What a scam...   Mr. Jack Weight III, entered my store offering me a deal to hard to pass up, which should of been my first clue!!!  6000 flyers designed and distributed for 115.00 if I commited that day!  From a business aspect that is unbeatable....  sure they are black and white flyers, but still for 115 x 6000 flyers, hard to pass up!  So my flyer was designed... what a joke!  I ended up designing myself, emailed and that was the last I heard!  Numerous phone calls, text messages etc.. nothing!!!  Do not use this company, delawarediningonline.com...  they do not do what they say they are going to do!  Maybe I am wrong, maybe he did complete the job and just has poor customer service, but I find it very hard to believe that 6000 flyers went out and I received NO RETURN!!!!!!!

Saveology Dining Worst. Company. Ever, Internet
I have never encountered a more dishonest, unprofessional and and all around terrible company before. I was offered a trial to the 'new' Saveology Dning Club after purchasing a discount deal from their original 'Saveology' discount website. While the Customer Service agent was speaking, I wrote down all information- that it was a 30 day trial for $9.95. Within that trial, I was free to cancel at any time.Or so they said. Fast-forward to 15+ phone calls along with three emails and I still have not been refunded. I was billed for three months of service, when I cancelled the trial 10 days in.If you are fortunate to reach someone in customer service, they all say the same thing. You are not able to speak to anyone in charge, they say they are not available. Each person I spoke with kept repeating to me that my case would be escalated and it would be reviewed by higher management. Contact back to me was never made.Their support team is completely inept, after 45+ minutes of hold time- they just repeat there is nothing they can do. Of course, this is in-between chatting with each other about their lunch plans, what time they get off work, etc. while 'typing in your information'.Please- run, do not walk away from this complete rip off company!!

WBFF FOX 45 Dining Deals 50% Off Gift Cirtificate Baltimore, Maryland
Just wanted to warn anyone in the Baltimore area who is planning on ordering one of these gift certificates. Fox news has commericals for the Baltimore Dinning deals, you will find on the website a different Resturant every week has a certain amount of girft certificates avalaible to purchase at half price, promising delivery within 7-10 days. I purchased one gift certificate and I had to pay $2.88 for shipping and handling on 12/06/09, the payment cleared my account on 12/09/09.  It is now 12/23/09 exactly 10 days after (not including weekends) the day payment cleared my account and no gift certificate has arrived... I am wondering if it will even come at all.  Very unreliable you are better off using (((competitor's name redacted))) sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Showtime has turned into one of the most ghetto bars in pueblo colorado. Waitresses wont give your change back,they overcharge,bouncers are overweight losers. I have went to showtime for quite some time and at least a dozen occasions I have been ripped for my change of at least 5-10 dollars. The bouncers dance with the people on the dance floor instead of doing there job. There was an occasion were the roof had a leak and a bouncer was too busy dancing to tend to the leak. The bathrooms always smell like fecal matter. And they are attracting the wrong crowd. The bar itself is a nice place but the owner has been making bad business decisions hiring less than employees to work as bouncers. I witnessed an individual get turned away from admission over his hat but yet there were 30+ people in the bar with hats. Employing oxymorons is bad business no matter what niche your in.

Ordered a server/buffet and received a written guarantee of 4 weeks with an option to cancel the order if the item was damaged or delayed.The item was both damged, and now delayed with an estimated delivery time of 12-13 weeks.  After the 2nd delay, I elected to cancel the order as per the written guarantee provided to me by the Dining Room Discount sales personThey did promptly cancel the order, but withheld $59 for Paypal fees.  No such fee was ever discussed, posted on their website, or communicated over the phone during our last conversation.  When initially paid for, my invoice amount was for $1026.38, the exact sale price, which included the item itself and shipping.  No separate PayPal fees were ever delinated on my invoice.They admit that they did not properly disclose these fees but at the same time refused to correct the short pay.My Credit Card company/bank removed the short pay amount from my balance, placed it in dispute and opened a fraud claim against this company for this deceptive billing practice.  They have since received all of my email communication with Dining Room Discount and have initiated the reversing of the short pay amount back to them.

