geico GEICO GEICO SUCKS Internet, Internet
Sucks..... GEICO-You still have the wrong vehicle on my claim. This will result in an incorrect car fax report for my other vehicle.  Your managers don't care about your policy holders, only about how good they look to their bosses! If you cared about your loyal customers, you wouldn't have to have a complaint site to get things done! Policy holders are just numbers to you!

Geico Never buy Geico insurance! Springfield Missouri
NEVER BUY GEICO INSURANCE! Last year my car (98 Ford Coutour) was hit by a driver who had Geico insurance. What a nightmare! I had the car towed to a body shop. The Geico adjuster asked me to take it to a ma and pa shop because he thought $60 per hour was too much to pay. After a lot of arguing, I flat refused. The car was repaired. When I went to take it for a test drive, it made quite a racket. I brought it back into the shop. The shop foreman said Geico would only authorize SALVAGE YARD PARTS for the car and they were defective. Also, the bumper that was damaged in the accident was not repaired. They had to order parts from another SALVAGE YARD. The parts were put in and still my bumper was not repaired. I came by to pick it up and the car pulled badly to the right. To let go of the steering wheel, it would almost throw you in the ditch. I brought it back. The shop foreman said it needed an alignment and the Geico adjuster refused to authorize it. I spoke with the adjuster which was probably the 5th time by now and he finally agreed to the alignment. When I asked about the bumper, he said the body shop charged too much. I told him to find one that would fix it and he refused. He told me to take $125 for the bumper and forget about it. That's just stupid! The alignment was done. I called the corporate office 3 different times and complained. Each time they sent me back to the adjuster who was a real jerk. The bumper was never fixed, I took the $125 because he simply wore me out. The moral to the story - NEVER BUY GEICO INSURANCE AND I HOPE YOU NEVER GET IN AN ACCIDENT BY A GEICO DRIVER! Geico Geico Insurance Gangadhararao Gutta Internet
Hey, I have Auto Insurance covered with my employer with Geico Insurance , and  recently from my project place to my employer place went for for a visit and rented a car , rental company person called Geico insurance to find out about validity of Insurance and they informed the rental company person i am covered with auto insurance , then rental company did not insist on insurance coverage and I also felt that it is not required as it is covered already by my employer. Because Previously also my employeres used to have my insurance covered with different other insurance companies and I never used to bother about taking separate insurance while renting a vehicle. During the rental period , i met with an accident and  damages are claimed and i forwarded the the same claim to Geico. Now Geico Insurance says it is not covered for rental or other vehicles as my business insurance does not cover other than vehicles listed in the policy. They are not settling the damages or losses in the accident. Can some one help me come out of this damages/loss  occurred Thanks Gangadhar raoguttag@gmail.com

GEICO Insurance GEICO Quote bait and switch Dallas TEXAS
I went online to get a GEICO quote after they kept sending me junk mail about how I could save up to $500/yr on auto insurance. I completed the online form and received a quote of $653 for 6 months which was cheaper than my current insurance by $180/year. When I went to the screeen to purchase it showed a price of $676. I called GEICO to why the increase. I was told that the $676 was not correct either and that the premium would actually be $820. It was explained that my address was in a county that was more expensive than neighboring counties. The thing is, my address did not change from when the internet quoted me and when I talked to a rep. I was told that had I purchased the insurance online I would have been sent an invoice for the additional $144. WHAT A SCAM. The quote was not even correct and I would not have known it until after buying the policy. I kept my current insurer since they were only $743 A anytown, TennesseeU.S.A.

Geico Insurance Geico lies cheats and steals Dallas Texas
I have had geico for quite some time. Recently I received a cancellation notice. Said payment due on Nov 19. I called in and had my employer call stating I could not make a payment until the 29th at the latest. The representative said that would be fine the policy would not cancel they would extend it. The night before Thanksgiving we were traveling to Dallas and hit a wild bore which tore up the front of our vehicle. I contacted Geico and they said my policy was cancelled due to non payment. I told them I had called in and explained about the payment. They basically called me and my employer liars. This company is nothing but about the bottom line. Buyer beware!!! GEICO Insurance GEICO Washington District of Columbia
Please do yourself a favor and find insurance from a company other than GEICO. They are great at quoting lower prices on their Web site. Then their underwriters find a reason to increase the coverage at a later date and not send you a notice that they raised your rates. They raised my rates twice, the second without notifying me or giving me a chance to cancel the coverage. I only learned that they raised my rates after I cancelled my coverage at the end of the coverage term. Then I got differing versions of why they charged me an overage. I tried to contact the company via mail and they never responded, just sent me to collection. I have reported GEICO to the Florida Insurance Commission. I will tell everyone I know to not do business with this company. Kerry fort myers, FloridaU.S.A.

