Furniture From Home Review: Took My Money and Never Delivered Costa Mesa California
We ordered some bedroom furniture from this company.  They took our money upfront claiming the items were backordered and that we have to pay upfront to order.  Originally they said the products will be delivered in 12 weeks.  It has been over 3 months and we still have not received the products we ordered. Called multiple times to their office and each time they gave an excuse the products were on the way. After 3 months we still have not received the products we paid for.  We are tired of waiting.  Return my money now! I have already filed a complaint with the better business bureau.  DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!  They are a fraud operating out of a tiny fake office in Costa Mesa.

Home Furniture LLC Three J's furniture, The Furniture Showroom -- Keith and Elizabeth Byrd Do not buy furniture from this company -- Broken promises raleigh, North Carolina
I replied to an ad on craigslist listed by Home furniture LLC. I wanted to buy a mocha color microfiber sectional. I called the number in the post and spoke with Liz Byrd. She setup an appointment to meet her husband Keith Byrd. I met him and arrived at a place that had barely no sign on the business located next to a grocery store. There was furniture inside the store, but the furniture I wanted was in a catalog. I paid him almost $700 by check.. and it cleared in the next two days. He wrote on the receipt All sales Final, as well as two phone number, one to contact him and one to contact his wife. As well as the word ASAP for shipping purposes. I was told the furniture might get in the next week. I gave him the money Feb 8th 2012. He has dodged my phone calls only picking up a few times, and I still haven't gotten my furniture. I told him on March 8th via text message, I wanted my money back if the furniture wasn't in by the 9th, and he told me All sales final and that he would call me when it was in. March 12th came and I still hadn't heard from this guy. I called his phone and the number was disconnected. I called his wifes number and there was a message saying the business had closed down. I did some research on this guy, and I found troubling information about people who give him money and never get their furniture. Some get it, but many others don't. I am in contact with 4 recent customer's who haven't gotten their furniture, or their money back, nor have they heard from him. I also left a voice mail on the wife's phone asking him to call me, and have heard no word. I have filed a complaint on the BBB website, and the BBB closed the website because Keith told them they are no longer in business. There is a news report on WRAL where he didn't give a customer her furniture until after the news reporters contacted him... I don't care how long he has been in business dealing with furniture, don't buy from him via check or cash.. you might not get your product. This is not a good business to deal with. I would never do this unless I was not happy about the business. He has defamed his own name doing this to me and other trusting people who came into his business. I WANT my MONEY BACK!

Furniture From Home Milan, owner of Furniture From Home ripped me off -- BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY Costa Mesa California (CA)
i ordered an Aico living room set from Furniture From Home over the internet without first seeing the products.  At first the sales was friendly and even got his boss Milan Rousset to give us a discount.  We thought we were getting a great deal since he gave us a 10% off the $8,000.00 Aico set.  I later found out that their prices were $2500.00 higher than another store.But by then I had already ordered the furniture from this company.  They promised me white glove delivery with in 4-5 weeks.  almost 1 month went by and i still have not heard anything from the store.  I called many times and each time they told me that my delivery will be there soon.  Almost 8 weeks into my order and I still have not heard from anyone.  when i finally got a hold of the owner Milan, he told me my items were damaged and had to be repaired.  well, they could have told me that earlier instead of lying to me!  The items arrived finaly after 9 weeks and the boxes were damged.  they told me white glove delivery but they driver never helped us with the assembly.  he simply left the boxes inside our house.  of course, once we opened the furniture, i can see the areas where repaired had been done.  so i called the store for a return and refund.  Milan, the owner, told me that i could only return if i paid $800 to have it returned.  they sell me used and repaired items and charged me for new prices and won't return my money! these guys, Milan, and the rest of the company are horrible people and terrible service.