ABC Six on your side and Dirty Dining are hurting small restaurant businesses.  While the people may have the right to view Columbus Health Department case reports, it seems like Dirty Dining is a little biased in the way it presents these stories.  First of all, it seems like Dirty Dining is only reporting from a subjective point of view and doesn't really tell the entire story.While it may be true that they don't have the space to cover everything, it does hurt and damage businesses.  I think Dirty Dining could be a bit more objective in their reports.  Tom Sussi seems like a real douche bag on screen, now I don't know if that persona is something viewers like, but let's just say his opinions about local restaurants based on health department citations are not always objective.   I always believed the media was supposed to be objective, but it seems like ABC 6 Dirty Dining's only goal is to ruin small businesses, namely minority owned businesses.  Take a look at the clips, nearly 80% of all the restaurants featured in Dirty Dining are small businesses owned by minorities such as Asian, Hispanic and Middle Eastern.   Dirty Dining is NOT objective news reporting and the commentary by Tom Sussi do nothing but hurt a business owner's situation.  Most of the Health Department violations are similar to speeding tickets; sh*t happens and they are easily fixed so there is no reason to ostracize a restaurant from the community, ABC 6 Dirty Dining.  Dirty Dining is all about the ratings and I believe this program either needs to be shut down or toned down a little.  Many times the opinions of Dirty Dining are not as disgusting or severe as Tom Sussi and ABC Six would like you to believe.  All of these reports are entirely subjective and are only partial to the facts.

Farnsworth House Inn - Dining Room Inedible food, poor service - and roaches! Gettysburg Pennsylvania
I have to say that in more than 45 years of dining out, I have never had a worse meal given the price. My party and I found the food disgusting and in several cases, inedible. Moreover, given that we were in Gettysburg to give two young boys an authentic historical experience that was promised on their website, the disappointment was even greater. Some of the main problems: My colleague was served a grossly inferior quality New York strip. Tough as leather, without flavor and totally overcooked. Outrageous for the $21 price. Asked for medium rare, was served charred and past well done. Inedible and sent back, and he did not ask for a replacement since, based on the other food, we had no faith that their kitchen could produce a decent steak. I was served a tiny, flavorless, and grossly overcooked filet mignon. Even with butter on top (which I had asked the waitress not to do) this was an inedible piece of steak. I took one bite and did not touch the rest. My steak, as well as my friend's, also was sprinkled with some type of cheese, which was not on the menu and was not requested. What if he or I had had an allergy to cheese? I have had far better steaks in a $7.95 steak house like Ponderosa. To charge $22 for this piece of leather is an outrage. Overly sweet, mass-produced, institutional cole slaw served right from a plastic bucket. Unbelievable in a fine dining restaurant. None of the three of us who ordered it as a side even touched it. I doubt that folks dining in the 1860s shopped at Costco. A hamburger made with sour-tasting meat, perhaps even spoiled meat, and overcooked to the point of being carbonized, on a flattened and stale bun. Repulsive. Stale, flavorless bread that had the constituency of loaves that are frozen and reheated in a microwave. Served with institutional butter in foil. Pumpkin fritters, the only thing that were approaching decent and authentic, were nonetheless greasy (obviously cooked in oil that was not nearly hot enough). Open yourself institutional cup of sour cream accompanying an undercooked potato. Again, unbelievable that the Farnsworth House, which is priced at and purports to be a fine dining establishment, would serve sour cream in this way. This repulsive food was topped off by terrible service: - Asked waitress to bring out bread. She replied that bread was coming out with the main course, so we had to insist on bread right away. Still waited 15 minutes with two hungry boys who had been running all over the battlefield for hours on a cold day. - Unusually long time to serve main course. Well over 35 minutes after appetizers were served. - Waited almost 15 minutes just to have our initial order taken. . - Waited almost a half-hour for someone to clear our table that was full of dirty dishes. I had to ask the hostess to clear them. Didn't see a single bus person. And the piece de resistance: As we left, we saw roaches crawling on paintings that were hanging in the entrance stairway. Two emails and a phone call to the proprietor, one Mr. Schultz, went unanswered. And I have learned that the Farnsworth House Inn has a standing roach problem. And aside from the so-called period costumes worn by the incompetent serving staff, there was nothing remotely charming about this place. I would warn my worst enemy to stay away from this placeno one should pay what the Farnsworth charges for such a disappointing, disgusting and evidently unsanitary experience. We too were given the limo ride/dinner gift card and the limo was a no show. We went ahead and went to the restaurant for our 8 PM reservation and there was no 8 PM reservation. P.E.M of course cashed the check I sent them for tax on the limo ride. I haven't yet set a date for my 3 day/2 night trip and don't think I will as I will just lose more money. The Dining Car & Market Worst Service EVER!!! Nasty RUDE Staff!!! WILL NEVER GO BACK Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
I was at the Dining Car & Market while on vacation last week, I must say it was the worst time I ever had eating out. Yes the place looks nice and clean but when you get in you realize the issue. First I was there with my two sons aged 8 and 11 and we could not believe our ears. The staff were talking about a sexual episode they had the night before. I really dont understand how a business could employe teens who sit and talk about sex while working. I complained to the manager I think her name was terry and she told me that and I quote our staff can talk about whatever they want whenever they want when I realized that there was no talking to this Terry i paid my bill and left. On my way out Terry made a remark to the other staff who were just standing around that we were to uptight for them. anyways.. I just wanted to  warn anyone out there wondering or thinking about going to this spot. DO NOT GO! SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND ANGER!