Geico Insurance Geico Rip off Internet
Geico's client lost control of his SUV on an icy road when the light turned red and he hit his brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of him. His SUV jumped over the median and landed on top my pregnant wife's hood. Wife was very shaken and had a bruise on her knee. We called State Farm and they stated they could process our claim minus our deductible. They said that Geico already was ahead of them slightly in processing and there would be no deductible if we made our claim through Geico. We went with Geico since it was no cost to us and they seem to have a head start on it. Took a week to get connected with the adjustor (Dennis Franks). Took 2 weeks to before he was able to get all the processing completed and come over to our house to write us a check for $4,700. We were shocked at this low amount as our car was PAID OFF and in great documented condition! We told him that the cheapest similiar replacement for the vehicle was $5,000 before sales tax, etc. He said the car was selling for $4,400 but yet he could not show us how the number was calculated. We told him we will be content with $5,000. He stated that he will need to talk to his supervisor. He then left and we had to hunt him back down almost 2 weeks later to find out what his supervisor said. Dennis told us that his supervisor will not honor our request. We then paid State Farm our deductible and State Farm offered us a settlement of $5,700! We are now currently fighting with Geico to get reimbursed for $300 in storage costs of the car when it was in their possession during their claim processing.

Geico Indemnity Co Geico Insuance Doubled Insurance Premium, Internet
Premium for my motorcycle insurance more than doubled this spring. Alarmed, I spent 30 minutes on phone waiting for customer service at Geico to pick up - finally got a person to talk to - they informed me that my wife had two accidents and that is why they doubled the motorcycle policy. When I explained my wife was driving her car and was hit in the rear both times while at red lights (she was not at fault) and that this should not have an effect on my policy, I was put on hold for 15 more minutes and then disconnected by Geico. The customer service rep did not have the courtesy to call me back. Canceled policy and went with (((competitor's name redacted))) at the Geico price. sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. GEICO GEICO - High Risk Nonsense ripoff New Orleans Louisiana
In January 2007 I was involved in an accident in Louisiana. My car was side swiped on the right side when a car located to the right hand side of me veered over to the left. I called out a police officer to report the incident. When the officer arrived on the scene, he was quick to point out, from my license plate, that I was not from Louisiana. He also knew the girl that had hit me. The officer did not take a statement from me or from my father that was in the car with me. However, no ticket was issued. Fault could not be determined at time, according to the officer. I quickly reported the incident to Geico. The representative that assisted me was very understanding. I spoke to her regarding the officers conduct. She advised me to take action against the police officer for the inappropriate way he handled the accident. Two weeks later when the report became available, I picked it up. The report had a lot of erroneous information. A lot of the facts pertaining to the accident were incorrect. For example, wrong addresses, wrong description, etc. However, the best part was that the office was now claiming that I was at fault. Once again I spoke to the claim representative at Geico. She advised me to sit down with the police officers boss and explain the situation. In taking her advice, I did just that; however, it did not prove to be helpful at all. All good advice from Geico and up to this point I had been satisfied. Here is where the unsatisfaction and confusion comes in to play. Geico had me go to a local claims adjuster. He took pictures of my car and totaled up the value of the claim. I was given a check in a matter of minutes. Great! The pictures of the damage were then sent to another claims adjuster that would look at the pictures to determine fault. About two months later, I receive a call from another claims adjuster for Geico. He indicated that Geico did not find me at fault and that they would be going after AllState for the full amount of my deductible. One month later, another call from the same claims adjuster. He indicated that the Louisiana arbitrating judge ruled that I was 80% at fault and the lady that hit me was 20% at fault and that I would be getting part of my deductible back. The following month I received a renewal policy in the mail from Geico stating that a surcharge had been added to my account. After calling Geico to question the surcharge, I was told that I was now labeled a high-risk customer. All of the discounts on my account had been dropped and the additional surcharge had been added. The customer service representative told me that Geico had put a special note on my account that I was at fault for this accident. Nothing was noted regarding Geico not finding me at fault or the 80/20% ruling. After calling and leaving a couple of messages for the claims adjuster he finally called me back. He stated to me that once Geico pays a claim and/or an arbitrating judge finds a person at fault their underwriters automatically label the customer as high-risk. It does not matter if Geico did not find the individual at fault. Further if a claim is made against Geico, Geico will either list a customer as high-risk and there was nothing I could do. So now I must live with high rates for the next three years. Nice, I wish I would have know this about Geico before I got their low price insurance. I have spoken to several ex-Geico insurance customers and they have all been very disgruntled with Geico. Make a claim, get in an accident at no fault to you, and you risk being dropped or being label high-risk at an additional surcharge. This was my first accident in all of my driving life (in my 30s) and my first claim. My advise, dont get Geico Insurance! Mary New Orleans, LouisianaU.S.A. Geico Insurance Online Ripoff Geico Ripoff Deceptive Scottsdale Internet
So I went online on Geico's site and locked my rate at $421. I even called them to confirm that the price was correct. So far, so good. A few days later, I received my premium in the mail for $840. What?! I immediately got on the phone with them and they explained to me that that they had entered in the wrong address zone when they gave me the quote.. TWICE. So they went ahead and took the liberty of doubling my premium for me without notification. I canceled immediately. This isn't just wrong, its flat out unethical. Frankd747 Scottsdale, ArizonaU.S.A.