Furniture From Home I ordered a bedroom set in September, 2014. Furniture wasnt delivered until December, 2014. California Internet
 I first contacted the company to get specific information concerning the furniture I was interested in. I spoke with one sales associate. When I was ready to order the furniture, I called the same number but the associate I dealt with was no longer with the company. I checked on the furniture to see if it was still available. I was told yes. All the pieces were available. A few weeks later, when my money was right I called to let them know I was sending the money in full. I was advised that if I put the money in their account it would start the process immediately. It was done, but it still took them about a week to start their process. The second sales associate advised me that it would take three weeks to start the trucking of the furniture. I allowed the time to get the futniture so I checked to see what date it would be delivered. I kept get excuse after excuse. I kept asking for my money to be returned to me. I was advised the certain pieces were there and if I wanted those pieces to be delivered I could arrange it. I told them, no I wanted my complete order delivered together. They give you an estimated date of arrival the furniture will be delivered to their warehouse, not when you, the customer, will be receiving it. Then they have everything, except for one piece. It is on a container waiting to go through customs. The associate did not know of the timetable in dealing with Customs, so she would tell me a timetable that did not materialize. In following up, I found out her timetable was not correct. I started dealing with another person who tried to help the associate. This was about two or three weeks. The furniture is now loaded on the truck to come east. I was thinking it was being sent directly. Think again. When the furniture reaches Atlanta, the trucking company called with a date and time it should reach my home. This date was about two days earlier than the date given by Furniture From Home. Now the date and time arrives. No truck, no furniture. Then 3 hours later, the driver calls updating the time as the delivery before mine caused the delay. The truck arrived. They unloaded the pieces and brought them in and set each piece. As I was told by Furniture From Home accounting, the furniture was well worth the wait. And it was. Two problem: one button to turn on the light at the dresser was missing. It was later mailed to me. Second, I told them that my drawers in the dresser were not put in were pulling them out or pushing them in. Nothing was done on this matter.

Furniture From Home took forever to deliver damaged dining suite and unwilling to make it right Costa Mesa California
I purchased a VERY expensive dining set from this company. More than I've ever paid for any furniture, but it looked beautiful online and was replacing a set that was destroyed when we moved. The set included a table with 3 leaves, 8 chairs and a triple wide china cabinet. I placed the order the first week of October, and paid extra to ensure the set would arrive prior to Thanksgiving.  It arrived just before Christmas! (They DID refund the extra delivery charges after I complained.) That was where the nightmare began. They changed the delivery date & time several times. On the actual confirmed delivery day, they were to arrive by noon.  They showed up after 9:00PM, waking my child and totally disrupting the household. It took a couple of hours for them to bring in and set up all the furniture. Once they were done, I immediately saw that almost every piece was damaged somehow. There was a crack in the table, so the delivery driver pulled out a marker and colored in the crack, as if that would be the best solution. We spotted several other issues that night, but the rest weren't visible until the next couple of days when we could see things in daylight. Some of the other issues included multiple cracks in the table and chairs, one chair leg completely broken off, silverware holder in china cabinet was broken beyond repair, rubber surrounding glass not installed correctly (appears some glass had broken at some point because there were shards of glass in the china cabinet,) gouges and scratches on every single piece. I contacted my credit card company to have them reverse the charges until this could be resolved. They said it could take up to 8 weeks to investigate. Furniture From Home rep waited until the last possible moment to contact me to arrange for repairs. (Literally, the night before the credit was to be made permanent!) They offered to send someone to repair the damages. Then I didn’t hear from them for another month, so I contacted my credit card company again to investigate. Once again, the rep from Furniture From Home waited until the last day to get in touch with me. They arranged for the repair company to call me to schedule repairs. When the repair company tried to reach them to say they needed to be paid up front before they would do the repairs (since they had no established relationship with Furniture From Home) THEIR calls were ignored for a couple of weeks too! Eventually, they worked out their end and showed up to make repairs. The repair company did their best to fix everything, but all the damages were still visible… just looked like a patch job. Considering the exorbitant price I was charged, the furniture should have been pristine! Never once did they offer to replace the damaged goods. The repair company had me sign a voucher that said they had been there, and that is how Furniture From Home was able to scam my credit card company into thinking I was satisfied, so they paid them and closed the inquiry. This company is HORRIBLE. I have gotten nothing but a runaround from them. The quality of the furniture is NOT worth what they charge and their customer service is HORRENDOUS! I placed this order at the beginning of October and it is now the end of JUNE and I'm STILL trying to get this straightened out. STAY AWAY from this company!!!