dining room discounts!worst ever service and products, they advertise produts stating brand new products with excellent service, completely ripoff, they sold me a used product, i took the pictures and send them stating the product was used, they send me a replacement which was broken and again used, i did not accept the product and send it back to them, they send me an email stating and i quote (normal distressing) on a brand new product, really!!! thier customer sucess manager (this what his title is seriously) andrian, keeps playing with time and giving me excuses and after several delays comes back with an email stating upper management has decided they cant help because it more than 15 days, Duh!!, if you go on (i will and i am trying) for four weeks whose mistake is that. well it has reached to a point where i am going to small claims court because i wont letthem get of the hook so easy for cheating me into something thats used and refurbrished, if they would addvertised it has such i would not have problems with it, this company is bogus and you all should be aware, i found the samething at macys for the same price and yeah its brand new.

I placed an order in September 2016 for various food products.  (order#31853)  Weeks later, I finally got a shipping confirmation for a partial order.  Many items, about a third of the order, were not shipped.  I replied to this notice, requesting an aproximate date when the shipment or a refund would be sent.There was no reply.  Since that time, I've sent many emails, tried to call, left messages and have never gotten a response.  I tried to find a facebook page for them - I guess they don't have one.  Now, I'm out $165.75, on a bank account that doesn't exist anymore - we changed to a credit union.

