Priceline Priceline bait & switch Atlanta Georgia
I booked a trip through Priceline.com today and I don't know why I even bother with this company anymore. They are masters at the bait and swtich and this has happened on more than one occasion. For the reservation I booked in December, we just booked the hotel for this trip. We asked for a 3 star hotel and our bid was accepted. The problem is the hotel they booked as at is not a 3 star hotel; it is a 1 star hotel and that is being generous. On their site, it reads a 3 star hotel as a Marriott, Hilton, or Hyatt. I can tell you this particular hotel is outdated, and dirty, and the reviews online get a 1 star rating from actual guests. Their customer service department at Priceline is a complete and utter joke. They should seriously reconsider re-naming that dept. if they are going to treat their customers the way they do. The other story I have about Priceline is great. I booked a trip at a 2 star budget hotel in Lombard, IL We traveled all day and arrived at about midnight. When we got to the hotel, they were full. No kidding. We had a reservation but the hotel was booked and when we arrived the front door was locked. The cleaning woman finally answered the door after 20 minutes of buzzing the front window. The woman didn't speak any English. She told me they were full and that I would have to go to their sister property 22 MILES AWAY!!! Imagine being in a strange town with a reservation, only to have the hotel tell you they are full and you have to go another 30 minutes down the road @ midnight. I tried calling Priceline to get this resolved at the time. I emailed them and called them and nobody bothered to call back. This is one of the worst companies I have ever had the dis-pleasure of dealing with. To make matters worse, the exact same thing happened about a month later. Different city, same hotel chain, and same response from Priceline. I can safely say that I will NEVER use them again. Midas86 Atlanta, GeorgiaU.S.A.

Priceline Priceline the rip off negotiator! Internet
My husband and I had been planning a trip to Las Vegas for a few weeks now. We already booked flights and were keeping an eye out for good hotel deals.  We eventually decided to try the name your own price option on the priceline website. Keep in mind we had a pretty good idea of the prices that were out there and it was nearly time for us to decide and book a room. Enter priceline. We pretty much knew what kind of hotel we wanted to stay at. So in the Name Your Own Price we bid a higher price to try to avoid some of the cheaper, smaller, and frankly crappier hotels. We understood and agreed to the the non refundable - non exchangeable stipulation because we figured we knew the prices and we had nothing to lose but getting us a better deal.  Our bid was accepted. But with one huge problem. The hotel priceline booked us was actually 30% cheaper if we hadn't used priceline's Name Your Own Price option at all. Their new slogan should be Raise Your Own Price.  So in short the hotels that we were trying to opt out of by exceeding their prices is the exact hotel priceline stuck us into. At a nonrefundable/ exchangeable price.  So I called priceline and they admitted that there had been an error on their end, due to their own prices being cheaper and their Lowest Price Guarantee promise.  They proceeded to refund me the difference in price. The only problem now is that I am stuck at a hotel that i tried to avoid by over biding even their highest priced rooms.  They were unwilling to even attempt to put me in a nicer more expensive hotel for even more money. So far I am waiting to hear from the dispute that i filed with my bank. Thanks priceline for trying to ruin my vacation!

Priceline Priceline is a BIG BULLY Internet
Priceline, Name Your Own Price option I used  to book at hotel for a getaway weekend.   I was searching for a hotel on the beach, so I choose box # 3 Clearwater Beach and box #10 St. Pete-Treasure Island from the map on their web site of the Clearwater Beach, FL area. I ended up with a hotel in the Clearwater-St. Petersburg North area, which is box # 2.-NO WHERE CLOSE TO THE BEACH!   After spending about 20 minutes with two different Priceline Representatives (Fridz & Zara from priceline 1-888-657-9168 phone number), I feel that Priceline played a huge bait and switch with me. Not only did they book a room for me that wasn't in the area I chose, I don't feel that this particular Holiday Inn Select is 3 star + hotel! The hotel was right next to an airport runway with planes taking off and landing all night! 13 miles to the closest beach! Have had 4-5 emails form the Priceline Executive Offices that basically stated sorry but their is nothing that priceline can do!

