was not able to fix the issue 3 times and we took 2 days off from work. We want to cancel ADT service as 09/03/2010 without outrageous cancellation penalty of 75% of the remaining contract balance. Instead peace of mind and protect me and my family, after listening to that continuous beep for hours and no protection, it has been added a lot of stress and anguish to all our family. It has been peaceful since we have turned off ADT system on 09/03/2010. ADT do not care about customers. It's worthless. We do not want to become a victim of ADTs unfair monitoring contract. ADT has a Money back guarantee for six months. I have nothing but miss-service from ADT Security Service and want my account cancelled for misrepresentation of product and services.

Defender Security / ADT Lied, Hustled, Stole Money Indianapolis Indiana
Received an ADT Home Security mailer detailing free equipment. However, it will cost you $798 to install it. I had 3 days to cancel. I cancled the next day via faxed form provided in email downloads. Defender Security came out to remove the system. Asked me what can we do to make you happy with this service?  I replied cut the price in half.  The rep. (Monte) stated he got on the phone with the home office and was to reduce the cost by $370 for a total price of $428 roughly.  My account was debited $798. No clue who Monte spoke with but this company lied about intall costs, lied they would adjust the install cost and will not return calls.  Kathy George @ 317-715-3558 in accounting I am told by the 877-245-4981 escalations operator is/was supposed to respond.  I let them know I am contacting the Indianapolis Attorney General's office (317-232-6201) as well as Florida Attorney General's office.

St Louis Honda Beware: Honda Presale Body Damage Cover-up St Louis, Missouri
I purchased a car in late May. I paid fair market value for the car in which was claimed to be in excellent condition. The carfax was clean and no body damage was seen on the car at all. After one week, two very deep gouges running the length of the entire car on both sides began to show. I then realized Honda covered this with a very temporary fix to sell the car (crayon?). They were contacted and refused to make good. It cost me more than $1600.00 in losses.

Mr. Sandless in St. Louis Gross Misrepresentation St. Louis Missouri
In August of 2008, we interviewed Mr. Sandless (in St. Louis) representatives about their process and warranty. We asked numerous time if the floor would keep its shine over the warranty period. Every time, (including just yesterday after multiple complaints) they responded with the same line; If you use our cleaning product and follow the instructions, it will. We have done just that with their product we purchased and their cleaning instructions. After paying the technician, they handed us a relatively worthless warranty against peeling, cracking, chipping or yellowing. When I addressed the yellowing, I was simply told, Well our product does not yellow. There was nothing about keeping its finish on the Warranty. However, on the website they clearly state that their product performs as well as urethene. We had urethene for 5 years with no problems whatsoever and in year 6 thought we would try Mr. Sanldess. Unfortunately we fell victim to their misrepresentation and false advertising. In December we complained that the floor had dulled dramatically in the traffic areas. Under the table and furniture was still very shiny and glossy. We had requested our money back. They came out and agreed with us that it was not right and offered to put a new industrial product on the floor. It is now February and we filed another complaint. Again, they sent a technician out who agreed with us that the dulling was just not right but now said they could come out and put a sealer on it. We told him no. The manager of the business, Rachel had told us back in December that they would try the new product in lieu of returning our money and if that did not work she would go to the owner with our refund request. We simply refusaed to have them put another inferior product on our floor and demanded a refund. They now claim that, even though the product did not do what it was intended (by their technician's admission) they were not obligated to refund our money because there was no peeling, cracking, chipping or yellowing. It is a brown floor, but Rachel still disallowed the yellowing because she clims the product just does not yellow. (Althought Rachel never saw the floor, they obviously do not beleive the technician they sent out who told us to our face that it was not right.) The manager did not seem to recognize or care that their verbal confirmation that the floor would not dull if properly maintained and their written claim on the website that the product performs as good as urethene was a gross misrepresentation that caused us to make the decision to hire them. Of course, we have asked numerous times to speak to the local franchise owner, Mr. Kevin Sprouse, but Mr. Sprouse refuses to call. Perhaps if Mr. Sprouse has a confrontation phobea, he should get a job that incorporates integrity into the product, service and representations. Ripped off St. Charles, MissouriU.S.A.

Defenders - Defender Direct - ADT - Defender Loyalty Bait & Switch - Removed and took original alarm keypad and Power adapter West Palm Beach Nationwide
Saturday, February 27, 2016 early morning, a Defender technician named Luis Lasalle, account #xx814, who I thought was ADT, arrived and we began building a system to our houses needs. Once all areas of concern were covered, and after some time and several calls to his supervisor we also finally agreed on a price that would work on both ends. He began to work first removing my original alarms power supply plug in adapter by the systems control box in the laundry room, and the arm/disarm keypad by the front door. I mentioned I would like to keep all the old equipment for use elsewhere, he said sure, and left both devices on my laundry room’s washing machine. Now, after several hours have passed installing new devices and going over some of the systems features, he once again stepped outside making a phone call. Eventually he came back in and stated our agreed price was now no good and will be $800.00 more than quoted before installation. Now frustrated, I didn’t agree with the new amount and directed to please remove everything new just installed. Luis did remove all devices installed and apologized over and over. Luis didn’t reinstall my old devices, nor did I ask him to because I felt bad thinking he was told it was ok to do the install as quoted, and now after all that work and a wasted day had to remove everything. I even tipped him $20.00 right as he left. Less than 30 minutes after he left, I was getting ready to reinstall my old system devices, just to find out they are nowhere to be found anywhere. I believe, originally, he didn’t actually believe he took my devices. He was placing all the sensors in a Tupperware type bin as he collected them along with all the other devices as he was removing them from the windows, doors and walls. But, it was the same bin he placed my original old alarm devices in on top of my washing machine. I think they were buried in the same bin and forgotten about. I also think eventually he thought, after I have called complaining several times and was probably asked, “Ok, let me check my truck and double check if they are actually in there.” May have found my old devices, but wouldn’t admit this to the company because he already said several times he didn’t have them. I don’t know, they’re not worth a whole lot. I have small children. The door and window chime are extremely important, along with the alarm protection. But now, I have no alarm at all, where I did have at least a working alarm. As of now, you have left me waiting to hear back from a department called the loyalty department which was supposed to have sent me an email I could respond to with an invoice of all missing parts and damage itemized. No such email ever arrived. I have attempted to reach Sierra or Sara Compton 317-808-7863 with no results other than this email I am supposed to receive.

St. Louis Hills Pharmacy Poor customer service St. Louis Missouri
They gave me incorrect medicine and sending medicine with a signature required.  Asked if they could send it without the signature.  Said yes.  Placed a refill order once they got my medicine correct on their phone app, stated on that app no will will be home, please send with no signature required.  Called 3 times to verify it was on its way & no signature required, since it was the first time I used the app.  They confirmed each time yes.  Guess what!   Yep - Signature is required no one is there & my medicine is not being delievered!  Unbelievable!  I tried to give them one last chance after sending me the incorrect medicine but again - are you kidding me?  Compound medicines can not be done by big name local pharmacies.  Well obviously cannot be done by them either.  I already called the insurance company & told them NOT to refer anyone to them again.  Medicines/health are important.  Correct medicines are even more important.  Need to take your professions a little more serious.  Pay attention to what you are doing & what the customer is requesting.