I hate ashley store. I am living in Winnipeg Manitoba.I  spent almost 3000 to buy a format dinning room set in st James st. When they delivered to our house. All the dinning chairs are not stable. They are shaking a lot . We can not even sit on the chair. And the dinning table has a big gap. Then we went to the store. They told me they will contact me and fix the problem. But nobody called. In the store We found that the price is600 dollars less than we bought . Then we found the salesperson, he thought it is reasonable to do the price match. When he tried to return our money. Who is called himself store manager came and said he refused to return our money. I am just wondering how can be a store manger in Ashley?  Because they are more greedy than others? He cheated my money, I can not believe in Canada I met such a bad person. They cheated me as a fool!! Just steal the money from me. I am pregnant, in the store I am sad. I can not believe I had this experience. I don't know who can help me. It is not how much I was cheated. It is like somebody steal money from me. HOME SPUN HOME FURNITURE, CRATE FURNITURE took money from credit card $345.00 but did not deliver goods, many excuses they had. Richmond Virginia
Last Aug. 07 ordered cushion covers for my furniture to the tune of $345.00. They debited my credit card. Was suppose to receive order in 6 wks. 8-10 wks. passed heard nothing. When I called them, there was a recording saying that they closed one warehouse and it could take up to 3 months to get your order. At no time couldIever speak with someone. No matter what time you called, am or pm there was always a recording. They left a message on my answering service that they reimbursed my money. After checking with my bank, this was in April 08, they said that they never credited back your account. Today, I received a class action suite from an attorney in the mail. I have bought several peices of furniture from these lying, sneaky Kelly's. They sell broken furniture. The customer service is non existent. Don't ever take them to Chelsea Court, you will lose. The Clerk must know them, it seemed obvious when she wouldn't allow me to speak. I actually lost and ended up with another piece of junk. They promise you good quality service and exchange for more junk. It was a heavy mistake on my part. I am trying to shelter you from these crooks. Google Richies Home Furniture and then read the ratings. The more people complain, the more they, yes They write a wonderful review to counter act the bad review. Don't fall into their trap. I will start off by saying the sales person Chris ( the one with the redish hair) was very nice. The sale went smooth as I expected. The following week he told me he would call me when the furniture will be shipped to my home. He advised that either 2 of the days during the week my furniture would be delivered.  To make a long story short I ended up calling and chasing him to get answers. He not once kept a simple promise he made like call backs. He ignored half my calls. I than spoke with Alex who acted like he was a hero and wanted to save the day. He also didnt produce any results and lied to me. He said on that day when I called him I would receive my furniture at 8pm that same night. It was 9:40pm and yet still no phone call. This was on a Friday. I had guests coming the following day. This is over a week waiting for my furniture. Alex nor Chris ever called to see if my furniture had arrived. I even called the store about 6 times within an hour prior to them closing (9pm closing).  As a result to thier incompetence I suffer. I have no furniture to welcome my guests to relax on. What an embarresment this is for me and my family. I can not cancel my gathering.  There was no sense of urgency from them at all. It was the worst experience I have encountered in a very long time. The owner is no where to be found. I made a mistake by not searching for reviews. They have a 1 star rating. And no surprise many were similar issues. They can not be trusted. They are worse than typical sales people. They are in for the quick sale and thats it. Dont expect them to follow up on warranty claims either. These are not those type of people. More like street hoodlums. Unprofessional and unethical organization. Wait until I tell the Arab community in Paterson and Clifton NJ. This experience I have encountered will go a very long way!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY- I truly believe any glowing reviews must be made up. This is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I ordered a dining table that was received severely damaged,  I immediately put in a damage report and followed up with a call to the company.  The Supervisor, Maria, I eventually talked to said to me What do you want me to do, do you want me to sit here and cry about your problemI had been very nice- I am never rude and I don't curse or swear. I am a trainer in the Customer Service industry, so I have full respect for customer service personnel.  However, when I explained this to Maria, stating I could not believe she had actually said that to me she followed up with So perhaps you need to come here and train us, since you know so much - ***** . I left numerous messages to Edward, the Manager/ CEO (who apparently is never there)  and he called me back once - during the time I said I was not available- and then never again. Well,  things have gone from bad to worse- the company will not take responsibility for the damaged table and even at one point suggested that I had probably damaged it myself.  They did say i could return it for a refund or exchange at my own expense, ($122)- nice huh? I have tried to be reasonable and have offered several other options - having it repaired, or receiving a partial refund but the company just shut down communications.   I guess I am out$440.00.