On June 20, 2017, I placed an order online for some living room furniture for my sitting area.  After placing the order, I did not receive a copy of my order, but I took me to a screen that provided the order number.  I screen shout it and called the company and said I did not get a copy  They told me it would be in my email.  After a few day of not seeing an email, I called again and they told me they could not find it.  I gave them my email address and they still could not find my order.  I then gave them a copy of the order number that I had screen shot, and they told me it was in processing.After another week or two went by I called again and asked about my order and I was given the same answer.  After a month. July 14, 2017.  I sent an email to cancel my order.  I explained that I have been asking about my order for over a month and I never received a copy of my order.  When i said I wanted to cancel I all of a sudden received a copy of my order, then I told them I wanted to cancel it because after a month of no answers about my order.  I had order the furniture from Amazon.  Alvin the sells rep offered me $25 off my order, but I said not.He then offered me $50 all the way to $400.00 not to cancel my order.  I told him no each time he asked me and then I asked if I agree can you get my furniture by the 2nd week in August.   He said he would ask the supervisor, but never guarantee me a delivery date.   I sent another email and said my credit card was not charged at that time so, it should be easy to cancel my order.  On. July 20, 2017 my credit card was charged for the furniture.   I called my credit card company and disputed the charges.  Several days, a manager Steven called around 3:00pm and I explained everything to him that I order the furniture from Amazon, but I did not keep the Sofas because the delivery guys could not get it through my doors.  he said he would send someone to disassemble the furniture, put it in the room of my choice and put it back together, and we will refund me  the cost of the  chairs,  since I had kept the chairs from Amazon.   He would get back with me and let me know about the assembling of my furniture.   I said ok.The next morning around 10:00am.  I called which was less than the 24 hours’ notice they required.  I said I only need one sofa.  He said the person in charge of my order is on the phone and will call you back shortly.  I called several times up until 5:00pm. I asked who was in charge of my account and can I get her email address.   I was told Raquel.    I sent her an email explain that I have been trying to call her all da.   I wanted to cancel the order because No one is replying to me, and I have been trying to make sure I received one sofa would be shipped instead of two.   I received a call immediately and she said was on the phone, she was sorry, she called back get back with me on Monday, and that my order could not ship because it was in dispute. I did not hear from her Raquel until Tuesday, she was sick and she told me the furniture had already shipped.  We went back and forth and I told her that I had tried to cancel my one of the sofa; you told me that my order could not ship because it was in dispute and now my order has ship.  I contacted my credit card and I do not know what was said, but I was charged, for restocking fees and other charges. $3296.02.  I am out 3k, I have not heard from any one, and I have no furniture.

I signed up for a 1 month free trial of Saveology dining. I cancelled before the trial ended and was given a cancellation number. The representative also told me I would receive an email confirming the cancellation. However I never received an email so I called the company back twice.  Both times the represtatives confirmed my cancellation number and informed me that my account was cancelled. They also told me I wouldn't be charged for anything. However my account was charged the membership fee. I called the company and the representative told me the cancellation number I had was actually a claim number. They told me my account had never been cancelled, nor did they have any documentation of me ever cancelling. They refused to give me a refund at first. However the representative then told me she would cancel my account and send an escallation email and guaranteed me a refund.  She told me I would receive a refund in 3 days, and to call back if I didn't see the refund in my account. Well after 4 days there was no refund, so I called the company back. The representative I spoke to informed me that no refund request had been sent.. Also I found out that my conversation again hadn't been documented on their side. But the representative said they would send the escalation up with no guarantee of a refund.This company is HORRIBLE!!!!! Everyone I talked to was very dishonest!!I called my bank and filled the transaction as a fraudelement claim, as I didn't authorize Saveology to take money. I will receive my money back from my bank and Saveology will have to deal directly with my bank.Beware of this company!!

Calico Jacks Difficult dining experience Altamonte Springs Florida
We as a party of five visited this restaurant/bar on the evning of March 15th, 2008. We were very surprised by the rudeness of the servers, the poor food and one of our party became sick after eating there later in the evening. We were visiting friends in the area and went there because it was a short distance from our hotel. We would have been better off going to many of the other numerous restaurants in the area. The dining areas were also generally poorly kept clean and the tables and chairs are showing their age. It seems this area of town is starting to go downhill a bit since years ago as suggested by the friends we were visiting. John Tampa, FloridaU.S.A.