Geico Geico always finds a way not to pay claims Internet
I witnessed 3 incidents during the last couple of months where Geico found a way not to pay insurance claims. My wife who was fully insured with Geico was involved in an accident using a friend's car whose car was also insured by Geico. When the friend called Geico after the accident they told him that there was lapse in his insurance because they sent mail to his previous address in MD and he never responded. They then denied my wife's claim because the friends car was parked in our driveway for several months (the friend moved to NC but has not settled yet with his family so he was staying with us). Meanwhile one of my sons, who sold his motorcycle which was insured with Geico and bought a car to replace it after calling Geico to switch insurance, the car hit another vehicle in the parking lot (my son's responsibility) but when he called Geico they denied that the car was insured with them. So he ended up fixing the other car from his own pocket and switched to another insurance company.

GEICO Geico does NOT honor their Auto INsurance Quotes, Internet
I am flat-out disgusted with Geico! 10 days ago, I purchased an auto insurance policy from them at a set rate, which quite honestly, was not all that competitive. I did just as well with quotes from All-State, Century 21, and Progressive. However, I chose Geico because a few of my family members use them and I thought they treated their customers well. Wow, was I wrong!! After this policy was quoted to me, I proceeded to pay the down payment. They accepted payment and that being said, I expected they would stand by the price quoted. Again, I was wrong. An agent called me 9 days later stating that I would have to pay $1,000 more per year!!! When I asked why, the excuse was absolutely absurd. She claimed this was due to the fact that I have not had car insurance for the past 3 years. However, I have not had a vehicle for the past 3 years. Why would I need to have insurance if I did not have a vehicle? It gets worse, I was then accused by the agent of driving my fiances car while being uninsured. I truly did not appreciate this interrogation; they are a car insurance company not the police. They continued with their accusations, saying they found it hard to believe that I have been licensed for the past 3 years, but haven't been driving. What am I supposed to do; surrender my driver's license to the DMV and have no form of identification? Not that its any of their business, but I worked in an urban area and was able to take public transportation to and from work. I recently got a new job and had a child so circumstances have changed. I guess well, normal life changes mean nothing to this company. I honestly do not see how in the world this company supposedly has a 97% satisfaction rate or how theyre the best in nation. Their agents were rude, sarcastic, condescending, and their rates are not competitive at all. Anyway, due to all of this, I cancelled my 9-day policy with them. When I called to cancel, the agent had the audacity to ask me if Id consider staying if she could save me some money. I told her that unless she can save me $1,000 per year, I am not interested. Of course, she couldnt. Its so funny how 6 other insurance companies were able to quote me anywhere from $600-900 less than Geico and said the fact that I havent been driving for the past 3 years does not affect my rates or will have minimal effect on them. Some of the agents from the other companies even laughed when I told them Geico was going to charge me an extra $1000 for this. One agent said, Wow, you would think they found a few speeding tickets on your record. Let me just add, I am a 31-year-old female with no tickets, violations, points..I have a perfect driving record! I live in a small suburb, drive a safe mid-sized sedan with a passive alarm, drive only a few miles to work and back, have a college degree, average credit, and my car is parked in a garage at night. Geico's agent claimed that not having a car for the past 3 years made me go from an excellent driver to an average driver and a low-risk driver to moderate-risk driver. Average?? Moderate-risk?? Like I said...never had so much as a parking ticket and own a very safe vehicle that I only drive a few miles per day. Not one other insurance agent quoted me as an average driver; I was named as an excellent, low-risk driver by every other company I received a quote from. One agent I spoke with said they should be basing the quote on total years driving; not the fact that I did not have a vehicle for the past few years. Even if you were to knock 3 years off of my driving time, that STILL gives me 11 years of experience on the road and would make me a 28-year-old female as opposed to a 31-year-old female, which still makes me a LOW RISK driver. Also, I find it rather suspicious that their agents noticed this 9 days after I purchased the policy AND paid for it. Furthermore, I never agreed to the new rate, yet they made it effective on their website and intended to bill me for it, yet I never signed anything or even consented verbally. I also have yet to receive my money back from them!!! I had to purchase another policy and they still have the money I paid for theirs. They keep assuring me that the refund is coming, but I have yet to see anything! Overall, I think what Geico did is disgraceful. 15 minutes cannot save me 15% or more. It can cost me 50% more money and 100% more aggravation. I switched to a company who I know is one of their largest competitors; THEIR agent did EVERYTHING she could to save me well over 15%. Cannot say the same for any of Geicos' agents. All I got was a lot of, Theres nothing I can do responses. Way to go Geico!