Farmers Home Furniture Below standard furniture, poor customer service, Douglasville Georgia
In 2006 I purchased a sofa and refrigerator from Farmer's Home Furniture. About 2 months after the purchase, sitting on the sofa was like sitting on the floor, the cushions had lost their substance. I reported this and they ordered replacement cushions, which took about three additonal months to arrive to me. The same thing happened again, and again. On the third go around I refused to accept any more cushions. Now the refrigerator, after about 6 months outside fixtures began falling off and some of the hooks that hold the inside shelves fell off. I asked them to repair this every month for over a year. They always said ok, but they never did. I refused to pay them for about 2 months to try and get their attention. They said they would replace the couch and fix the refrigerator, but they never did. Instead they put on my credit report that I was 4 months past due and threatened to sue me. Companies like this are the shame of Georgia and the US. I am reporting this in hopes that those who are considering shopping at Farmers Home Furniture will be wise and not give you hard earned money to predators like this who sell below standard products and try to destroy your credit rating if you refuse to pay for it. Toward the end of they offered me a still unacceptable solution. The items are virtually paid for, but in order to remove the negative credit entry they put, they wanted the sofa back. We ordered a sectional from Coleman Furniture with photos & diagrams labeled as RAF sectional in their webiste. Waited for 6 weeks for order to arrive. When we finally received the item, it was the wrong configuration and its missing 2 nail heads accent & 1 is damaged. We ontacted Coleman Furniture right away and told them the problem. After 4 days, someone called us back. Coleman furniture insist that we received the right configuration as stated in the confirmation but after couple of weeks I checked their webiste and they have changed the photos & diagrams with the orrect ones. After contacting BBB, they said that they will waive restocking fee but I have to pay for the shipping fee. We really want to return the furnture but they have not issued us a return authorization number unless we pay $450 shipping fee and they will deduct that from what we paid for the furniture. + we have to package the furniture ourselves, so that's additional cost to us. Why do we have to pay for something that is not our fault? If they really are concern for their customer's satisfaction, Coleman furntire should refund us in FULL, pay the shipping fee & packaging.Save yourself from headache... Do Not Order From this Company no matter how great is the deal you get!

Home Zone Furniture Furniture breaks after a month and won't replace or repair Shreveport, Louisiana
I bought my first set of furniture, a sectional, from Home Zone in July of 2010. One to two months later, the sectional recliners would not recline anymore. I had to take it back to Home zone, where they had my furniture for 2 weeks after telling me they were just going to replace it and didn't hear from them at all until I contacted Bree. She made them deliver it free after telling me I would have to pay another 109 to have it delivered. It has now been just a year and I bought a bed a little over a month ago. All 4 legs on the bed broke, so now it's sitting on the floor. I noticed a spring and the recliners not working on my sectional again and that it's tearing in the seams on one of the recliners. I purchased a 5 year warranty when I bought the first sectional and now they are telling me it's void because after 2 months with the first one, that I used it to get a replacement and it automatically voids after use. I didn't read anywhere on my warranty that this was true. It should have automatically transferred to my new one since I didn't have the sectional that long. And btw, they replaced it with the same sectional I had at first. I contacted Bree again to let her know that I wanted a complete replacement and not the same sectional I had gotten last time and thats when I was told that the warranty was void, but that if I brought it in, they would repair it or send it to Dallas where I will have no furniture again and for god knows how long. Apparently this sectional is poorly made and I don't want to keep it any longer. I want it replaced for something that may have a better chance of lasting atleast 2 years. They won't even repair the bed because I have no warranty even though I've had it for a little more than a month. They say their furniture is real wood and it's not. It's junk and I suggest no one buys it!

NO STARS....Purchased furniture from nice salesman on 2/14/16. No call and no furniture to date. Called the store last week on 3/2/16 for a status and number disconnected. Road to store in my person vehicle and the store is closed. Called the store in Sterling VA and the phone just ranged all day. Called the store later that day and the number was disconnected. Filed several fraud claims that day against the store. Found a cell phone number of the sales guy that was written on the store business card and he sounded very worried and evasive, Asking how we got his number?. He stated that he thought we got our furniture by now and that he would check with his manager at the new Sterling location. No call from him nor the store since 3/2/16. FRAUD or HORRIBLE BUSINESS CONDUCT??!!...you tell me...WAITING FOR FRAUD INVESTIGATION and the return of over 2K of hard earned money!!!!!