Priceline Priceline practices are deceitful Internet
I booked a cruise with Priceline and on it's site they have 4 bonus items which I called them to discuss what I would be receiving.  I was told that I wouldn't be getting any of them because the cruise far I chose was too good a price and that I would not be receiving any bonus.  I swear that is what the Representative said to me.  I asked why I was being penalized and she said if I had booked a more expensive cabin like a balcony or suite then I would probably get something in return but she didn't say what that would be.  I told her that Priceline was lying and using bait/switch tactics and she just kept saying she was sorry that she couldn't help me.  Don't use Priceline for anything....just book your trips or cruises through the actual businesses.

Priceline priceline scam Internet
Priceline triple charged me for one reservation.  As we were making the reservation, we got a server error message from Priceline stating Houston, we have a problem... we waited a few minutes with nothing happening.  We repeated the process just to get the same error.  We figured three times the charm... it worked.  So we figured all is well and on our way. However, I got 3 email confirmation emails a few minutes later - meaning 3 reservations.  I called Priceline immediately to inform them of the issue.  They said they would take it under consideration.  I also called the hotel to let them know not to hold the 2 additional rooms.  They were gracious. So, weeks later, Priceline refuses to refund my money and tells me I can only dispute it with my American Express, which I am doing. Just sad when Priceline's business practices are lower than dirt.  Beside I have a hard time communicating with any of them as the company is based in India or somewhere where English is not the main language, but they never responded about the issue - avoiding the problem of their servers. I guess a lawsuit is next just to make them spend money.  Avoid this company - use Kxxxx or Hxxxxxx! Priceline Priceline Reservation Ignored: turned away from Hotel. Priceline refused refund. Internet
Made reservations for a non-smoking room outside Charleston through Priceline.  Showed up to the hotel, only to be turned away: no vacancy.  Although we were guaranteed late check-in, the hotel didn't hesitate to give our room away, just in case we turned out to be a no-show. The area was completely booked, and we had to drive almost an hour to find a hotel with vacancy on this holiday weekend. When we called priceline for a refund, they immediately and unceremoniously refused, much in the style of a predatory bank.  It was clear from the tone and responses that refunds were not even considered.  The representative hastily sped through a few terms and conditions, none of which related or applied to the current situation, calling us no-shows, and ignoring our repeated protests that the hotel literally turned us away at the door, refusing to honor our reservation. We eventually had to contest the charge throuzgh Amex - thank God we didn't use another payment method.  It is clear that Priceline is simply trying to squeeze every dime out of its transactions, and has no  business sense nor value for integrity/customer service. They didn't have to pay the hotel, so they didn't have any costs to cover.  All they did was lose a repeat customer who travels for a living.  And, hopefully, this experience has saved some of you a hassle, as well.

Priceline Priceline: Unscrupulous, Unethical, Dishonest and Apathetic Internet, Internet
This was the worst experience I have ever had with renting a car. It was not made clear on Pricelines website that the company that accepted my offer (Alamo) did not take debit cards. I PAID for the car, but when I got to the counter to pick up my car THAT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR I was informed that I couldn't do it because Alamo does not take debit cards (this should be explained BEFORE a person pays for the car so they have the option to decline).   I was told by a Priceline customer service representative on that day that I could not get my money back until AFTER the LAST DAY of the rental (that never happened) and then it would be SEVEN DAYS AFTER that (totaling an ENTIRE MONTH).   The manager of Alamo talked to a Priceline representative on the phone after I did (that same day) and the representative told him that they would give me my refund by COB of that business day. He (the manager) gave me the cancellation number that the Priceline representative gave him. However, so far no refund. Guess Priceline's word isn't so valid. This was a terrible, terrible experience because I should have received my refund IMMEDIATELY because 1) it was promised to me by a Priceline customer service representative (with a cancellation number)  2) because Priceline's website did not disclose that Alamo does not accept debit cards and give me an option to decline the transaction.  I also must note here that the so called customer service representatives (I use the term loosely) are very unprofessional, rude and not helpful at all. They refuse to put you through to any management so you have no way to get any assistance beyond the brain dead zombie reading a standard script and unable to construct a single independent thought. Let this be a warning. Don't go with Priceline! I left the counter and went straight to Budget with my Priceline deal because I had to do something. They gave me a great deal, almost matching the Priceline one right there on the spot. Don't waste your time with Priceline, just go directly to the company, send them the Priceline info (BEFORE you pay, just use the deals they show you on the first page) and strike your own deal. Usually, when you can show other establishments' advertised prices, they will honor them to get your business. This Priceline scam made me a lot savvier and a LOT smarter!