Geico Geico took my money North Carolina Nationwide
I am so angry with Geico insurance and the state of North Carolina right now, here's what happened to me. I did a routine review of my auto insurance rates recently and discovered that I could save over $1000 per year by switching to Safeco. I immediately signed up and contacted Geico to cancel my existing policy.Much to my surprise I was given mis-information by the first clerk that I spoke to. I was told to mail in my request to cancel, which I didn't need to do as stated by a second clerk a week later. The second clerk told me that all I needed to do was submit my request on their site and all would be ok. She also gave me my refund amount of $218.88.When the actual refund came it amounted to only $89.49. I immediately called Geico to find out why the refund was so low. I was informed that the state of North Carolina allows them to take what's call a Short Rate Premium for early cancellations as well as a .431 percentage of your actual refund. Here are my numbers: Total Amount of six month premium=$958.49 x 61% (Short Rate Premium)= $548.68 Subtract that amount from the amount actually paid: 803.48-548.68= 218.88 the actual amount of gross refund. But wait here's the kicker Geico takes another .431 (That's over 43%) from my refund as an additional penalty which amounts to $94.28. My net refund according to Geico is only $124.60. What a rip off and I plan to tell every one I know! What's even worse is that North Carolina is the only state in the Union that allows this, some politician must have some serious investments in Geico. Cheaters, liars, thieves!

Geico insurance keeps telling my home lender they cannot get into our property to inspect  our property for homeowner insurance. They say it is a gated community. Wrong! I live out the the coutryside, there are no gated communities anywhere closeby! The insurance company we go through geico (Geico is a broker) cancels our insurance saying they cannot inspect it! They can drive up any time, no gate or fences we are in the middle of Oregon, just a long dirt driveway with our name a sign on the little road in front (there is a town museum across the street). Everytime I tell them to call and talk to us, the insurance company just say they cannot let me talk to the people who are supposedly coming and will not tell me when they are coming, but they are suppsoe to call before they come here! This circus has been going on for several months! Gecio is incompetent, rude, nasty and a huge PIA ! I gave them enough chances! Total incompetence!

Geico Geico InsuranceGeico Auto Insurance Liers, Rude, Outright disrespectful
This ripoff is pertaining to a claim handled by Geico, involving an automibile accident, Geico was the insurer for Unit 1. Unit 1 was listed on the accident report Section E - Human Factors, [this specifies the human factors that was involved with the accident] code 08 - Failed to yeild right of way; code 14 Innattention.  Unit was listed on the accident Section E, Code 99 None detected. What actually happend coinsides with the Official Accident Report Gieco's insured driver was not paying attention, ran a red light, and I inavoidably struck their car, due to the fact I was doing the speed lime (45 MPH) and had no where I could swerve off to because their were other vehicles in the turn lane, I had no way to avoid this accident. After several months of dealing with the rudeness of the Geico reps, and their extremely rude lawer, because there was a hearing on this, it was determined that this accident was of no fault. I fail to understand where there is no falt when the driver of Unit 1 admitted to running a red lignt, even admitted to not paying attention; because this driver was having a discussion with three other occupants in their vehicle.Bottom line Geico Insurance Company lied and failed to any proof that I could have avoided this accident therefore stuck me with an accident on my driving record, costing me the deductible to repair my vehicle that was undriveable.  At this time I would not recommend Geico to anybody because they do not stand up to their advertising.