EZ Furniture Assembly - NYC Handyman Took my money and never heard from him again New York New York
I contacted Chris Purnell owner of EZ Furniture Assembly/NYC Handyman. I was looking to get an estimate for a kitchen makeover. His policy is to charge for estimates. I agreed to a $60 fee which would include the estimate, and a computer generated layout of my kitchen with design options etc.. He sent his project manager out, measurements were taken etc. I was to here back from Mr. Purnell within two business days with both the estimate and the layouts for my kitchen. The $60 was to go towards the job if given to Mr. Purnell. I never heard from this company or Mr. Purnell again. Numerous calls and emails went unreturned. When i sent out an email explaining that course of action i would pursue against him i magically received a phone call. He stated that he did not have me on file but that he would investigate my claim and call me in a few days. I never heard back from him except for a email that threatened me with legal action for slander if i preceded with complaining to various agencies. I have a signed receipt from him for the $60. UNIQUE FURNITURE HOME ripoff artists fraud LAGOS
After placing an order for 1000 carpets we received this ( by the way he did not even choose a design or colour 1000 carpets No colour No design!!) How do you do. my appointment with my bank management[WEMA BANK NIG.] went fine earlier on today, after much deliberation, they agreed to grant me the loan as long as I can meet there condition, although its the new procedure here in Nigeria. It is such that for one to qualify to be granted a loan in foreign exchange from the banks, to go into business of buying and importation of goods from over sea, one would be required to have at least a minimum sum of $5000usd in ones account at present, with the bank, without which the bank will not grant one a loan. I am seeking for this loan, because I recently exhausted my money on some goods I bought in Italy [high quality executive Italian leather chairs] that are due to arrive the country any moment. Aside from that, my clients for the rugs would not pay me up front unless the goods arrive in the country, hence am left to source for fund. So, if I have to run arround to a few friends and business associates for assistance, to be able to raise $5000usd, I can, but it will take me quite some time to reach them and meet up. But I dont have that much time to wait. I said before, I believe in doing business based on total trust, as long as I can trust you, I really don't see the need for me to come to Malta to inspect the goods before sealing up a deal and going ahead with the payment. I believe if I can trust you enough to do that you should equally give me you trust in return. In April of 2012, I purchased what was supposed to be two, big, beautiful Leather sectional sofas and a separate wall recliner from Ashley Furniture in Jacksonville, Florida. They were very large, wide and had electric reclining features.  Ashley Furniture was having a sale. What I selected was priced at around $9,000.00. I received it for some where in the range of $4999.00. I chose not to have it delivered for an additional $500.00, and chose to pick it up myself. When you get to their warehouse to pick up your furniture, it's wrapped nice and tight and boxed up. So of course you go through the process of checking serial numbers and product numbers before you Accept what they have sent you.  Who is really going to unbox that much furniture when they have to haul it back to their home in a trailer and get on the highway to get it home? No one , right? Well, lesson learned. You trust the people that you are doing business with will send you EXACTLY what you have purchased and not make any attempts in defrauding you because they are a big, known furniture store. WRONG AGAIN! What I received was completely different than what was on that store floor. I assume because I am a woman, and because I received such a deal supposedly, I got the bottom of the barrel set. This set looks like a fake leather jacket. The color is different, the cushions are deformed, and it's not electric. The electric part is not what upsets me. It's the entire Look of the furniture itself. It looks nothing like what I bought. I sent pictures to a woman named Sandra, who is in their Customer Care section. She agreed , even over pictures she agreed that it looked nothing like what was on that store floor. Because I did not spend the extra money to receive their delivery, they refuse to send out an inspector to investigate further. All I wanted was what I thought I was buying . Not this terrible, fake version. I have now gone as far as to hire an attorney. I have filed with the BBB in Jacksonville, Filed with the Federal Trade Commission as well. I have contacted Ashley Furniture several times and have gotten absolutely No Were with these people! Buyer Beware! They are untrustworthy and will rip you off too! I'm even thinking about contacting the local news now too- just to let other consumers know that what you think you are buying IS NOT what you are going to be  getting! ANd make sure you read what you sign. I guess because they are so untrustworthy, they have a No Return Policy etc.

Guardsman Furniture Protection Rip Off, Internet
This company is a total rip off. They will deny you service based off the smallest technicality. I have been denied coverage both times I submitted a claim. This last time the finish on my coffee table was peeling up. I didnt notice it until I wiped the table off with a rag. The rag got caught on the finish and ripped up a 5 inch long strip of wood. In the Guardsman plan it says it covers Scratches, Gouge, Chip, Cracking, Bubbling or Peeling of a finish however they said my situation was not covered because it was not a single incident. The Guardsman rep told me that I should be able to clean my table without peeling up the finish and that I did not accidentally clean my table so it was not a single incident. I cannot believe I purchased this insurance. Biggest waste of money ever!