priceline, priceline.com Priceline refuses to honor their Big Deal Guarantee Internet, Internet
I have made a booking via name your own price on Priceline. The price I bid was $95 for a 3 star hotel in Miami, when I received the email with the hotel I checked the average rate at the hotel was $91.23 at their website and submitted the claim. They said that would not refund because of the taxes values being different from the hotel website to Priceline. I loooked at the big deal guarantee terms and per the terms the taxes and fees are not considered when requesting the claim. So I wrote again, this time to receive a message that no matter what, my booking was non cancellable and non refundable, and no mention of the big deal guarantee.

Priceline Priceline gives info in direct conflict with television advertising , Internet
We recently met friends in St. Petersburg FL for lunch and ended up staying much longer than we anticipated.  Because we had a three hour drive home, we decided to book a local hotel instead. I contacted Priceline online and saw that a hotel right down the street from where we were eating (The Renaissance Vinoy Resort Hotel) had a 'best price' of $112 per night.  But when I clicked on the Priceline's Vinoy link, all that showed up were rooms from $269 and up. So I contacted Priceline via phone to see what was going on.  The person I spoke to gave me a ridiculous price and explained that the closer to the booking date, the higher the price.  Now, I think Big Deal would have a problem with that explanation, since he says unused rooms lose a hotel money and even a low rate is better than no revenue at all. So we called a La Quinta Hotel directly rather than go through Priceline and got a great room a few miles away. In the past year I have gotten out of the habit of using Priceline because they are never reasonable in their bid acceptance and then make the customer wait 24 hours before rebidding. I don't have time for that foolishness...wise up, Priceline...we are all going elsewhere because of the lack of customer service, bad info, and idiotic bidding policies.

PRICELINE PRICELINE - REFUND SCAM LOS ANGELES, Internet
I used Priceline to book a flight. After entering the information and confirming it- they sent me an incorrect return date. I immediately cancelled the reservation and i was sent a confirmation of the cancellation with a confirmation code the next day. When i received my credit card statement they had charged me almost $1000. I called their customer service and was kept on the phone for 45 minutes while they researched it. They then told me I never cancelled the reservation. I asked then, so why do I have an email from you with a cancellation code? They had no answer. I told them I would forward the email to them so they could see it but they were quick to inform me that they couldn't receive emails at customer service. They said I would have to prove I cancelled it some other way. After wasting my time, I just called my bank and charged back. Priceline is an awful company with poor customer service, ineffective inter office communication, and a big fat waste of your time and money. I will never use them again and suggest you all don't either.

Priceline Priceline illegally holds your credit card information Internet
Tried booking some flights through Priceline but my purchase was never confirmed by Priceline via an email they said they would send you within 15 minutes.  Called the 800 number they gave me for my itinerary request and was given a computer message that my purchase didn't go through.  I called my credit company four days later and learned more than $2,000 of pending charges was on hold by Priceline, thus reducing my available credit limit that I need to buy my tickets through another company.  Called Priceline many times until I finally was able to reach a live person by going through their sales department.  That right, the 800 number they give you doesn't connect you to anyone to resolve your problems.  This act by Priceline is down right wrong and they should know if the tickets are unavailable, they should never put a hold that long and clear the transaction immediately, especially when they're dealing with large dollar amounts.  It's like going to the store and the store charges you $100 for something you never bought.  Never use Priceline again.