Saveology mamgazine co dining discount dollars gone wrong Internet
I ordered a 25 dollar Uno's gift card for $12 which seemed like a great deal. You had to call Saveolgy to redeem you vboucher to get the gift card mailed. When I called them they told me about these $100 discount dining dollars for 4.95. I was hesitant because the representive was being a little vague on what it was but it sounded kind of cool and he name dropped Dave and Busters, a place I love, saying I could use it there. So I gave my credit card number to saveolgy for the DDD. They said I was going to receive an email of a company trying to offer me free magazine included with it and I could decline it. I was not aware that saveolgy gave my credit card number to this magazine company to charge me. I went on the website immediately and said I didn't want magazines because I thought I may receive a paper bill from them after a couple of magazines and I just don't trust magazine companies. Theres a cart on the website when you sign it with your phone number so i deleted the magazines out of the cart and never added any in or picked any. A month and half later,maybe two months? I have a magazine co charge for 39.99. I still haven't received my discount dining dollars or any magazines that I never wanted!

I got the card as a gift, I can't believe the person paid $120 for this worthless deal! There isn't a single restaurant on the list that I would go to. With groupon, living social, etc. it's crazy to pay this kind of money, unless you know that someone will use it and that person goes to a participating restaurant all the time. On top of everything the card is not transferable and they are refusing to give a refund! Plain scam!

Wagners conned me out of twelve thousand dollars. I was in the market for twelve barstools. I spoke with the sales representative who said they would be a custom order. I told him I needed them on a guarateed delivery. The salesperson indicated that they could be in within two weeks. I asked him if he could guranty it it writing. He told me he could not. I told the sales person, John, that I wanted to hold off on the order to see if I could find another supplier who could guaranty delivery. John told me it would save time if I completed the paperwork and he would hold the order until I notified him that I wanted to purchase the barstools. The next day i contacted the store and John was not there. I explained the situation to the perosn on the the phone that I would not be placing the order with Wagners. The person indicated they would pass it on. Subsequently, I had numerous converstations with them, which they tried to sell me other barstools. At no time did they ever tell me they had run the credit card and I would be obligated for the sale. After I received my statement, I called and told them they had made a mistake. I told them I was not obligated and had made arrangement with John. They told me my barstools were in stock and I should come and pick them up. I found out later that they had never been ordered and Wagners was trying to cheat a customer out of the Profit on a lost sale. Run from this business as fast as you can. I recently read a report from someone being scammed by Dining Diamond and regretted that I didn't know about this website earlier so I could've posted a report and warning people about the Dining Diamond scam. Back in early March, I was looking for craigslist while searching for a job in the Food/Beverages/Hospitality industry when I came across the posting asking for Bartenders/Servers/Barbacks/Cocktail Servers to apply, even with no experience. They posted that they have been a long running company in events and catering services. I decided to email them my resume and photos like requested and received a call from them 2 weeks later, requesting to do a phone interview so I did one on the spot. The man informed me that I passed the first phone interview and that his manager will give me a call for the 2nd phone interview in a few days. I thought it was odd since I've never heard of two straight phone interviews for bartenders before but since he sounded legit so I prepared and waited for the 2nd phone interview. On the 2nd phone interview, a man named David Talmid had given me a call and instead of interviewing me, he had informed me that I passed after he looked at my resume and result from the 1st interview. He then went on to explain about the services they provide, my wonderful wages, along with the $129 online course that I have to take even though I had already received my Mixologist License from the most credible school in New York. He said that it's just to confirm that I have the knowledge necessary for me before I can start my paid hands-on traning. He asked if it was possible for me to register by 9pm that same day before he leaves the office so that he can start on the processing of my paperwork even thogh the interview was at 7pm, so I had 2 hours to register. He said that the job was guaranteed only if I pass the course, and I know I would've definitely passed it. He told me the job is guaranteed once I pass the course, and there's a time limit of how long he can hold the job for. He also asked me to email the certificate to him after I receive it from passing the course. I agreed and we hung up. Afterwards, I wondered if it was really a scam since I've never heard of a job asking me to pay for my own training course before, though I have to admit this David Talmid sounded quite professional and credible on the phone, but then, scammers always try to come off with a perfect cover as well. I started searching for info on the website and the company and nothing came up other than the website diningdiamond.com. Same goes for the website mixpros.net that they had asked to register for the $129 course. Based off the info on diningdiamond.com, the company has been around since the 90s, and mixpros.net has been around for 3 years. However, when I looked into the info of the website, I found it suspicious that both diningdiamond.com and mixpros.net have only been created on Jan 31st, 2014!! They both have been created on the same day and existed only for 2 months!! After thinking about it carefully, I decided that it was best to not waste my time and money on something so suspicious and can possibly be a scam, since who knows, he might just tell me that I didn't get the job even after I had passed the course as he instructed. Two weeks later, I received an email from him asking me to URGENTLY sign up for the course or the job is not guaranteed, and having been in the industry, I know that normal employers would just forget about you and move on to the next applicant and they would've never sounded so desperate like that so I was sure at this point that it was a scam. I do regret that I didn't get a chance to post this report beforehand so others could be aware of this scam, but everyone, please don't fall for this.