Marlos Furniture Stores ripoff Did not home true to their warranties You pay for warranties and they do not honor them I have a house full of Marlos furniture and they send out a rep and after that you hear nothing else from them Rockville Maryland
I have called Marlos on numerous occasions about my Sofa slipcovers, when the representative came out he said that he was going to recommend that they order me four new slipcovers. This happened on two different occasions. You hear nothing after that. When I called back the first time after six or seven months of hearing nothing, they tell me the Manager is not going to honor the warranty, because of wear and tear on the furniture. I looked over the warranty, and that is exactly what they covered, wear and tear, burn holes and the like. But Marlos do not honor their warranties, after you pay for them. Stay far away from Tosh Furniture! I had the same experience as others on this site and was scammed. I ordered a couch and a patio table set. The patio set took 4 months to arrive, even after I was promised it would ship in a week. I received it just in time for winter, thanks to Tosh Furniture I had no deck furniture for the entire summer.  I ordered a gray couch from Tosh. It also was delivered 4 months late, and guess what? The couch was the wrong color. It was white. When I tried to ship it back? According to Tosh I have to pay $800 to ship it back to them. Their customer service is beyond terrible, I would wait a week for a response.  To top it off they refuse to take me off their email marketing list. Never do business with Tosh Furniture. It can't be a coincidence that the same thing is happening to all these customers, Tosh Furniture is a scam.

The Home Place Furniture - Hanks Furniture deceptive, dishonest, bad customer service Destin, Florida
My ordeal started when I went into The Home Place furniture store in Destin FL on Jan 3. I was with my husband and my best friend (who was the one shopping). We were greeted by the store manager who started off by saying today is the last day to get a discount equal to your sales tax as he walked away I told my friend how funny it was he said that as just 4 days prior I was in the store with another friend and we were told the same thing. As we looked and sat on sofas and chairs he happened back by us and she asked him if that was a sales tatic he uses on everyone and instead of simpling explaing that upper management decided to extend the sale he got defensive. Against my better judgement I let my husband purchase a sectional he just couldn't live without. You know ladies one of the ones with separate seating with cup holders...perfect sport watching seats. Due to myself and my husband being in night classes, and the stores unflexible delivery hours we had to wait til the following Saturday, Jan 10 for delivery. They did call about one hour ahead to get directions, showed up, tells me the ottoman they put on truck doesn't match sectional. They did unloaded the sectional and one of the recliners would not recline. So....I let the delivery boy flip it over reattach a cable and call it fixed. I should have made him put it back on the truck. He assured me that if it happened again they would fix or exchange. Sunday night I sit down, pull the handle, and nothing...wont recline. Monday morning I call the store to see when correct ottoman will be delivered and see what they will do about broken recliner, at which time I'm told they can schedule the repair man but he only there on Tuesdays, remember now we both have night classes Monday-Thursday, so I am very clear on he needs to be at my house and gone by 5:30pm she assures me he will be, no problem. But can come til the following week. 10 days after delivery! But they can bring a correct ottoman on Thurs Jan 15. Of course I take them at their word they will be on time and fix it so I again let it go. Thurs Jan15 comes, they show up with yet another incorrect ottoman. I wrote a note on the delivery ticket requestin this issue be resolved by the time the repair man is scheduled or I want the floor model pieces...no call from that note. Luckly I make a copy of that while the delivery driver was still here. Upone calling the store the store manager tells me I'm dealing with humans and humans make mistakes. I aksed him about the floor model and he says I can't have it cause it is used. What a joke the recliner works and the ottoman matches. He'll call the warehouse and see if they have the correct one or if they have to order one. He was going to be off for a day or two and would call me when he returned. So on Sat he calls to tell me he has no information and would let me know something on Monday...no call. Tuesday comes, the day the repair man is supposed to be coming, by 10:30am I have no call on the ottoman. I was told the repair man would call in the am to set an approx time he would be there to repair and no call on that either. I call the store to be told the repair man was bringing the ottoman and I again reminded her that he had to be there and gone by 5:30. She stated he was coming from Mobile approx 100 miles away to service the calls for the Destin/Crestview area and when he got to the store she or he would call with a better estimated time. All day...no call. I beging to prepare to leave for