Geico It's a waiting game - Geico tampa Nationwide
I got into a car accident on 1/6/17. On 1/9/17 Geico called me to do my phone interview about the accident. Once the interview was complete I was asked if I had any other questions at which point I mentioned that they had the wrong year for my car. My car is a 2011 Camry not a 2010 Camry...so she did some digging and we found out they had my mom’s cars VIN (the 2010 Camry) listed on the policy, not mine (clerical error). We corrected the information I asked is this going to affect my coverage in any way and I was told no. Later that afternoon they called me saying the claim is on hold because they have to do an investigation into the difference in VIN numbers and it could take up to two weeks. In the meantime, they determine my car is totaled. So I have no car, can't even pay for it myself to be fixed. Since they are doing their “investigation”, I am not even covered to get a rental car. I called about a week ago to check on the status and see if I could help by providing documentation from my mom’s insurance company that her car was in fact insured (by State Farm) at the time of my accident, she told me “no, every company has their own process in these matters and we have to follow our process”. We are talking about a clerical error. I mentioned that point to the Geico rep at one point and she said think if someone made a health insurance claim and had the wrong social, it would hold up the claims process and may just be denied. Little does she know I work for a healthcare provider and work with health insurance companies all day, every day. If someone member ID or social was incorrect it would simply be corrected and everything could then move forward in being processed, it certainly would not result in a denial of the claim. It has been 17 days and still no word. I called this morning and was told No news at this time. It's a waiting game. Geico does not seem to care that I am left in the lurch every single day to figure out transportation for my 1-year-old to go to day care and how I have to get to work. I am left in the waiting game without knowing what kind of car I can afford because their investigation is taking several weeks. The difference in coverage in the two cars is less than $5 over a 6-month period. THAT'S LESS THAN $1 A MONTH! They were paid 6 months in advance for the cars coverage. I am incredibly disappointed in Geico’s service at this point. It certainly does not take two weeks to tell someone if they will get a check from their own insurance company or not. I believe they are trying to make sure it isn’t any kind of attempt of fraud. How can it be fraud when I pointed the mistake out and the VIN number they had was for a car in a DIFFERENT STATE that was in fact insured at the time of the accident. Now, I have no choice but to keep playing “the waiting game”.

At 3:30 am she passed-out at the wheel and rear-ended me at over 100 mph. The 2001 nissan altime that I had bought 5 weeks earlier was a total loss So the geico machine cranks-up the steam roller. I go thru the first adjuster quickly (he was very pleasant) but he could not authorize the payment for my car. So he sends the case to macon ga. The new adjuster says I should be happy that I'm only going to lose $2100. That I will be free of the monthly payment. Odd that the actual value of the car was $2500 more than she claims. So we talk (argue) for a week, then no word for a few days, my note comes due and like a responsible person , I pay it. SAME DAY I get a call from her (at 4:45 pm) saying I know youre still paying the note on the car. Wouldnt it be better to take my offer and be free of the note? I refused. She came up $800 and I yet refused. I now have the car in my front yard with GEICO DOES NOT PAY written ont the windows. I am also fixen to take out half page ads in every news-paper that I can afford and tell the tale. If a man twice my size had spoke to me in the same manner I would have to do my best to help him spit teeth. WHY SHOULD I LOSE $2 GRAND OVER A DRUNK DRIVER ? Jerry picayune, MississippiU.S.A.

Geico ripoff Fredricksburg Virginia
I wrecked my car and it was towed to a storage yard. Insurance adjuster went to storage and had my vehicle moved to a salvage yard without my permission with all my personal items still in it. All my items were stolen and Geico refused to pay for any of it. They just rip people off because they can. They could afford to pay us more if they didn't have that little lizard on the tv all the time. Dee Etown, North CarolinaU.S.A.