Saveology Dining charged fees to a dead man Florida Internet
When the first charge appeared on my credit card statement I contacted Saveology on their website using the electronic means they provided to contact them. The same day I received an email acknowledging my email. Saveology's email stated they would address my concern and included a report/incident number. That is all the response I received from Saveology. I informed the company on five separate occasions that the person who opened this account had died, that Saveology's discount dining service had never been used  and would never be used. I asked Saveology to stop billing my credit card and end my dead husband's account with them. The first credit card charge was April 2014. Saveology again billed my credit card in May and June of 2014. Saveology completely ignored my request and complaints, all five times! I have notified my credit card company that I will not pay the Saveology charges. I will continue to try to get Saveology to correct their arrogant practices.

Internet Income Training Received Suspect Invitation to Free Conference and Dining Package Seattle Washington
When I received the inviation today, August 8, 2006, I was immediately suspicious. I Googled the Seattle address which led me to this web site. After reading several similar experiences, of actual victims, I decided to submit mine, even though I will not be a participant. My experiecne shows this company, Internet Income Training, is traveling all over and is now in Northern California. They offer what is called a value of $120, completely free, with no obligation but to attend the 90-minute conference, after which you will be served breakfast, lunch or dinner at a choice you make from three sites in this area. The flyer is slick, but automatically triggered suspicion. As a senior individual I think I'm better equipped to detect fraud than younger folks with less exposure and experience. Being told the wait would be 30-45 minutes, we waited in the bar/lounge area. I ordered a beer. It was warm, and the inside of the glass smelled of disinfectant. I sent it back. I ordered sashimi, octopus and Ahi tuna. We waited and waited. Finally we were seated in the main dining area before the sashimi arrived, but only the octopus. They were out of Ahi tuna. The octopus was warm and very tough. I had already paid the bill in the bar area, so the waitress was confused about refunding my money for the tuna. Seating in the main dinning area was frigid. An air conditioning vent blew cold air right down the back of our necks. The chef's name was Sanchez. The table next to our's chef was Carlos. Do you think we Americans so ignorant that we cannot tell an Asian from a Mexican? The bus boy stood in the corner obsessively chewing his fingernails, until they started to actually bleed. This was very disgusting to watch. The chef could not successfully juggle, nor flip items to anyone's satisfaction. MOR Furniture Purchased dining room set in June, still waiting for delivery in September! Tempe Arizona
My mother in law went to MOR Furniture and picked out a beautiful dining room set that included a large table, a hutch and a china cabinet. The table and chairs were delivered. Then the hutch. And she has been waiting since June for the china cabinet. No one has called her to advise of the delay. Every communication, both in person and over the phone has been started by my mother in law. The last she was told at the beginning of August was that her furniture piece was on the boat. Because it was made in Germany, it had to be shipped by boat. That boat must have sunk, because the furniture has never arrived! Today my mother in law visited the store again. The store has the china cabinet on display. She asked if they would allow her to have the floor model. No! The manager refused to give her the floor model. Instead, she received another song and dance. When asked when the cabinet would be in, she was told the middle of September. When asked for a guarantee, the Mor furniture employees refused. How long should a customer go without receiving their product before getting concerned? Is three months excessive? We think so. Mor has their money. My mother does not have her product. Johnson's Family Resturant, Johnson's Finer Dining Charges you for spoiled food sent back. Southgate Michigan
My friend and I ordered lunch at Johnson's resturant which constisted of a bacon cheeseburger, 2 hot chocolates, a cup of coffee, steak sandwich and a small glass of milk. When my steak sandwich arrived it was so fatty I could not even bite it. I took two bites out of the sandwich and told the waitress I could not eat it. She looked at the steak and agreed. She asked if I wanted something else. I ordered a grilled cheese and cup of bean soup. While waiting for my new order, I took a drink of milk and it was spoiled. My friend tasted it and confirmed this. I told the waitress and she took it and brought me a coke. When I got the bill it was 18.00 and some change. I looked over the bill at the registar and noticed she charged me for the steak sandwich. When I asked her about it, the manager (or owner I assume)was sitting at the counter jumped up and started yelling at me. She said if you don't have money to pay your bill don't come in here. I was stunned. I told her I have more than enough money to pay my bill but do not feel I should be charged for food I did not eat. She started talking to the waitress loud enough for the other customers to hear about how she does not want customers like me in her resturant and to adjust my bill. She slammed a menu down on the counter and yelled at me to check the prices and make sure she had the bill right. I was embarrased and know I was over charged again because the adjusted bill came to 15.05. But I just wanted out of this place. When I told my co-workers about the incident, one of them said the same thing happened to her family, when she was served spoiled hamburger and they charged her for it even though it was sent back. This is no way to do business, and someone should explain to this woman about customer service and over charging. I have never been treated with such rudeness and disrespect from a business, and have filed a complaint with the BBB. Campnfish2001 lincoln park, MichiganU.S.A.