class and at 4:38 he calls. Says he is just leaving the store in Destin to come to Crestview...this is 50 miles away thru 3 cities of rush hour traffic...and he is going to be at my house in 30 minutes. Why does he think this...cause his gps tells him so. He isn't from this area...he lives 100 miles away and thinks he is going to get 50 miles..not on an interstate..but in city traffic..in 30 minutes. Let me assure you I drive that route 2-3 times a week and it takes all of 50-60 minutes to travel that distance in non rush hour traffic. So he gets snippy and says then I'll have to reschdule. What choice did I have..I had to go to class. I calll the store immediately, the manager is not there, the lady that scheduled this and that I had spoke to earlier in the day can only say I'm sorry. So I ask for the regional managers name and phone number and after several minutes of telling her that I'm done dealing with this at store level she gives me his info, only to find out he is out of his home store at the Mobile warehouse doing inventory and can't be reached. Now I've been told they can call the warehouse to see if furniture is there but apparently the phones only work there if you are checking the status of furniture not trying to find someone. So I left a message with the manager in the Pensacola store, his home base, and was assured he would call me Thursday morning, Jan 22. I wait til lunch...you guessed it...no call. I call Pensacola and the RM is there and tells me he didn't get the message...imagine that...another human that works for this company made a mistake. He does verify that he can have the repair man at my home the next tuesday...another week of a non working recliner and no ottoman. All this time if they had offered to do something to go out of their way to help me for being inconvienced I would have felt better. The customer service is horrible. When I tell him that is not acceptable..he tells me to call customer service. I call there and get told I can't return the deliverd broked furniture cause it has been more than 7 days. Not only that the lady that answered told me she is the only customer service person that I can speak to and doesn't matter who her supervisors name is, I can't talk to him/her. I call the home office number on the website and get told I have to call customer service or the store. So my last resort at this point...I have disupted the charge on my credit card so when it is reversed from them maybe they will be more willing to do things when it is convienent for me or better yet...come get it. Home Sweet Home Moving & Storage Failure to honor estimate, Missing Items, Broken Furniture, Delivers Belongings from Others Ripoff Silver Spring, Maryland
Company: Home Sweet Home (HSH) Moving & Storage Had a real bad experience with Home Sweet Home (HSH) Moving and Storage. The company has offices in MD, VA and DC. Issues were: 1. They sent their VP to give us an estimate. They did not honor that estimate and tried to slap on extra charges. Eventually HSH claimed that the VP was fired but the VP denies that. He said that he quit because he found out how bad customers were being treated and he did not want to be associated with HSH. 2. Moving staff were part-timers, who were really careless with our belongings. Couple of items were broken during the unloading and some items were either lost or had missing parts. 3. They would not unload our belongings unless we paid them on their terms. 4. We submitted a claims list for missing items. The claim forms said that HSH will only reimburse us by the weight ! HSH never did respond to our claims, though we had pictures of missing/broken items. 5. One major expensive item was held back by HSH. Took repeated phone calls and withholding payment before we got their attention. This dragged on for over three months. They had my phone number on their paper work; yet they claimed they had the wrong number. 6. Phone calls were not answered or returned. There is a Joe at HSH who makes promises, always had excuses to cut phone calls short (eg. meeting), and never keeps promises (ex. will return your item Monday, but nothing shows up). When Joe recognised my phone number, he did not even pick up my calls. Another person at the office named Robert is just as bad. 7. There is an admin at the HSH office who sounded nice but will not help resolve problems. Very good at giving you the runaround. Since she probably works with Joe, obviously she is not on the customer's side. 8. HSH ignored calls/contacts from both Virginia and Maryland Consumer Affairs Offices; letters from lawyers were also ignored. 9. Almost had to take HSH to court. 10. HSH delivered someone's belongings to us ! These include an electric lawn mower, Christmas decor items, and a box of LP records. We gave them back to the unloaders. HSH was recommended by the office staff at the apartment complex we stayed at during the move. I made the bad mistake of trusting that recommendation. When all was said and done, I checked the web and found that there is at least one court case in Montgomery County, MD, against HSH. Hind sight is always 20-20. I now know not to just trust someone's recommendations. Please leave out my email ID. My goal with this email is to make sure that others will not have the grief I went through. Thanks.