Just as someone else reported, Priceline misspelled my last name on my airline ticket. I called Priceline to resolve this, but was only transferred to a 'specialist' where I waited on hold for over 30 minutes. I called back and met the same results. Eventually I hungup and called United directly who quickly and politely made the change. This was only my second time using Priceline, and based on this experience I'll be avoiding them in the future.

Priceline ripoff theft rude calculating Internet
I booked a vacation on priceline.com thinking they were trust worthy. It was awful. I booked a few days for my honeymoon in mexico and when we book there was a prompt to book a swim with dolphins. Thinkin this would be fun and save us from booking when we arrive we went ahead and booked. We were told to email the company 48 hours in advance. We did this as told. The company we email for the swim was of no help, they said they could not confirm the trip until we got to mexico and then there would be someone from olympus tours (the dolphins tour people) at our hotel who we would check in with before the swim. Once we got to mexico we arrived at the desk to check in for our swim with the dolphins only to find out that the park we were booked at was over an hour away!!!! Eeven though there were 3 parks within 5 minutes somehow priceline booked us for one over an hour away. Then come to find out the park did not even have our resrvations and would not let us swim with the dolphins!!!!! When we got back I complained to priceline.com about what happen and they said they would not refund us because they said there was a reservation. They would not admit that the reservation was an error! They still claim there was a reservation even though when we were there we were turned away from our swim. We now have to pay $238 for a swim we were not able to take. And priceline went so far as to blame us for their mistake by saying we were no shows and one person told us to learn how to read better This is a horrible way to do business to charge for something not given!!! Priceline family unfriendly company Internet
I want to warn all families with minor children that they should never use priceline.com's choose you own price option. There is no way to ensure that you will be able to have even 1 child in your room because the system they use does not allow you to state number guests and they only guarantee 2 adults. They will not add additional rooms to your existing reservation even if there are rooms available. Your only remedy is to book an additional room through pricelines regular reservation system at whatever their regular room rate is. That will end up costing you almost double what you would have paid if you had simply gone through their regular system. It happened to us. We will have to split up, my husband with one child and I with the other. The hotel is huge and we probably won't even be on the same floor. We could have gotten a room for the 4 of us same star rating for about $150 now we end up paying $95 for the one room and $150 for the second room. We were stupid don't make the same mistake. Priceline ripoff - hotel has no AC! Internet
I booked a hotel room in New York City through Priceline.com - they charged my credit card. I am going to New York on vacation in July, never been there before. When I got the name of the hotel, I found out that it does not have air conditioning. I have a heart condition and cannot stay in a room without AC - even without my heart problem - it would be very uncomfortable in mid July to be in a room with no AC. I asked Priceline to switch me. I was told that AC was an amenity - I think its a necessity, like a bathroom... They should warn bidders that some of their rooms are not air conditioned, before taking $500. I think this is a total ripoff as I can't stay in that hotel, it could kill me. Marianne Dallas, TexasU.S.A.

Beware, Priceline shares your financial information with their affiliates. I use Priceline.com for my travel package purchases. In my last purchase, after my payment confirmation, i was shown a banner stating that i can get a %10 cashback from a 3rd party web site. I went to their web site, entered my e-mail to see what they were offering. Then i realized that its just one of those complete these offers and get cashback type of website, so i decided not to move further. Today i got a charge on my card from this company out of nowhere. I couldnt even remember the name of the company and had to go through my e-mail records to see what it was. Priceline says, when i visited their web page, their terms of service states that Priceline will transfer my information to their system. Im sure they put this disclaimer somewhere in the 7 pixel font disclaimer page. I dont know how ethical it is to disclose my financial information to 3rd party without my consent. I contacted Priceline but all i got was auto responder type of generic messages. The agent names somewhat makes you think that the support center is somewhere in Pakistan or India too. So be careful when you enter your credit card information to sites like this. Angelxxx Phoenix, ArizonaU.S.A.