Kirby Vacuum Cleaners Ripoff Ruined the brocade covers on my dining room chair seats Nationwide
A few days before Christmas, at about 5PM, a woman came to our door asking if she or one of her friends could clean our carpet or shampoo furniture. 15 minutes later, a guy came in with a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner. He proceeded to vacuum the heck out of my carpets, using the white filter method. Lots of gunk; wondered where it had come from, as my carpets had been shampooed only 3 DAYS EARLIER! By this time, it was almost 6, and dinner was burning. The salesman said he had to do so many filters, then he would clean my furniture. My husband and I proceeded to sit down to eat our dinner. At about 6:15, the salesman started to spread foam on all the seats of my dining room chairs. He never even did a test patch; he didn't spread the foam evenly or all over each seat. In the meantime, his Manager came in, who tried to sell us the vacuum cleaner for $2,500. When we balked at the price, he asked, How much WOULD you pay? We said $700. He scoffed at that, and said that we didn't know a good vacuum cleaner when we saw one. We asked about a machine WITHOUT the furniture cleaning parts, and he said he couldn't sell it that way. OH WELL. By the time we were ready to leave for an appointment, it was about 6:45. The foam had dried on our chairs, leaving dark lines where the foam had not been spread all the way to the edges. We were assured that when the chairs dried all the way, the lines would be gone. The manager left, and the salesman had to pack up his box, which took him almost 20 minutes. He then said he had to wait for the return of his Manager. By that time, we HAD to leave, so we put the guy out on our front porch to wait. We felt bad, but he had been there more than two hours at that point. Subsequently, the foam lines did NOT go away. I called the manager to file a claim (he had left a flyer with his number). He told me to send him an estimate for recovering the chairs. He also said his insurance company would be calling me, buthe didn't know their name. (!)I send him a certified letter, return receipt. He signed for it, but I have never spoken to him again. The estimate was for about $350. He has not returned any calls. I am really pretty angry at the way we had been duped, and the time we spent!!! By the way, the Manager lives in Illinois, and we are in Wisconsin. I do not think he even had a solicitation permit! Mary Lou Milwaukee, WisconsinU.S.A.