GEICO ripoff Woodbury New York
Listen UP! The truth of the matter is, GEICO is the biggest user of Credit out of the BIG 5 Insurance companies..... They use it for up to 35% of thier underwriting criteria in most states that they run credit in....... they also run credit hits w/out permission in a lot of cases through transunion***Its a shame that credit is used to determine a rate even for the most responsible drivers but alas' thats what GEICO is helping to make a reality... The company also will hold against you any occurance information you give them for a quote even if it turns out not to show up on your reports when they are ran!!!.....there is more but these are two things to be leary of when shopping with them, at least Progresive is up front with thier credit checks before you give any information.... GEICO Insurance thinks we can't do SIMPLE MATH!!!!!
After being saturated with the multiple GEICO advertisements (both on TV and in our mailbox), my husband and I thought, Hey, why not make that 15 minute call that could save us as much as 40% on our automobile insurance? DONT WASTE YOUR BREATH!!!!!!! My husband spent much longer than 15 minutes on the phone with a GEICO representative going over all the details. Currently we spend approximately $1300 a year on our insurance for our two vehicles. For the SAME, EXACT coverage GEICO quoted my husband a price of about $800. My husband repeatedly asked the representative if this coverage was for a year. And repeatedly he was assured that it was coverage for a year. Being a CAUTIOUS and EDUCATED consumer, my husband said he wanted to think about it and would call them back in a few days. He called back and went over each and every item on our State Farm coverage so we would have the same coverage with GEICO. Again he was quoted a little over $800 for a year's coverage. That was a $500 savings. Sign us up!!!! Thank goodness we didn't cancel our coverage with State Farm. . . we were in the reinstatement phase! When we received our policy from GEICO. . . guess what? The $800 was for a 6 month premium!!!!! Not for a year! So, we would be paying $1600 a year for GEICO. Do they think we are that stupid? Upon opening that policy, my husband immediately called, only to be told that he must have misunderstood the quote. I won't write what he told GEICO, but after a few phone calls, we received our money back. . . short $30 for the coverage of a few days they claim we had. We have since written to them providing th

GEICO Direct
Geico failed to file the forms required by the state of South Carolina and my license was suspended. I notified Geico three different times regarding this particular situation and they did not submit the form that the state sent them. I had never had a laps in my coverage, so there was no reason for them not to fill out the form confirming my coverage at the time of an auto accident in November of 1999. I have since cancelled my policy with Geico, but they have yet to send the form to have the suspension on my license lifted. I contacted Geico by phone, mail, fax and internet. I need something to be done about this or I will not be able to get the suspension lifted. When I contacted them today, the people said that they had no record of me sending any correspondence to them either from mail, phone, fax or internet. I also received a letter from Geico dated July 19, 2000 stating that my license had been suspended and that they could not continue coverage of my vehicle until the suspension was lifted. I cancelled my policy on July 3, 2000. I was also not aware that Geico had not filled out the third form I had sent them in February 2000, regarding them confirming my coverage in November of 1999. So, I was also not aware that my license was suspended. I contacted the S.C. Department of Public Safety and they said it was because they had never received the form from my insurance company that they had requested that would confirm my coverage as of the accident. I have tried since November of 1999, and now I have done all I can do. It was up to Geico to fill out the form, and they did not do it. I mailed them the original form, I faxed two copies to them and now I have had it. What am I supposed to do in order to get this situation fixed.

Geico rip-off deceptive company Sarasota Florida
When I called Geico for a quote on bare minimum coverage for my state I was given one and proceeded to purchase over the phone. When I received my policy in the mail there was a revised dollar amount of $100.00 more give or take a few dollars. When I inquired as to the difference they justified the difference by informing that although bodily injury wasn't required by law that it would be in my best interest to have it in case of an accident regardless of who would be at fault I would risk getting my license suspended if at the time of the accident I didn't carry bodily injury. After this information I didn't negate the coverage and they kept the dollar amount difference. Some time later a woman crashed her car into mine knocking me into incoming traffic and a result my car sustained substantial damage, however, Geico proceeded to pay for this woman's damage as well. I was outraged! They received a police report stating the witness' account showing her to be at fault. I asked what the reason behind their logic was and the agent proceeded to tell me that because I had no bodily injury coverage that they paid so as not to draw a red flag and risk me having my license suspended. My first response was of course I have bodily injury and explained their conversation of record regarding justification for the increase in the policy amount. He said that that wasn't his department and that this was a decision based on his discretion for the circumstances. Of course upon inquiry of who to speak to so this could be remedied turned into a game of phone tag and a lot of the passing the buck mentality. Now because of this payment for this woman's car damages my rates have skyrocketed and there is not a da*n thing I can do about it except let others know. Judith Sarasota, FloridaU.S.A.
